"You say this only to cheer me up, Don't you?" she asked with an incredulous smile on her face and hopeful tears in her eyes. Serena was in disbelief. It sounded too good to be true. Years she had spent longing for it and now that her husband was telling her that her prayers were finally answered, she couldn't believe it. He was amused by her reaction. She was just not able to believe it. "I am not lying, love. I will never say such lies to you" he said, a gentle smile gracing his lips. He could relate to her reaction. He was just as surprised when the doctor had told him. Serena was speechless. She just stared at him, unable to find her voice. How do you respond when you learn that God has finally fulfilled your most earnest wish? It took her more than a moment to process the revelation. It just felt too overwhelming. As the realization finally dawned on her, her hand instinctively reached and splayed across her flat stomach where her baby was resting- a tangible symbol of hope.
