It was rather gloomy because the Pack's territory was encircled by a thick forest and the moon was low in the sky. Ema was so overcome with emotion that she began to pace her dimly lit room as if everything had suddenly become crystal plain to her. She had gathered all the necessary information and moved near to Amelia, so Caroline was willing to wait.

She stood before her maid, who quavered in her hands as she clung to a weathered leather volume containing mystical and folklore details concerning the realm of the otherworld. Something told Ema that Bruce's girlfriend wasn't completely normal, so she had been approaching Amelia about it for weeks.
