Curiosity drove Jason towards the gem that shone brightly in the early morning sun, it called on him, dragging him towards itself. He reached tentatively, picking it up gently. On both sides of the gem were inscriptions in a language that was vaguely familiar to him, not like any known language he knew of or he’d seen before, but for some reason he couldn’t shake off the feeling that he was supposed to understand the language, like deep down in his mind that language was locked.
It beckoned on him to read it out and soon he was caught up in it,
"Florea varecto illummino scythe-"
"JASON!, what's taking so long!" his aunt called from the kitchen cutting him Midway through whatever spell the gem had put him under,
Shaking his head to clear his mind of the haze he was in, he dropped the gem, moving farther away from it as he felt his mind race, what was he doing?,
what had he just stumbled upon?
and how the fuck did he get into this by just taking a bath?
Footsteps climbing the stairs indicating his aunt was coming to his room for her usual early morning nagging and in a flash of panic, he shoved the gem in the pocket of his jean.
Aunt Elise peeped into the room to see Jason zipping his backpack, "hey, everything okay?" she asked,
"Well I woke up with splitting headache and I did that water cooling stuff that you said was the taps regulatory function and then I had this weird dream of guardians and shadow warriors, oh and a gem I saw in my dream appeared mysteriously on my bed with some weird inscription on it, so how did that pass for okay?" he thought to himself but nodded to her in the outside.
The ride to school was quiet with Jason catching his aunt stealing glances at him in the mirror, he pretended be oblivious to her. He had other pressing concerns, like what that gem meant and how it got to his room.
The gates of crest Ville high shone in the sun as they got closer, the cheerleaders giggling in their group car so to say, and the school football team cruising in with their cars also covered the front yard of the school.
It wasn't like they were poor and couldn't afford all this, but his aunt insisted that he lay low at school and forced the principal who was very reluctant to allow such a heavily built person to escape the school team, and when he asked why she did it, all she said was she was protecting him from unwanted attention.
What other attention could he get apart from the skimpy cheerleaders and the school, he could even be eligible for a scholarship!
"so, you forgot to tell me about the parents summit today" she said breaking the silence,
oh no I didn't, I just figured that since they said parents and my mom was presumed dead, also with no whereabouts of my dad, it would be of no use to you since you're my aunt..... ,
Jason bit back the repulsive answers and looked at her calmly, anger seeping through his head,
"sorry aunt, they said parents and since you're my aunt and not my parent, well..."he replied letting her figure the rest out.
If his reply hurt her, she was good at covering it up. A tight smile at the side of her lips were the only expression she showed. She didn’t deserve that and he knew it, since he was little she had been the rock that stood by him, but most times he couldn’t help but feel like she was holding him back from his purpose in life, whatever that might be, and with this gem in his pocket, well….
He made to get out of the car when she gripped His shoulder tightly making him turn,
" I know you have questions about your parents and I haven't been......cooperative" she started,
you think? he thought but allowed her to continue,
"when you get back from school, I'll tell you all you need to know" she finished.
That totally caught him off guard, he didn't expect her to tell him anything about them, not with her freaking out whenever he asked why.
He nodded in acceptance and stepped out of the car ignoring the feeling in his gut that told him to make her spill here and then, to beg her forgiveness while he still saw her. Where had that thought come from?, of course she'll still be at home when he came back, waiting for him as she normally did, or so he hoped......

Far away,
Realms beyondAratia.....Far away, in another realm where the laws of earth held no sway and gods manifested to explain their divine will. A realm where the very air flowed with magic in its various forms stood a mansion, more like a castle that floated in the very air, held by magic in the form of runes and scripts. The walls of the mansion gleamed with gold and brass, pillars that reached up to the very sky hold the second floor of said mansion, and at the gates stood tall humanoid creatures in black metal armor, their shadows rising and twirling around them as if alive. The two moons of aratia shone brightly over the glittering mansion giving it an heavenly appearance, which was ironic as to what took place in the mansion.
