2021-03-16 07:09:35Damien drove me home and I stared at him the entire way there, but he didn’t look at me at all. Usually, he is stealing glances just like I was of him, but now, he was dead focused on the road. Did I say something to upset him?
He opened the car door for me and walked me to the front door of the house to see me safely inside before leaving, “Your mom will be home in just a minute, I need to get going before she sees me,” was all he said before he returned to his car and drove off. I watched his car disappear behind the other houses and my mom’s red Subaru appeared not even two seconds later. Did he see mom get in her car after we drove off?
Mom parked in the driveway and walked over to me, “What are you doing standing out front, hon?” she asked with a concerned look on her face. Her cheeks were especially rosy from the brisk air and her hair slightly ratty from the wind.

Everything happened so quickly; one moment I was standing there with Hermes making casual conversation, the next thing I know, all the souls of Heaven and Hell appear in the Garden and the battle begins.
