Hey reader, it's your author MK here, I was just wondering... Have you cast your vote yet?
LYDIA’S POV “How long will our mateship remain a secret Lydia? I cannot keep lying to my King and Queen.” Mikael asked her, he knew Helle sensed it and if he did that meant then Scarlett would come into her full power so would she. He will never be able to live down the shame of lying to his Royal Leaders. “Relax Mikael, they will understand that we need to remain hidden, my entire coven is filled with psychotic bitches. Do you have any idea what they will do to you when they find out the last of their bloodline is mated to a vampire who cannot reproduce?” She asked him. He understood where she was coming from and it pained him to know that he had the inability to give her children of her own, he could sense her desire for motherhood even before they knew what she was. “You know, I always had a crush on you when I thought I was human, how come you were always such a jerk to me?” She asked him changing the subject. “I thought you would freak out if you knew what I was, so I just
It’s been two days since Scarlett had the dream about her other self turning Gabriel into a vampire. She was still full of wonder about how that came to be, she so badly wanted to call on her father to get some answers but she refrained from doing so. She wasn’t sure if it was a matter of pride or if she was still angry that they sent her away regardless of their good intentions. They forced her to live a lie. The alternative was to dream walk to Scarlett and confront her about her lie, but what if Sasha’s fears came true and that caused them more danger than resolving her curious problem? She would never forgive herself if anything happened to her mate and friends because she followed her head instead of her heart. Gabriel was in a similar predicament, deep in thought himself, wondering if contacting Helle would answer all their unanswered questions, but he didn’t want to disrespect his mate or piss her off by any means if their last encounter with her wrath was any indication then
When they pulled up at the pack house Jackson and Sasha were nowhere to be found, Mikael checked his phone to find that the Alpha never even read his text message. Just as they were about to start their little search party the pack beta came up to their. “Alpha went after Luna into the woods. They’re dealing with some personal business but our pack healer did let them know you are here. They have communicated that they will be here shortly.” He said to them then left. “That boy is as stiff as it gets,” Val said as she approached the gang, “Can I offer y’all something to eat or drink since our Beta seems to have lost his manners?” she offered them. “Something to drink would be nice Valerie thank you so much,” Scarlett said with amusement in her voice at the old lady chastising a higher-ranked wolf than herself. “Yeah, we will wait for pack leaders to get back to eat.” Lydia offered, she always had a smile on her face for Val. Suppose the woman was her soft spot. Just as Valerie
“Right now that you animals have filled your bellies can we get to the fun stuff?” Jackson asked as he looked around the dinning table in his pack house. That made Scarlett laugh. “And Gabriel called us a circus.” She said shaking her head, “Can see where he get’s his sense of humor from.” Sasha chirpped in. And everyone laughed. Sasha reached for the first Enveloped that read DNA on it, she gulped loudly as she took the folded page out of it. It wasn’t so much the names she was looking for, she wanted to know what species her parents were. “Hmm, seems like my birth mother was a shifter and my dad was a werewolf.” The news pissed Jackson off, the thought that a wolf threw his pup away was unacceptable to the Alpha king and something he was itching to remedy right away. “Your dad must have been an Alpha for you to be mated to one.” Gabriel offered making Sasha blink rapidly. Lydia, Scarlett and Mikael sat quietly at the table waiting for Sasha to say something or open the other envel
JACKSON’S POV After seeing their friends off Jackson went back to Sasha, pacing up and down in their bedroom before finally sitting at the window overlooking the entire and a few yards into the woods. Their room was strategically placed this high in this exact position so that the Alpha could always ensure his pack’s safety and know when an unexpected attack was on its way. Jax still couldn’t believe how the Alpha of the Bloodmoon pack, the murderer of his parents was his mate’s father. He loved Sasha with every fiber of his being, he couldn’t imagine his feelings toward her changing simply because of her DNA, but could she forgive him if his animalistic instincts kicked in upon seeing her father and just ripping his throat out? He saw how much pain she was in when she found out her father was a wolf, It’s not likely that a wolf would abandon their pups not even rogues are that cruel. But the utter shock at finding out that he was an Alpha intensified her pain, she was his firstbo
The next day everybody was once again in Scarlett’s apartment “Hey Mikael, when do we get to have a meeting at your place?” She asked him annoyed that once again everyone was standing in the small flat. “Whenever you wish Majesty.” He said with a hint of amusement in his voice. “Can we go now?” She asked him itching to get out of her flat. “Yeah, I have never seen your place either,” Jackson said with curiosity on his face. I don’t think anyone but Gabriel has seen his place Lydia said with a frown on her face too.” This causes the vampires to laugh. “Prepare to be amazed,” Gabriel said as they all filed out and into their own personal vehicles following behind Mikael who had Lydia as his passenger. At this point, everyone was confused as Mikael had driven past the bayou where Jackson’s pack was and Past the area where Lydia’s cottage was. They turned off onto a dirt road and drove so far into the woods that they ended up at the foot of a mountain when Mikael finally stopped his
“Enough about me! We have ingredients to cook since none of us had the mind to get takeaways and this place is too far out for delivery.” Mikael said this caused Gabriel to rub his hands together ready to get his chef on. “Pizza or pasta?” He asked them then rolled his eyes as he could practically see Scarlett and Jackson salivating at the thought of both meals. “Can we have chocolate croissants for dessert?” Sasha asked. Gabriel just nodded and got busy. “Have you decided what you will do with the information I gave you yesterday?” Lydia asked getting right into it. Scarlett blinked multiple times not knowing what to say or do about their friend's bluntness while Mikael walked off to get whatever tech they might need for research. “I suppose I would have to confront the bastard won't I?” Sasha said.”Damn straight!” Lydia encouraged in the most peculiar way. “Jackson and I did, however, come to the conclusion that it wasn’t because he didn’t love her that he killed her. “ Eve
Scarlett’s eyes widened as she recalled their encounter with the council of species. She recalled how each and every one of them was scrutinized by the members of that council. Most of all she remembered how hard Lydia’s family member swallowed when she saw Sasha. “Lydia’s sister, or was it your aunt? The lady from the species council?!” Scarlett said as the words came tumbling out of her mouth not making sense to her own ears. “Yes, she is old and strong enough to pull something like that off,” Lydia said with disdain. “I too remember how pale she went for a second, I thought it was because she saw me,” Lydia said. “But Sasha was standing right behind you,” Jackson said. “Fucking bitch!” Lydia exclaimed as she slammed her closed fists on the countertop. “That settles it. I am going to kill the whore.” Lydia said furiously that a member of her family could interfere with another person’s life in such a colossal way. Sasha shot up from her seat hugging her friend with all her mi