Captain regron, commander of the 3rd division of the blades of Herega, goddess of storms and chaos bringer walked briskly down the hallway, nodding briefly to the lines of the panic-stricken workers that went by. He shook his head as he mused to himself, poor things he thought to himself as he moved on towards the large door that had become visible, they were only mortal with a touch of magic in their veins, they couldn't handle what they saw on a daily basis at the hands of their king who he knew to be a sick bastard.
The doors swung open and speaking of sick bastards, the man that brought darkness to this world, the man that invoked Herega the goddess of storms and first born of dradror the embodiment and deity of chaos, lord marxis tregroff the first.
Somehow regron knew that if given the chance, marxis would find a way to raise Drador himself and finally upsetting the balance of the divinities illummino and drador which the creator did.
Marxis turned from the woman that was lying on his bed to face regron who saw what he'd been doing, a pregnant woman lay on his bed with her belly slit open and the foetus outside. Regron finally understood why the goddess chose Marxis as her protege, he was bloody, no sense of pity.
Even him a creature born of the darkness felt a little pity for the pains the woman felt when he opened her up, and knowing the bastard that he was, he was sure he didn't give her any pain reducing potion.
He looked up to see a staring marxis and remembered why he was here,
"It seems your Majesty, that we have found the last elixtu" he said and continued when he got no reply, glancing at marxis who seemed to be rinsing his bloody hands in water, he continued,
"one of the sergeants posted on earth found a guardian with the gem of artemon, unfortunately the gem was lost" he said and quickly rushed in
"but we've traced it to his location, we have Jason elixtu" he said when he felt the room getting hotter.
Marxis smiled briefly and spoke softly but clearly, "find him and bring me his head and the gem", captain regron nodded and turned away walking fast out of his presence, he loved it when that happened.
He walked to the window smiling to himself,
after all these years, I've finally found you he thought, oh Jason, what have you become? he mused to himself in the moonlight......
Jason sat in the class, bringing out his iPod trying listening to music in a fruitless effort to tune out the noise of his classmates, he could barely hear the lyrics. Feeling someone tap him on the shoulder as he turned in response, in his front were the only two friends he had in the school. A tall chocolate skinned girl and a gruffly looking boy with dark hair sat smiling at him, he managed a smile, "so, what’s bothering you?" the girl asked, Terra, his brown haired female best friend was a bombshell, category A disaster class if she walked down the hall way during recess, Jason was pretty sure half the school football team wanted to date her and the nerds would have her featuring in their fantasies almost on a daily basis. Terra rectir was tall, bright blue eyes, full lips, a shape to die for and had the brains to back it off as she was the schools leading student in their science department, he had seen more than a few girls give her the stink eye as she walked
To Jason, the next few a second were a blur to him. All he knew was that he had to save his hide from whatever creature the shadows were, a quick glance at his left showed daren in wolf form, clawing at a fellow wolf, only darker and more ferocious. On his right was terra, skilfully wielding the blades and slashing at the shadow warrior, which left him with their leader. He held on to the poker stick that was used to start the furnace at home, the leader was obviously irritated by the parring of his strokes with his blade, he moved to the kitchen area and dodged a blow that would've cleaved his head off, the man grunted and moved forward when a loud whine was heard, the man turned, the shadow wolf turned to wisps of smoke as terra pushed it through the window, the leader screamed in rage and that gave Jason the edge that he needed as he swung the fry pan with its hot content on the bald headed man, he screamed in a mixture of pain and rage as his s
The sun rose high in the sky, brightening the way and everything in it. Although one can't say the same for the residents of cadesway street, the whole area looked eerily quiet, like they felt the darkness that invaded them the day before. The newspaper boy rode about delivering papers on people’s thresholds, only him and the wind walked the road. No.4 of the particular street looked strange for a start, neighbours never asked around who lived there, like it gave off bad vibes. Of course, if they knew that was where the darkness that sufficed into their lives came from, they would have a different say on the matter. The windows were locked from the inside, the blinds were drawn and the door looked like it was being worked on by a wood carver of some sorts. Inside was a whole new story, despite attempts to clean the house up, traces of a serious fight still lin
