CHAPTER 63

ALPHA DERRICK'S POV

I crossed into the bedroom the moment I opened it. It was arranged and the bed, untouched. Hawkins obviously never entered the room. I still had to check even as there were no blood stains in the room.

I checked everywhere in the bedroom and there were no signs of him. I stared at the bathroom door and started off.

"Of course, he's not here." I muttered under my breath as I closed the door I had just opened.

I came out of the bedroom and found Clara standing there with her arm stretched out in front of her. She looked overwhelmed with fear and delight as the cuckoo bird I had just left in the cage stood majestically on her arm.

"I told you not to touch anything." I said to her,

"I know you did but the poor thing just caught my eyes." She said to me,

"That poor thing should be in its cage." I said to her,

"The cage you left open, right?" She asked me.

I looked at her and sighed as I came close.
