Gabriel, Scarlette, and Lily continued their journey through the woods, enjoying the warmth of the sun as it filtered through the leaves. As they walked, they noticed a group of birds flying overhead, singing a cheerful melody. Lily, fascinated by the birds, tried to imitate their singing. However, her attempt turned out more like a croaky, off-key noise that made Scarlette and Gabriel burst out laughing.

Lily's cheeks turned pink as she looked up at them, feeling embarrassed. "I'm sorry, I guess I'm not very good at singing," she said.

Scarlette smiled and shook her head. "Don't worry about it, Lily. It's not about being good or bad, it's about enjoying yourself."

Gabriel chuckled and wrapped his arm around Scarlett's waist. "And Lily, you definitely made us enjoy ourselves," he said. They continued walking, the sound of Lily's singing lingering in the air. Despite the danger that still loomed over them, they found comfort in each other's company and the simple joys that life had to o

“At this point, I don’t think we even have to ask who this is.” Jackson was the first to speak. Everyone blinked several times “Yes, the resemblance is uncanny.” Gabriel chimed in. “It’s like looking into a mirror but different anatomy,” Lydia said in wonder. “Fucking hell what strong jeans this family has,” Sasha stated stupified by the features of her friend and the male before them. “He doesn’t look old enough to be a great grand papi,” Mikael said, this made the male burst out in boisterous laughter. “You are quite the bunch!” He boomed, even though his voice was the complete opposite of Scarlett’s where her’s sounded angelically soft, and sometimes when she was surprised a bit squeaky, this male’s voice was strong, gruff, and unmissably masculine. “It was I who put a truth spell on your home Miss Lydia, I hope you do not mind?” He asked her she shook her head too entranced to speak. “I just needed to know that my daughter was not being taken for granted or surrounded by fo

“Wait what made you decide to come to Earth then?” Scarlett asked Helle just as the microwave beeped to let her know her Burrito is done. Gabriel went to get it and a plate for her, and then placed her coffee next to her as well. “He takes very good care of you, bless the fates for bestowing such a worthy mate upon my little Gem.” Helle stated as he observed Gabriel’s treatment of his only child. Scarlett narrowed her eyes at the being who was responsible for her existence or rather who’s seamen played a roll in her existence. “As feisty as your mother” he said shaking his head, with a knowing smile on his face. “I came to let you know that you are safe to return home whenever you want and also to see how you are faring in the human world.” He said to her matter-of-factly. This made anger bubble inside of Scarlett a kind she had never experienced before. “Home? “What do you mean me?” Scarlett asked when she had gained her barrings. “Have none of you made her feel this strongly about anything before?” Helle asked them with laughter in his voice. “What’s so funny?” Scarlett asked him with venom in her voice. “With all due respect father-in-law, if I told you about the strong emotions I have experienced with your daughter I fear you would never look at me the same way.”, Gabriel said looking at the floor shyly, recalling the night they marked one another. “That much I had expected Gabriel” Helle responded with humor in his voice. “Daughter, when we experience powerful emotions we have the tendency to make the vicinity we’re in react as a display of what is happening internally. “Did you not see us all hanging on for dear life?” Lydia asked in equal humor as Helle, This was new to Scarlett as she had never seen Lydia in this state not even from the day they first met. Scarlett shook her head at her friend. “Our rage blinds us to whatever, i

“Maybe you should give them a chance?” Sasha asked looking back into the room with all her friends. Staring at her unexpected words. “Why would you say such a thing?” Scarlett asked her, “Seems you and I are in the same boat now. If you meet yours I will seek out mine?” Sasha offered, Scarlett thought it over for a moment then nodded her head at her friend as they embraced. One another. “Wonderful!, Then it is settled. When do we travel to them?” Lydia asked in excitement, “Babe chill.” Mikael said nervously. “It’s okay Mik, I’ve never seen her this excited before,” Scarlett said amused at Lydia’s indifference to the situation she was in. “And besides, I didn’t get all the information I wanted, you’re a demi-goddess what is your father? What is your mother? We know your grandparents made the Earth.” Lydia was now showing signs of a mad scientist in the midst of a breakthrough in her experiment. “I think Gabriel is right. Perhaps we should all get some rest? Good luck Mikael.” She

After a night of passion, Scarlett fell into a deep sleep where she had the odd dream which she knew was not a dream. The other Scarlett was feeding the other Gabriel. What stood out to her most was that he apologized for making her turn him into a vampire. How can that be? Surely her Gabriel will have remembered such an event, or was that just the consequence of their fabrications? ‘There were some differences between them and us?’ she thought to herself as she stirred in the bed with her eyes still closed, she reached over to find the place next to her was empty. Usually, Gabriel would wait for her to wake up. She knew exactly where he was, she could smell him making magic in his natural habitat. She hugged him from behind when she was done with her morning routine. “You’re so graceful in your natural habitat my lord.” She said to him he looked at her humor spread all over his face. “Oh holiness, flattery will get you everywhere, Please continue.” They both burst out laughing a

