The air condition had the office chill, and yet there was nothing but intense fumes between these two childhood friends.
“When did you stop playing fair?” Liam inquired with bitterness in his voice.
“What are you talking about?” Dax asked while blankly looking at his friend.
A smirk made its way to Liam's lips as he intensely stared at Dax before resting back in his chair. Then within a split second, a frown crossed his face while his eyes burned with fury.
“There was a foul play last night, and the events that took place aren't settling right with me.” Liam calmly said, yet his voice was cold.
“What does that have to do with me?” Dax asked with a bit of aggression in his tone.
As anger stirred within him, Liam swallowed down his frustration and kept his expression calm even though he had his fingers folded in a tight fist.
