I woke up the next morning completely disoriented. What did I just dream? Was that real? No, it wasn’t real, it was a dream, a dream, and nothing more. I sat up on my bed and shook my head back and forth a couple of times before standing up to go to the restroom.
I got dressed and brushed my teeth before even having breakfast, which was very much unlike me. I was eager to see when I got outside if I would feel my way to Damien’s house, but if I were going to walk, I needed something to boost my energy, I have no idea how long I’m going to be walking.
“Good morning Abby,” my mom greeted me as I entered the kitchen.
“Morning, mama,” I greeted back.
“Did you sleep well?” She asked.
“Yeah, weird dreams, though. Very weird,” I shook my head as I recalled everything, including my dream when I napped. “It’s so
Abby had the best reaction I could have hoped for when she finally accepted the fact that I was a demon and I was proud of her for it. I let her ask questions about being a demon, about the afterlife, and how things all worked up there.“How old are you, really?” She asked with her arms crossed and she dipped her chin at me.“Twenty five,” I responded and she gave me a snarky glare that says she didn’t believe me, the corner of my lips twitched into a smile and I added, “plus two hundred.”Her eyes went wide, “You’re two-hundred and twenty-five years old?!” she leaned forward as she spoke.“Give or take a few years,” I truly had lost count, after a while as a demon, you just stop caring.Abby hummed, “What religion is right? Should I convert?” Her questions became more irrational as time wen
I got away from him as fast as possible. I couldn’t believe someone would actually say that they wanted you to go to Hell and mean it in a romantic fashion!I ran up and into my room to lay down, completely ignoring any chance of running into my mom. I had left for my walk before lunch, and my stomach reminded me that it was past dinnertime when I got home. I took a quick glance out my window and saw Damien just starting to leave, I still couldn’t believe him.Not only was he a demon, but he wanted to take me back to Hell with him and live with him there! I was too caught up with all my thoughts that I hadn’t heard my mom knock on my door, “Abby, hon, you okay?”
Day six came and I woke up early and showered for the first time this whole last week before heading out. It was raining still and my mom let me use the car so that I didn’t have to walk, I told her that I was going to the lake for some air. I still had the instructions to Damien’s house in my head and I reached his house in less than ten minutes, getting lucky with only green lights.I knocked but no one came to the door. His Tesla wasn’t in the driveway, but he had a garage, so I couldn’t be sure if he were home or not. I stood in front of his door continuing to knock obnoxiously and still had no response. He must be at work in court.Okay, I’ll just head to the courthouse and find his chambers there and speak to him that way, that will work. The drive was almost half an hour and I still had no idea what I was going to say when I reached the courthouse. His car was here, and my heart skipp
I tried my hardest not to look at her too much as she sat there nervously in the courtroom, but she was so beautiful that I couldn’t help myself at times.Officer Daniels knocked on my door and told me that there was a young woman here to see me and I knew exactly who he meant, “Let her in,” I told him and he opened the door for her.“Hi,” she greeted shyly as she walked in, her long blonde hair almost looking brown due to it being wet from the rain.“Hi,” I replied as I put my judge’s robe on a hanger to the side of my desk. I saw her fiddle with her fingers as she stood there in front of my desk, “Can I do something for you?” I asked as I sat down at my desk across from her, remembering to tread lightly. She stared at me for a moment before she spoke, “You never appeared in my dreams,” she sounded sad.&ldq
*Author’s Note: Some facts that correlate with any religion or mythology have been bent and stretched for the purpose of this story. Fact and fiction index will be placed at the very end of the book*After what happened in the courthouse with all of the lights blowing out, I had to visit the underworld and figure out what happened and why it happened in the first place. Also, whatever it was, was it normal?I waited until I got home to transport between realms, and I entered Hell just in front of my home there. Black and gray walls on the outside, two stories, modern aged Victorian style to keep up with the theme of where we were, “Hex,” I summoned the small demon and he appeared a moment later.“Lord Damien,” he greeted with a bow.“Walk with me,” I said as I began to make my way from my home down the road of hot coal towards Uncle Lucifer’s mansion. &
*Semi-Mature Content*Still perplexed by what happened at the courthouse during Damien and my kiss, I drove home in a daze, and honestly, I’m not even sure I was aware the entire time I was driving, but I made it home safely. I parked in the driveway and remained in the car for a good period of time, my head leaned back on the headrest.I had kissed other guys before, but Damien was different. The same jolt of electricity pulsed through me and I wondered if he felt it as well. When I mentioned it to him, he didn’t seem to know what I was speaking about, so I wasn’t sure.Maybe he and I were meant to be together and it was something normal whenever someone found their soulmate? If that were true, you’d think there would be posts online and books about it everywhere, and I had never heard of such a thing. Maybe my mom knows something about it.“Mama? You here?” I hol
I saw her mother’s car there and knew I would have to sneak in unnoticed, it would have to be through a window, and directly into her room. There was a large tree in the neighbor’s yard that was just high enough for me to climb to be able to reach Abby’s room and chose that as my best option. She wasn’t in her room when I peeked in, so I made the glass disappear from the window so that I could get in without any noise, then put it back as soon as I was inside. Her room was adorable and girly, with floral prints and various shades of pink, purple, and blue. Her bed was only twin size, and it only made me imagine how close we would have to be if we laid on it together.I laid on the bed mindlessly, imagining Abby with me put a smile on my face. I put my hands underneath my head and made myself comfortable as I listened to her brush her teeth in the bathroom just down the hall. Looking to my side, on the nightstand was a
My life was over. That was it, I was bound for Hell and I had no say in it. I was furious at Damien for doing this to me and especially for not giving me the choice to decide if I actually wanted to turn into a demon and be with him in the first place, that seems like a decision that should be made by me, not him.Yes, I told him to make me his, but I said it in the heat of the moment and my mind had gone to mush around him, I had no idea what I was really saying! Can I plead insanity here?I sat at my desk to get some distance from him and I stared at Damien with fury in my eyes. Slowly, I began to see him more clearly. I shook my head slightly, “Wha-” I began and blinked a few times before I asked, “Why can I suddenly count your eyelashes all the way from here?”“My bite is changing you,” he said very plainly. My hand had just been combing through his hair but it