JACKSON’S POV “Sasha, what the hell was yesterday all about?” Jackson asked his mate, Ever since they got into Gabriel’s car the previous night she had been nothing short of distant, she wouldn’t even mate with him and that to him was a big red alert that something was terribly wrong. “We already concluded that it was misplaced anger.” She said to him in an attempt to kill the conversation but Jackson was having none of it. “Did you see how powerful she is, what if you said the wrong thing in the wrong tone or she actually took offense to the shit you were sprouting?!” he yelled at her hoping that his words would knock some sense into her. “Jackson, it’s over. Let the events of the past stay where they belong, in the past.” She said back to him as she walked off into the woods removing her clothing, he walked after her removing his own clothing as he saw she was going to shift and take a run in wolf form. They could still communicate via pack link. “We’re not done with this conve

LYDIA’S POV “How long will our mateship remain a secret Lydia? I cannot keep lying to my King and Queen.” Mikael asked her, he knew Helle sensed it and if he did that meant then Scarlett would come into her full power so would she. He will never be able to live down the shame of lying to his Royal Leaders. “Relax Mikael, they will understand that we need to remain hidden, my entire coven is filled with psychotic bitches. Do you have any idea what they will do to you when they find out the last of their bloodline is mated to a vampire who cannot reproduce?” She asked him. He understood where she was coming from and it pained him to know that he had the inability to give her children of her own, he could sense her desire for motherhood even before they knew what she was. “You know, I always had a crush on you when I thought I was human, how come you were always such a jerk to me?” She asked him changing the subject. “I thought you would freak out if you knew what I was, so I just

It’s been two days since Scarlett had the dream about her other self turning Gabriel into a vampire. She was still full of wonder about how that came to be, she so badly wanted to call on her father to get some answers but she refrained from doing so. She wasn’t sure if it was a matter of pride or if she was still angry that they sent her away regardless of their good intentions. They forced her to live a lie. The alternative was to dream walk to Scarlett and confront her about her lie, but what if Sasha’s fears came true and that caused them more danger than resolving her curious problem? She would never forgive herself if anything happened to her mate and friends because she followed her head instead of her heart. Gabriel was in a similar predicament, deep in thought himself, wondering if contacting Helle would answer all their unanswered questions, but he didn’t want to disrespect his mate or piss her off by any means if their last encounter with her wrath was any indication then

ALTERNATE UNIVERSE Kael stepped forward, his face tense. "Your Majesty, Scarlette, Demetrius," he greeted them, bowing low. "I have troubling news from the Vampire Council." Gabriel's jaw clenched. "What is it?" "The Council has received reports of a group of rogue vampires attacking nearby villages, killing and turning humans indiscriminately," Kael explained. "They believe that it might be the work of one of our own." Gabriel's eyes narrowed. "One of our own?" "Yes, Your Majesty," Kael confirmed. "The Council suspects that the perpetrator might be one of the rebels who defied their orders and left the clan years ago." Scarlette felt a shiver run down her spine. "What do we do?" "We investigate," Gabriel said firmly. "We cannot let our kind be associated with this kind of brutality. We will find the perpetrator and bring them to justice." I won’t waste my strength shouting over your chaos.” Moira answered Lydia. Lydia dissipated her power just enough to make Moira believe she had closed off access to her magic. “Great, now contrary to popular belief, I am not after the Nishruu inside of you.” Moira said in disgust, “I have seen how those things have driven family members crazy or to suicide, I refuse to host such an abomination.” she continued, “Alright let me start at the beginning.” Moira clapped her hands together and rubbed them as though she was ready to have a feast. “A little history little sister, the Nishruu was not placed inside of you because our family was trying to save

“So you’re going to stand there and pretend you don’t know who I am?” Sasha asked Asher. The beta frowned and then sniffed the air again this time zoning in on the Queen Luna. His eyes widened as tears started to stream down his face, and he fell to his knees. That was not the reaction she expected. “Of course not Lilly,” Asher said, which made Scarlett's eyes widen as she recalled her dream of the other universe where Gabriel and Scarlett had a little girl with them called Lily. “My name is Sasha.” She said to him anger boiling in her chest. “Olivia named you Lily, forgive me, Lyle must have asked the humans to rename you to keep you hidden,” Asher said as his voice broke. “What did you just say?” She asked him in confusion as her anger only dissipated by a fraction. “Alpha Johnson did not kill you even though the witch warned him this day would come and you would seek your vengeance upon him for slaughtering our true Luna.” Beta Miller said, still on his knees. “Well, so my siste
