Unplanned Trip

Bella:

Ryder remained on my body for a while without uttering another word, and then he pulled out when his phone beeped. My eyes caught the name on the screen before he clicked the power button, and I saw it was his mum.

“You do not have to talk about it,” I said to him, and then he took a deep breath before turning the car on.

We drove slowly to the carnival grounds, and as soon as he wheeled into the car park, I saw Alpha Fred, and my mum, wrapped around each other, sitting by a bench near the tall pillar of light situated by his designated car park. The headlights caught their attention, and they pulled away at once.

Ryder stopped the car, and got out, then he walked towards his father while I reached for the handle to open the door.

“Here,” he said plainly, tossing the key towards his father, who caught in time before it could hit the ground.
