Lace’s POV

I reached the front door, laughter of relief coming through. We had made it. We were safe. Thank the stars we were safe.

“We made it!” I giggled, turning towards my friends. Friend.

Kira looked at me, her hands on her knees. She was never one for running.

“Killer…” my voice came out shaky, fear of what I was about to ask. She stood up straight, tears brimming, “Where… where is Hayley?”

XXX

Hailstorm’s POV

I saw Kira disappearing through the trees, trying to catch up but instead, was pulled back. Falling onto the ground, landing on my side with a very hard thud, the wind was knocked out of me. I tried to get back up, not daring to look back but something forced me to.

Slowly, as if the time might stop the inevitable, I turned my head. There, with part of my dress clutched in his teeth was the scariest creature I have ever seen. His eyes were a deep red, his teeth glinting in the moonlight. His pelt was gorgeous thought. A beautiful silvery white looking as soft as satin. One might forget the thing was about to have me for dinner. His jaw slowly unhinged and I fell back.

Scampering up, I tried to make a run for it but another wolf appeared in front of me. He was growling, saliva dripping from his canines.

I spun around but the wolf who had torn my dress was still there, looking identical to the one in my front. More of them appeared, all of them overly scary replicas of one another with the same stance. They were all a shade of white and grey, all with red eyes and all very hungry.

I moved an inch to my left, hearing paws and just as I spun around, the wolf was on top of me. I fell down, clutching my stomach just as I hit the ground. The wolf was right on top of me, his paws by my neck.

Time to scream Hayley. You have to scream now.

Put up a fight. You have a baby to take care of. It’s important you not kill the thing before it even has the chance to have eyes.

“That’s enough!” the voice was loud, echoing through the trees. I turned my head in the direction of the voice and was greeted with an image that made my cheeks flood with heat.

Butt naked. This man was butt naked.

I felt the pressure lift from my body and looking back, I saw the wolf now sitting next to me. As if we were old buddies. O sure, you didn’t just try to eat me…

“Get up please” the man said. I nodded, not daring to look at him.

Wolf controller – I shall listen to you so I won’t die.

“Sorry about that, they’re still in training” he said and heard him approaching me. I didn’t say anything, watching as the wolves filtered back into the trees. When the last one disappeared the man spoke again but I didn’t listen to him. Instead, I decided to do a very stupid thing.

I ran. And this time, I wasn’t going to be stopped. My throat was burning, my body crying out from pain. When I saw the porch light relief washed over me but it came way too soon. Maybe it was the happiness that made me slow down but it had been a horrible idea.

Because well, I never made it to the house.

Killer’s POV

Lacy and I didn’t sleep a wink that evening, spending a wasted half hour hoping our friend might appear out of the trees, and when she didn’t – we grabbed the torches. Call us idiots, but Hayley meant the world to us.

We had returned about ten minutes ago, our eyes swollen from crying and barely able to say anything to one another. What could we say? Lacy was blaming herself the whole time and even if it wasn’t her fault, I couldn’t utter any words without bursting into tears.

We felt completely hopeless as Lacy went to sit on the floor by the door, her face ashen. I knelt down next to her, wrapping my arm into hers. What was supposed to be an amazing evening had turned into a complete and utter disaster.

A knock sounded from the door, ringing through the house.

“Hayley!” Lacy shouted, jumping up from the ground, pulling me up with her. We stumbled to the front door together, Lacy throwing it open.

Standing there was not our friend. Instead, a guy with blonde hair and a smirking face were staring at us. Next to him, a guy with grey-blue eyes and chocolate skin stood, him not looking so pleased.

“Well, hello girls” the blonde one grinned.

Things are going well with minimal incidents in human form. The new recruits are all doing excellent and will be a good addition to the guardians. Edwin Jones has sadly fallen out however due to his own choice.

An incident has however occurred with the new recruits in wolf form. There was an incident involving humans in the woods but will be taken care of.

Kind regards

Liam’s POV

I starred at the girl, she stirring in the bed, light groans and words escaping her lips. She was lying on her stomach, her wavy dark hair creating a halo around her head. She was quite a restless sleeper, moving around and having caused the blankets to fall off twice now. I swear if it was going to happen a third time, I wasn’t going to tuck her in again.

Okay, the fourth time I wasn’t going to tuck it in.

I sighed, moving towards her, picking up the blanket when I got to her. It already smelt like her and for the first time in my life, I didn’t find the scent of humans disgusting. She smelt like strawberries. You know, not terrible.

I threw the blanket over her, preparing to move the blankets around her but then, I saw blue glassy saucers. She blinked, her long lashes brushing the skin. Dew-like droplets manages to spider-web them.

“Um, hi”

Her mouth opened and before she could scream, I placed my hand over her mouth.

“Calm down, you’re safe” I said, trying to soothe her but did the exact opposite. Something sharp made me pull my hand back and when I looked down, teeth marks were evident on the palm of my hand.

“You bit me!?”

“You kidnapped me!” she said, her voice shaky.

“Why’d you bite me!?”

“Why’d you kidnap me!?”

Was she going to do this all night?

“I didn’t kidnap you, I saved you from those wolves. You could have died”

“I was save! I was about to get to my house!” she snapped, sitting up straight.

I groaned, glaring at the girl. She looked fierce, as if she wasn’t scared at all and her chin wasn’t wobbling.

“What’s your name?”

“I’m not telling you shit, you kidnapped me” she said.

