Small Champion

Doreen walked towards Alexandra who was fixed on a piece of clothing for almost an hour, she had been creating different designs of dresses and her eyes and hands were hurting already. But she was doing it to take her mind off Liam, Doreen had told her that he wanted a dinner meeting and even though she refused, she couldn't deny that it was getting into her thoughts and disturbing her greatly. But Liam wasn't worth thinking about and she was going to channel all that energy for a new world breaking piece.

"Ma'am, its almost 3pm." Doreen said and Alexa turned.

"3pm?" She asked, her eyes widening as she immediately unrolled her sleeve, wearing her shoes. Her children would have closed about an hour ago and would be waiting for her. She wasn't paying attention to them lately and was beating herself mentally for that. Even though she knew she was tired and so stressed out, she wasn't ready to take a break.

"I'll see you tomorrow, Doreen." She said as she picked her handbag and her phone, rushing out of her office. Doreen sighed as she saw Alexa rush out in a hurry, she could tell she was just trying to manage and keep her sanity going. Alexa was stressing herself too much and she wasn't ready to listen to anyone telling her to rest.

Doreen knew Alexa had a goal, a purpose, something she was desperately trying to get and that was a lot of money and power that no one would be able to beat her. It was only a matter of time before Velvet Vixen got to that stage, considering the fact that it will soon be one of the top five in the fashion and clothing industries. What was driving her goal? Doreen wondered.

*~*~*~

Driving into the school compound, Liam looked around slowly hoping to catch sight of Jade or Jace, but the school's population was large and all the students were outside right now, since it was time for them to go home.

He had to drive into the parking lot and park his car there. He suddenly remembered that his niece, Alice was also in the school and he rushed to her class, desperately praying that she would recognize any of the twins.

Jace waited for Jade in front of her class since they were in separate classrooms.

"Hurry up, Jade. Mom would be here any minute." He said, hitting his leg on the ground impatiently and Jade nodded boringly, wishing she could play a little bit with her friend, Sally.

"Would you love to go home with us, Sally? My mom can drop you off by your house." Jade asked.

"I'll love to...."

"Hey." Someone suddenly blocked Jade and Sally as they were about to leave the class and Jade rolled her eyes slowly.

"Alice Reed, what do you want?" She asked.

"Why do you always keep talking to that poor brat?" Alice asked, nodding her head towards Sally. Sally immediately moved behind Jade in fear and Jade sighed.

"How rude of you to call her a poor brat! Are you any different?" Jade retorted.

"What? How dare you?" Alice shot in reply.

"Alice, I sincerely apologize because I have to leave you behind, as you can see my brother is waiting for me right outside and my mom would soon be here. So please....move." Jade said and pushed Alice away, holding Sally along as she walked out. Alice fisted her hands angrily.

"Why are you standing there doing nothing?" She fired at the girl beside her, Daisy.

"What do you want me to do?" Daisy asked and Alice hissed, running after Jade immediately. She got to her and pushed her from behind, making her fall on the floor hardly and bruising her knee.

"Jade!!!" Jace who had no idea of what was happening rushed towards his sister and helped her to stand up immediately, checking if she had any bruises. Her bandaged hand was bruised again as it hasn't healed up yet.

"How dare you push my sister?" He shot angrily at Alice, eyeing her angrily.

"What, are you going to call your daddy to beat me up?" Alice mocked and then she folded her hands slowly and smiled.

"I forgot you have no daddy!" She laughed and Daisy sighed behind her, biting her lips slowly. Jace and Jade felt hurt by what Alice just said and instead of saying anything, they just turned and started walking away.

"Call your daddy to beat me up, okay?" Alice laughed funnily.

"Stop saying that, Alice!" Alice suddenly went quiet and Jade and Jace turned to see who had reprimanded her so harshly.

"I'm going to beat you up once you say something of that such again." Liam warned.

"Uncle..." Alice whined but Liam shot her a look.

"Apologize to them right now." He said and she pursed her lips tightly, fisting her hands.

"Never." She said and ran out of the place.

"I'm really sorry about that." Daisy said to Jade and followed Alice immediately, Jace's eyes going after her.

Jade stared at Liam deeply as he stood in front of them and then she turned to look at Jace.

"Jace." She whispered.

"Huh?" Jace replied and turned away from Daisy's retreating figure to look at Jade.

"Don't you think you look a lot like that man over there?" She whispered again and Jace finally looked at Liam. He saw the resemblance but he didn't say anything about it, instead he turned to Jade.

"Let's go, mommy would soon be here." He said instead and Jade nodded, bowing respectfully to Liam as a way of saying thank you.

"Let's go, Sally." Jade said, dragging her friend along.

"Wait." Liam suddenly said and they all stopped, the he rushed to Jade, placing a small bandage on her revealed wound.

"How did you get injured?" He asked slowly.

"I dipped my hand in hot water." Jade replied nonchalantly.

"What? Where was your mom?" He asked.

"She was at her gala at that time." She replied as she watched him place the bandage carefully.

"Is your mom Alexandra?" He asked slowly and Jade nodded.

"How did you know that?" She asked, bewildered.

"Actually, I..." Jace suddenly interrupted Liam by hitting his hand away from Jade's own and Liam backed away, looking shocked.

"What's your deal?" Jace asked frowning.

"Who are you and why are you asking about my mom?" He asked questioningly and seemingly annoyed.
