I looked at Mia, who was perfectly playing her part as the wronged and ashamed victim. I suspected that she'd convinced herself she was an innocent victim of rape at this point.

Rory sighed and lowered his head, not daring to look at me. Seeing that, I asked for him instead, "So, how much money do you want?"

When Mia's mother, Karen Montgomery, heard me, she hurriedly nudged Fred to say something.

He immediately said, "We're not leaving without 200 thousand dollars! You ruined my daughter's innocence! It's all because of you!"

"What innocence? She's the homewrecker here!" I exclaimed in response. Mia's parents nearly fainted when they heard me.

"What nonsense are you talking about?"

They stared at me in disbelief. I figured they probably still hadn't grasped a hold of the situation, but I was too lazy to explain things to them anymore. I was just going to let Rory pay them off.