Well, if I’m supposedly the dad of that thing in your stomach (On instinct her arms surrounded her tummy, all the anger disappearing from her features), I think I need to know your name?”

“It’s not a thing, and you ARE the dad” she said, tightening her grip. I sighed, trying not to roll my eyes.

“Name?”

“Hayley” she grumbled, “Yours?”

“Liam, and I can’t be the father”

“For the hundredth time – you are! It can’t be anyone else” she snapped, glaring at me.

“Are you sure? Like how sure are you?”

“One Hundred percent”

“You sure you’re not just a slut?” the girl’s eyes blazed over and before I realised what was going on, a sharp stinging came from my cheeks.

“I am not a slut!” she snapped, getting off of the bed.

“Hey! Where do you think you’re going!?” she opened the door, me hearing her footsteps as she rushed down the hallway. I internally groaned, following her.

XXX

Hailstorm’s POV

“Hayley!” they were like a chorus. An amazing beautiful chorus. Lacy was the first one to reach me, wrapping her slender arms around me in a deathly grip.

“Thank the stars you’re okay” she smiled, leaning away from me for a moment just to inspect me. Kira also joined in the hug, “We were sick with worry” she whispered, her eyes still teary.

“Hey! You can’t just...” we all turned the same time to where Liam stood, him about halfway down the stairs. I looked at him wide-eyed, Kira about the same but Lacy’s face morphed into anger.

“So, you’re the one who kidnapped us!?” she glared, folding her arm into mine.

“I didn’t kidnap you!” he snapped, his gaze diverting to me.

“Then why are we here huh?” Lacy snapped, her eyes a fiery brown.

Liam groaned, “Just –“

“See, you did kidnap us”

“And what if I? What are you three going to do about it?” he said, changing his entire argument.

“Please” Kira spoke up, “Please, we won’t tell anyone”

“That’s not the problem here” Liam said and to say what the problem actually was, he looked over at my stomach. O fluff…

At that moment the door opened and two other guys appeared. Lacy and Kira immediately tightened their grip on me, Lacy’s eyes shifting to worry.

“Christopher, Mason – please escort the two girls to their room” Liam said as he took the final steps down the stairs. He walked towards us, the other two also nearing.

“We’re not going anywhere with you freaks” Lacy sneered.

“Yeah, this wasn’t a willing kind of thing” the blonde one said and a second later, my feet left the ground. I was thrown over Liam’s shoulder and immediately screams erupted.

“Let us go!” Kira yelled, banging on the blonde’s back. She was kicking viciously, the energy she gave through, unlike her. We were taken up the stairs, our continuous hitting and kicks causing the boys to become irritated and less gentle as we moved forward.

“I am begging you guys, let us go!” Kira cried as we reached the second floor. The boy’s ignored her and we were taken down the familiar corridor.

I watched as Lacy and Kira’s captures halted at a door, the dark one opening the door and both of them disappearing inside… with my friends. With widened eyes, I watched the door close – me separated from my friends once again.

“Liam please, you have to let me go” I tried. He didn’t say anything, simply just tightened his hold around my waist.

“Why are you doing this?” we stopped walking and I could hear a door opening before the uncomfortable ride continued. We were back in my old room, the place familiar to me. It was a nice room – you know, for the place I was being kidnapped in – with dark woodened floors and a large bed with light blue coverings. The walls were decorated with old scripts that’s language I was unable to read.

I was thrown on the bed, Liam starring at me with hints of anger in his hazel eyes.

“What the hell was that!?” he snapped, his arms folding.

“Was what?” I said, looking at him wide-eyed. He was still as pretty as the stupidest night of my life. Dammit.

“You and your friends? You deciding to just hit me and then run off? I don’t know – your lippy friend!?”

“You called me a slut!?” I growled, wanting him to get away from me. I could feel my body starting to heat up and I was supposed to hate this guy.

“Because-“

“If you are going to say this baby is not yours again, I swear I will hit you”

He closed his mouth again, his eyes now filled with annoyance. He groaned, spinning around and moving away from me.

“Why the hell did I sleep with you!?” he sighed, “You’re so annoying!”

“Annoying? You hardly know me!”

“What I know already is that you’re a pain in my arse”

“Ditto to you too!”

A noise that sounded like a growl came from the man, him moving to the door. With a slam that made me wince, I was alone in the room once again. I fell back onto the bed, all the anger subsiding.

This was terrible. My friends and I were screwed. And why? Because I decided to hook up with a psychopathic maniac who trains wolves and kidnaps girls.

My brain is going in overdrive as I continue to lie on the bed. How it was my fault. How is was beer pongs fault. How I should have just NOT kissed anyone. My stomach twisted and I placed my hand over it.

“Your dad is a psycho” I whispered, getting the shock of my life when the door opened.

“Calm down” Kira said as she and Lacy entered the room, Lacy closing the door behind her, “Just us”

My mouth morphed into a smile as I rushed over, hugging them once again.

“I was so worried” I mumbled into Kira’s shoulder.

“Now you know how we felt! Baby daddy took you away” Lacy said, “How are you feeling by the way?”

“Okay” I said, placing my hand once again on my stomach. I swear I was just going to glue it on.

“Do you think we have to cancel that appointment?”

“How can we? None of us have phones” Lacy mumbled, “I’m so sorry guys, this is all my fault” tears started gushing out of her eyes, making my heart ache.

“No Lace, it’s not. I promise you – it’s not”

We placed our hands on her shoulder, trying to comfort her.
