Bella:

My heart skipped a beat as Hazel stood frozen for a moment, then I watched Noah walk away without turning back. He walked away before she could reject him, that bastard!

I felt a surge of anger up my spine, making me want to punch him in his face. I wasn’t the one getting rejected, but I could feel literal chills in my spine because it was so unexpected, and I had always dreamed of a relationship like theirs.
