                ❤️ CHAPTER 4 ❤️

 Jeanne sat in the dinning room eating dinner silently at the same time pressing her phone making her eat slowly.

She returned from school some hours ago, had a shower and a little nap before joining Mrs Smith I'm the kitchen to cook dinner.

Mrs Smith is their cook, she arrives early in the morning and leaves after preparing dinner.

She heard the horn of a car, dad must be here already, she thought.

This will be the first time she will be seeing him after arriving in New York.

She stood up immediately her father entered the house. Baby, she heard his voice making her stop.

Yes Dad, she answered, he's the only one that still call her baby despite the fact that she's a grown up.

You are done with dinner??

Yeah Obviously, she replied rudely.

I wanted to have dinner together with you but since you have eaten, I will just go freshen up and eat my dinner afterwards, Mr Salva said before walking to his room.

Jeanne just shrugged before entering her room.

Mr Salva knocked on Jeanne's room.

Dad is that you, she asked from the room.

Yeah, he answered.

What does he want this late, she thought.

Come in, she said sitting upright.

Hope I didn't disturb your sleep, he said entering the room.

Nope, I was just about to sleep.

Okay, we need to talk, he said sitting on the couch.

I thought we would talk over dinner

And the that's because you came late like you always do, she cut in.

Are you angry with me, he asked with a smile.

Dad are seriously asking me that, she said angrily.

This is the first time am seeing you after arriving in New York despite the fact that we are living in the same house.

You even agreed with mum that I should get transferred.

I know you didn't do it, he chipped in.

What??

You see Jeanne, he said moving towards the bed.

I know you cannot do such thing, you may have temper, you may make empty threats when angry but you can't do such thing, he said sitting on the bed.

Dad, mom didn't even believe me, she said as tears fell from her eyes. She thought I did it.

Common she knows, she's just in a tight spot, she need some space and that's why you are here. Don't think you are kind of a burden to her.

You are defending her as if she is still married to you, she said now smiling naughtily.

Am not defending her, that's just the truth.

So we are good now, he asked.

Sure, she answered with a smile.

I promise to be always available for you now.

Am really happy tonight dad.

Yeah. By the way, your principal called me.

Her expression changed to a angry one immediately.

Dad can you believe what that man said

I know, he cut in, he told me already, he paused and look at her face.

What he said is right, you should not get involved in those kids business, they are dangerous.

But dad I can't stand bullies, she said.

Just avoid them okay, remember what happened in Toppas High, please, just promise me you won't get into trouble.

Okay Mr Salva, she said rolling her eyes.

Naughty girl, he said smiling widely.

By the way, I got you something.

Really dad ??,she said smiling like a baby.

Yeah, but I will give you tomorrow morning, sleep tight.

And don't forget to apologise to your principal tommorow.

Okay Dad, good night.

He pecked her forehead before going to his own room

NEXT MORNING.

Dad I like be the bag so much, Jeanne said as she walked towards the dinning.

She's dressed for school and her father is also dressed in obviously going to work

The present he talked about last night is a blue coloured bag.

She sat on of the chair and dropped her bag beside her before eating.

Be fast with you breakfast, so that I can drop you in school before going to work.

Dad, you know you don't really have to do that, she said jokingly.

Okay you can board a cab if you say so.

Dad!!!, I was just joking, she said rolling he eyes.

I was joking too, her dad replied with a chuckle.

Whatever, she said before grabbing her bag.

Bye dad, she said getting down from the car.

Bye baby and don't forget to apologise to Mr Donald.

Common dad this will be the 20th time you said that to me, she said 

This is just the 3rd time young lady.

Whatever, she said rolling her eyes.

At this rate your eyes fill fall off, if you keep rolling your eyes everytime

Anyways, take care, he said before driving off.

She watched as his car drove off before proceeding to her class.

How will today be, she thought.

LUNCH TIME

Hey, we didn't get to talk about what happened yesterday, Sharon said.

 They are in the locker space and Jeanne is taking some of her books while dropping some.

And that was because you had to rush to your part time job, Jeanne replied.

But seriously, how were you able to talk back at the almighty Samantha.

Is she some sort of god, Jeanne replied with an eye roll.

She just has this cold aura, thinking about her give me chills.

Truth be told I was a bit scared but I can't stand bullies I had to step out, Jeanne said.

Oh......let's go to the cafeteria, Sharon said.

You can go, I will meet you, i have to go to the principal.

Wait, is that not Michael, why is he coming towards this direction, Sharon said.

Where, she asked.

Jeanne turned to see him and their eyes met , he flashed her a smile before moving forward to where they are.
