CHAPTER SIXTY FOUR

Roy’s Pov

I opened my eyes and turned to see the doctor checking my vitals.

He smiled. “Oh, you are awake?”

I nodded and tried to sit up, but he touched my shoulder and kept me in the same position. “No, don’t stress yourself any further; you still need a little more rest.”

“I just want to sit. My whole back aches.”

“It’s normal; don’t worry. It will subside soon.” He said, smiling, “Come on, give me your hand.”

I raised it, and he took it, took a closer look, and stared at me. “How much sleep have you been getting the past few days?”

“Um...” I scratched my forehead.

“Not nearly enough, it would seem. Do you have any idea why you are feeling so horribly?” He asked, then placed my hand back down, turned towards the door, pushed it closed, and turned to me again. He sat down on the edge of my bed and took my hand again. “Mrs. Reeves, are you aware that you are with a child?”

“What?”

He nodded and looked at my stomach. “You are pregnant. Your bloodwork has come back with a positive pregn
