ROSY “Rosy?” A distinct voice echoed repeatedly as a pair of hands shook me. I snapped my eyes open and took in the sharp rays of light that flashed into my eyes. “Are you okay, Rosy?” the voice repeated and I tilted my head to the direction it came from. Veronica stared at me filled with concern and pity. “Veronica?” I gasped disappointedly and sat up. “You need to be strong if you want to get through this difficult moment of your life,” Veronica muttered and I snapped my eyes back to her face. Does she know anything? What could she be doing at my place by this time? “Evan told me to look after you after he is gone,” Veronica answered the question echoing in my head. “So, he told you?” I muttered and Veronica nodded. “He was afraid that you might do something stupid to yourself,” Veronica muttered, and my body began to break down again. Veronica sighed and clasped my hands into hers, arranging my disarrayed hair with her fingers. “I am sorry, I have not been a
ROSYI couldn’t believe that my entire family had turned against me. What baffles me the most is that Madam Helen is part of them, too.I thought I could trust her; I thought she would never abandon me like everyone else. But it seems I was born to live my life lonely and desolate with no one by my side.To my astonishment, they chose no one to side with aside the man that I crave for his soul, the man I can’t wait to stain my hands with his blood, bloody Caleb Thompson! My fist clenched, and I tried so hard to refrain from blowing up. I wanted to leave, but my numb feet wouldn’t move from their position.Madam Helen promised that she would make me an outcast. So, this was it; she kept to her word like she always does. She has flung me away like some piece of trash and has invited my father’s enemy to dine with her.“Are you okay, Rosy?” Alejandro’s voice seeped into my raging head and I looked at him, trying not to glare.“Yes, I am fine,” I muttered coldly.“You ended
ROSY“She isn’t much of trouble, though,” Veronica whispered as we stood at the end of the little bed, watching Daisy sleep peacefully.“She is such a sweet girl, just like Sherry,” Veronica must have said that subconsciously. She saw the look in my eyes and regretted saying it.“Let us go for a cup of coffee,” she quickly added.I nodded and left the room with Veronica. We walked silently to the coffee shop close to Veronica’s house and placed our orders before searching for a conversation we could start without involving Evan.“I might get into some issue with the Group,” I muttered and she huffed.“You’re always getting into trouble, what’s it this time around?” She asked, less interested in the conversation I was about to begin.I waited till the waiter dropped the cups of coffee before I continued.“I fought with Madam Helen,” I blurted out, and Veronica choked on her coffee. She coughed, gasping for breath as she slammed the cup of coffee on the table with her reddened
CALEB I gulped down the brandy and licked my lips as I stared at the dancefloor filled with ladies dancing seductively to the heavy beats of the music playing in the clubhouse. ‘The dancefloor’, as we call it, is a place in the clubhouse where atrocities and sex-making are found. It is easier to find a lady on the dancefloor than on the streets. That is one place that I hated in the clubhouse, and that place is what makes me avoid coming here with my crazy friends. I averted my gaze away from the dancefloor and glanced at my ‘so-called’ friends. “Why did you insist that we come here?” I snapped at Julius and Kim who wouldn’t stop arguing about a girl that broke up with Kim last night. They kept mute and faced me. “Come on, what’s up with you these days, huh?” Julius snapped and Kim cackled loudly. “He must still be mourning over his ex-wife,” Casper chipped and I shot him a glare. “Have fun!” Kim said, hitting his fist on my chest. “There are a lot of girls right
CALEBAnger rippled through me and replaced the strong desire that filled my soul.My dark eyes pierced into her, almost ripping her apart with it.She stepped back, staring popeyed at me. There was no single ounce of remorse or guilt in her eyes.“What are you doing here?” She snapped, narrowing her eyes at me.“Dance some more, bitch!” I heard someone spill trash amongst the crowd of hungry men lusting after her.“Who the hell said that!” I growled and some of them backed away and crept back to the corners of the clubhouse.“I did,” a tough-looking man with the same voice staggered out.“What are you going to do?” he smirked, flexing his muscles.Cheers rose among his supporters.I clenched my jaw and dashed after him, but a bulky man came between us.“Stop it, stop it, okay?” The man bellowed and roughly pushed the man back into the crowd.“Hey, you can’t get into a fight here; if you want that, then you got to do it outside,” the man pointed at the exit door.I sighe
ROSYThe sharp rays of light that stung into my eyes woke me up.I groaned and turned around then opened my eyes slowly. The soft mattress and white sheets that wrapped around me made me smile sweetly.Only one person can tuck me in like that. Evan.I fluttered my lashes and snapped my sleepy eyes open to reality. What am I saying? Evan is gone, or wait, did he return?I glanced around the unfamiliar room and sighed as my hopes got dashed on a rock.I would have believed that Evan was back if I had been in my room.I got up, wondering where I was and what I was doing there. This doesn’t look like one of Caleb’s rooms, Veronica's, or Madam Helen's.Oh, damn it! Where the hell am I?I twitched my lips in disgust as I tasted a foul taste in my mouth, I also noticed that a disgusting smell surrounded me.I pulled the sheet away and made a face of disgust when I saw the dry vomit splattered across my dress.Okay, that smell was coming from me, and I didn’t like it.I forgot
ROSY I looked away, embarrassed. “I don’t know what you are talking about,” I muttered even when I was fully aware of what he was talking about. “You’re still putting on that dress?” He waved at my stained dress. I glanced at the dress and bit my lips. “Oh, it seems you also forgot that you threw up all over me last night. My car stinks so bad that I can’t even go close to it,” he said and my brows shot up. So that’s where the vomit came from. I must have drank so much last night. “Well… I never asked you to help me,” I wanted to show the ‘tough lady’ type. Caleb rolled his eyes in disgust, snickering at me. “Is that your apology for poking in my car and on me?” “What else do you expect me to say?” I shrugged. “Don’t say anything, just wash my car,” he replied and turned his back on me. My eyes widened unbelievably at his statement. “What? Wash your car! Hey, have you gone insane?” I snapped, stomping my feet on the ground. He crooned his neck, his length
ROSY Immediately the door opened, I jumped forward and swung the saucepan at whoever was at the door, but a hard large hand gripped my wrist. I winced and thrust the knife forward, but my hand was gripped and twisted. I yelled as I felt a bone snap. The knife and saucepan fell out of my hands and I was pushed to the ground. My back slammed on the wall, and I felt pain shoot through my body as I groaned, biting my lips to ease the kind of pain I was feeling. I slowly opened my eyes, and my jaws dropped as I stared at Mario, who, in turn, was staring unremorsefully at me. He shut the door and it got locked again. I heard a low groan in the kitchen and my heart leaped. That jerk! He must be awake! The groan turned into a mocking laugh as I heard feet shuffle slowly towards me. “Do you think you can run away so easily, Rosy?” Caleb’s voice paralyzed my entire body. Mario bowed to him and picked the weapons I used to fight a lost fight. He walked into the
