Her left hand flew to her lips in surprise. “What do you mean the cat is dead? That was the only woman who didn't like you.”

“You think so?” Alexander inquired, raising a brow at her. “She let me rub her this morning.”

Yulia frowned at him. “I thought that you said that she was dead.”

His lips curled upward, forming a mischievous smirk. “Well, she isn't dead.”

She swung her left arm, the impact landing squarely on his chest. He giggled as her hand collided with his chest.

“How could you lie to me?" She demanded, relief washing through her, that her cat was safe.

“I was only joking with you.” He muttered before bending over and scooping her into his arms. “Let's go home. I want you to help me with something.”

“I just came to work.” She grumbled. “I haven't done anything.”

He peered at her. “Yeah, well, I heard you fired Y.”

Pouting, she replied. “He is always giving information about me to you. I am sure that he told you that I got him fired too.”

He glanced at her instead of replying.
