Erica’s promise to me had me confused. After pacing to and fro in my tiny cubicle room for a full thirty minutes as I pondered on what she said to me, I finally came out and went to the kitchen. I felt like my mind was so full and was suffocating me. Maybe some time around other people would help relieve me was my thought as I walked to the kitchen.

Lunch had gone by and Stella was already working on dinner. In feeding a large household like the palace, you had to start lunch immediately after breakfast and dinner after lunch…at least that was h ow Stella did it.

She gave me a smile when she saw me, “How are you, child?”

I shrugged and that was really the best answer I could give her at that point. I have had too many go on in my life in the past few days since came here not to talk of the grievances I already had AKA my parents death and missing my sister. Now the Alpha of the pack I was a slave to was telling me that I was his mate.