Jason stared hard at the faery, he hopped about while whistling a tune jason was unfamiliar with. He turned to terra who nodded, this was the creature who Rumpelstiltskin was fashioned after," er faery?... Rumpelstiltskin?" He said," you could call me that ikir, or four hundred other names that justify me from the twelve realms" he replied pouring a powder that daren said to be fairy dust on the ground. Jason stepped forward,"Then you know why we're here" jason said,"By all means ikir, you and your protector with your...." He stopped looking at terra as a sly smile curved up his lips,"Interesting, very interesting don't you think?, terra of house rectir" he said, Jason turned to terra, she shrugged,"What's he talking about?" He asked her, " don't know, he must have seen something" she replied, Jason bit back the reply that pushed at his
Derora rode down the hill top on her retoode, a one eyed, six limbed reptile with scaly armour as thick as metal. Its viciousness was what bonded derora to the beast of the abyss, it could trace the scent of its prey from over a mile away, that was what made it the perfect hunting creature. The roads to Vulpix were rather long and stressful, even though she took a set of veratus with her who if course do not tire or relent from their mission, it would be good if she could track the prince down in a record time. That's why she took the shortest route, the forests. Travelers don't pass the route she did due to the dark creatures that roamed the parts and the plants that devoured flesh since the rise of marxis. They didn't disturb her though, it was like they felt the anger and darkness she possessed, even the veratus kept their distance. Perhaps they were afraid of marxis rage if the mission wasn't successful. She flinched at the t
The word still rang in his head,"Bloodbonded",It had almost been a minute since he heard those words, aether knows he was seriously confused. Daren sat by the tree trunk with a very calm look, jason turned to terra,"It's a long story, the short version was that we were young and stupid, we did a stupid thing and it bonded us together" she rushed,His voice hung in my throat, after a while he talked,"How close is the bond?" He asked,"I can feel what you feel and hear your thoughts if you want, to sum it all I'm meant to be your other half" she said, Jason raked his hand through his hair exhaling, that was what illummino and the rest couldn't say, now he saw why. She was his....mate?,No,that'ssoundsanimalic,he thought,A thought clicked in his head,"How's that possible?, I've never be
It had almost been ten minutes later since daren watched over terra and jason still in the trance they were. He studied them closely and smiled, Theyactuallyfit! He thought, The only problem was neither wanted to accept, it was like they felt guilty for it, he knew the magnetic feeling they had for each other since the beginning, Aratia enhanced the feelings, it was like a driving force between them, he at least hoped they would realise they were meant for each other before it was too late. His head snapped towards the direction of vulpix, smoke rose from the distance, the smell of burning wood slowly saturating the air, his keen shifter nose catching it as it came, it didn't look like a festival fire..no, more like things were burning. Realisation seeped into him, he looked frantically at his friends, whatever they were doing, they better hurry, they were in danger... C'monterra......
To say terrena was scared out of her mind would be a terrible understatement, she was terrified, shocked, name it. Terra wasn't still sure the quick call she did to jason worked, even though she taught him how to counter it, there was a loophole around it. The thought of the prince of feys made her cold, he was legend, born from the fear and deaths he caused during the reign of maximus elixtu, Said to be the son of herandra, queen of summer and sister of refrot the king of winter, he was the spawn of a terrible taboo, an offspring between siblings, the thought of it made her cringe. He had the face and beauty of herandra, her glow and smile, but within that smile was the mask of his father refrot, his heart forged of metal and only lives to shed the blood upon the alter of refrot as a tribute to the allied god of darkness dradror. It was said his mother denied him at birth, casted him down from her kingdom at the root of the tree of wisdom and left hi

Deep within his heart he knew,Itwasover,fornow...He grunted as he stood up and surveyed the room, it was definitely a royal room, but if he recalled, the palace had been destroyed. He looked himself over to notice he was in a silk pyjama and top,Whochangedme? He thought,He moved to the doors as he drew them open, two men were s

