CHAPTER FOUR
Richard and Ciara drove to the Roberts Anderson's mansion, their body pounding with apprehension.Richard knew how his father always reacted whenever he was angry, and it's obvious he's in for a deep shits so he dreaded the confrontation that awaited him.As they entered the living room, Richard was met with the seething glare of his father, who was pacing around the room like a caged animal."Is the rumors I'm hearing true, Richard?" His father, Roberts Anderson, threw a question at him, his voice laced with anger.Richard remained silent, his eyes darting nervously around the room."Do you really think before doing anything son?" Margaret, his mother, asked, her gaze fixed on Richard."Mum and Dad, he had reasons for doing what he did and I suggest you stop interfering his life affairs because he can make decisions on himself ..." Ciara interjected, her voice trembling with fear."And who gave you the audacity to chip in on our family affairs?" Margaret snapped back."I did it because I can't continue to force myself to love someone I don't love since the beginning," Richard's voice came out in a rush, shocking both his parents."Did anyone force you to marry her in the first place? Are you out of your mind? How do you want the public to look at the Andersons now? See, young man, I gave you one week to settle everything and bring her back, or else you'll face my wrath," Anderson thundered, his face contorted with rage, before storming off to his room upstairs."Better stop that dream of divorcing Sheila because she's the only daughter-in-law we recognize and will never accept any other rash." his mother warned sternly, her words laced with an ominous tone before following his father."This is more difficult than I thought," he muttered, his voice heavy with despair.Ciara, stepped forward, her eyes glinting with determination. "Oh really? Then I'm going to help you out on this," she declared, her tone confident.Richard looked at her, puzzled. "How can you help in this situation?" he asked, hoping for a glimmer of hope.Ciara leaned in and whispered something into Richard's ear. He shook his head, his eyes wide with disbelief. "No, no, no. What if it doesn't work?" he protested."Always think positively, after all, it'll benefit both of us," Sheila chimed in, placing a reassuring hand on Richard's shoulder."Okay, we'll give it a try and see," Richard said, his tone resigned. As Alexander arrived at the hospital, he made his way to Doctor Clemson's office where he sat down anxiously and awaited the results from the lab. Suddenly, the door creaked open and a nurse entered, handing Doctor Clemson a file and left in a haste. Alexander watched as the doctor's expression changed, causing a sense of unease to wash over him."I have both good and bad news," Doctor Clemson began, but before he could continue, Alexander interrupted."Please, just tell me the bad news first," he demanded.Taking a deep breath, Doctor Clemson hesitated before finally revealing the devastating news. "The results show that due to the accident, the victim has developed Dissociative amnesia. Which was caused by a blow to her brain during the impact."Alexander's heart sank as he struggled to understand the medical jargon. "What does that mean, Doctor? Please, explain it to me in simpler terms.""In layman's terms, it means that she has lost her memory. She won't be able to remember many events of her life, including her own name," Doctor Clemson explained, his voice heavy with sympathy.Alexander couldn't believe what he was hearing. "Are you saying that she has memory lost?" he asked, his shock evident.Doctor Clemson's face was tense as he spoke to Alexander about Sheila's condition. "Her case is very severe," he said, his voice low and ominous. "Blood has already penetrated into her brain."Alexander's heart sank. "What can be done now?" he asked, his voice trembling. "And how long will it take for her to retrieve her memory?""Amnesia cases usually last for minutes, hours, or days," the doctor replied. "In rare cases, it may last for months or years. But her case is really frightening."Alexander's eyes widened in horror. "What's the good news?" he asked, hoping against hope."The good news is she's six weeks pregnant, congratulations Sir Alexander," Doctor Clemson said, reaching out his hand for a shake which Alexander took reluctantly, his mind still reeling."What is your advice about her condition at the moment?" Alexander asked, desperate for guidance. But before Doctor Clemson could answer, a nurse burst into the office. "Doctor, she's awake!" she exclaimed, before noticing the guest and running back out."Let's go and see her," Doctor Clemson said, leading the way to Sheila's room.As they entered, Doctor Clemson called out, "Can you hear me, madam?" Sheila turned to look at them, her expression blank."Who are you all, and how did I end up here?" she asked, her voice trembling."Well, you had an accident and was brought here..." Doctor Clemson began."Doctor, please stop talking. My head hurts like hell," Sheila cut him off, her eyes closing in pain.Doctor Clemson nervously asked Sheila if she could remember anything about her friends or family but Sheila, holding her head in tears, replied that her head hurt badly and begged for help. Alexander then turned to the doctor and told him her name is Sheila. However, Sheila pleaded with them to stop asking questions and get out of the room as their voice was making her head hurt even more.Alexander turned to Doctor Clemson and asked for an explanation the moment the step out.Doctor Clemson revealed that Sheila couldn't remember anything about herself as he predicted and suggested that she be taken to St Thomas hospital in London, where there are specialists who could attend to her before the situation worsened.Alexander agreed and left the room to make calls. He contacted his son Tyler who's a doctor a St Thomas Hospital and informed him of the patient he was bringing over to be taken care of. Tyler was shocked at his father sudden care towards a a total stranger and couldn't help but ask which makes Alexander cut the call abruptly."I think I take her there himself, since I had an important meeting over there in three days' time." Alexander pondered to himself after ending the call with Tyler a determined look before he made his way back to Doctor Clemson's office. "I'm taking her home now to rest before the journey tomorrow," he stated confidently. Doctor Clemson looked at him with a smile and reassured him, " Alright that's so nice of you Sir Alexander, and for the hospital bills, don't worry about it." However they had to resort to injecting Sheila before they could take her to the Westwood Estate. As they arrived, Alexander couldn't help but smile at the sight of Shiela's beautiful face.As he looked at her, he spoke slowly, "Richard believed he could deceive me, but I had everything in hand. I love your mother, but she chose that terrible man who vanished after you were born. Now, I will do everything in my ability to make you my son's wife." He stopped and gazed at her."I must say, George Henry, I am grateful for your assistance in persuading Richard to divorce her. Also a big thanks to the accident that resulted to the subsequent Amnesia. I'm very sure by the time she regained her memory, she will be already smitten with my son," Alexander chuckled as he exited the room.CHAPTER ONETwo sleek black sports cars pulled up in front of Pizzeria Da Laura.