JASONJasonfelt weightless, a novel feeling as he had either been running, killing, or dodging attacks to end his life. His body was free, like he was floating on the air. That was when his senses kicked in, the memories of the fight,Derora,Aether,Marxis,Hisdeath,Jason opened his eyes to a shinning palace, a single golden throne in the middle with men in hooded gold cloaks with hoods surrounding it, and on the throne was a face he would never forget,"Illummino" jason whispered,He radiated love and affection,"Jason alecto elixtu" he said,Immediately jason felt energy course through his body as he stood up, his body stronger, his sight sharper as he gasped,"You have ascended jason" he said,Jas
JASONHiding inside a fortress protected by a golden door and being attacked by a demonic huntress was never on jasons’ to do list, and to make matters worse,Marxis was still unconscious!!"Some king you are”jason thought angrily as he slapped his face,Marxis bolted up from the floor, groaning as he rolled amidst the earth-shattering quakes that were going on outside,"Hope you slept well your Highness?!" jason growled over the fire bolts that constantly hit the door and the sound of the Battle raging outside,Marxis still looked dazed,"Hey!" jason shouted as he snapped back to reality,"What is happening?" He shouted terrified,"Derora happened!" jason replied,"Somehow that huntress of
JASONThe iron doors of jasons’ cell opened as two shadow warriors entered. He groaned as the held him by the shoulder and roughly made him stand up, jason glanced at his mother and saw the look of resignation on her eyes, she had accepted this fate,Hers, not his.The took jason through the passages till they got to the labour grounds, men and women alike, hauling stones to build the statue of Marxis, jason clenched his Hands in anger, when he take back his throne, marxis and the statue were going to the bottom of the deepest sea in Aratia. Many people who knew jason for who he truly was nodded and the whispers of "ikir" filled the air, he smiled, even though Marxis might be the ruler, this was one thing he could never have, the respect of the people, strange considering the fact that they loathed and loved his father. Finally, jason saw Marxis in front, dressed in what looked like a silly blue ro
JASON Jasonwas asleep in his cell, Or so he tried, He could not bring himself to sleep, aside from the fact that the cell was filthy, reeked of blood, not his for the most part and he slept on nothing but bare ground that was cold, it was like his essence was pulling at him to cleanse the whole palace of any filth that resided there. And it got worse when herega arrived, I could barely keep myself from remaining dormant, with nothing to do, jason often wondered how he would cope when he was in the same room with her. Then came the explosions in the castle, from the rumors down here it seemed like herega and derora had a fall out. It seemed like the perfect opportunity was presenting itself, it was a matter of time before jason got
DERORAThe doors of the throne room opened as derora stepped in. She had returned the prince to Marxis the day before, now was time for the mage to fulfil his part of the deal. Not that she would not kill him in the end, marxis was too cunning a threat to be left alive, but derora needed to make sure no one found the parchment ever again. The useless piece of paper contained the only thing that could serve as her death,It had the last piece of her soul.Derora had once been a living being, a human warrior bordering the wastelands to the north of the loup de sang territories, not much people knew that piece of history, and she preferred to keep it that way. If any other creature could get their hands on it, it could spell her doom and she for one would like
Dedicatedtoeveryone who stillstuckby me through this adventure JASON The dry, stale air of a basement woke him up, jason groaned and cracked his rather rather stiff neck. He could only open one eye, the only sound he could hear were the dripping of water, he narrowed his eyes to see better in this dark dungeon. Yes, jason was finally at the palace. That much he knew. The only source of light was the small square window that fed little rays into this place, jason assessed himself. He was downright filthy, his cloth had the smell of blood on it. His hands were chained to the wall, jason sighed and closed his one good eye, he fought the urge to scream in pain and sadness, but this was for the good of the realm, I,thesacrificeofAratia, With a heavy sigh rumbling in his chest jason laid back on the g
DERORA Shestood in front of the cave, a look of satisfaction drawn all over her face. The prince and his cohorts were trapped inside the cave, it was all a matter of time till he came to face his fate. The energy blast he did affected deroras ability to summon the abyss, the rest of the creatures she created were gone, a few remained, the ones who fought the light until the very end. She looked at her hand as she tried to summon a black orb of energy, it only produced wisps of smoke and disappeared with the wind, she frowned, he also took something from her, she couldn't feel her full powers again, whatever magic he did must had affected her system. Derora heard the sounds of footsteps moving towards her direction, at least she could feel the energy print of the creature. Detok stood by her side, his armour gleaming in the sun like that of an executioners which he
