Chapter 2: Hidden route

I instinctively slow down as I went through the tunnel. I can't blame myself, I didn't expect any of this! As in dang! Since when did this place exist?

A road comes across the end of the tunnel. I gaped. A green magnificent tree-lined road, canopied by the overhanging trees, that seems to be enough to shade mellow sunlight.

Absolutely, an awesome view but you don't have time for this, Myrttle! I am running late!

I set my foot on my gas and drove faster than before. I hope that this redpoint blinking on the map, not so far from me, is finally their entrance. But of course! This school never failed to pissed me off! All I can see from my spot right now is a huge Ancient arch that seems so old and ready to collapse anytime!

I fiercely step on my gas once more. But almost hit a tree as soon as I cross to the arch.

"You must be kidding me!" I roared as my car screeched before I stopped. Good thing I could still handle this crap!

A blue-like scanner just run through me while crossing the arch! And because I am not aware, it almost got me dead! They don't even warn me about this!

This is enough!

"This is too much!"

I am about to leave this place to back off. When the image in the hologram changes. The school logo appears like I just won some lottery.

"Welcome to Harrison University, Miss Joong." The USB said that widen my eyes.

What the hell?

"Please proceed to the red blinking dot on the map for your parking place." It continued that furrowed my brows.

I looked at the map again. There is a silver crest engraving the gold initials of the school. Mostly seems to be connected by red veins, which is very cool and mystic. Not mentioning some unknown wings behind the initials.

Then it shrunk and shown me the map of the actual school itself, the final one.

I convinced myself for the last time not to leave. So I start looking for the parking lot this hologram is saying. But I can't stop wondering if the huge walls I sighted earlier from the arch are theirs. Which I initially confirmed as fast as I've I reached my destination.

The university walls here at the parking lot were amusingly fifty feet tall. Are they this desperate to avoid their student do cutting classes? Too scared to lose money? Well, it's reasonably impressive. For I used to cross university walls for my escape.

I was destructed when I heard engines coming from afar, and it was Alexander's car, he's with that gluten witch! They came from a different way I took earlier. Which is far from the woods I took. That questions me a lot but I don't have a plan to ask these two. As soon as their car approaches, I came out of my car and began walking towards the gate.

"Myrttle!" Shenny called out but I prefer to pretend not to hear her. There is no way I would consider her after what she has done!

Unfortunately, she was too fast and stopped me by grabbing my shoulder.

"Myrttle. Please, don't be mad at me!" She begged, teary eyes, that I still responded with a smug.

"Having the nerve to eat those gummy worms is crazy! You know she won't forgive you, Shenny! Tss! And for god sake! You are both in your legal age! Could you please act like one?" Alexander meddled with his arms crossed.

Furrowing my brow I rolled my eyes to Shenny when she seems too sensitive for what he says.

Tss! Whatever. I still have few months to be in my legal age.

"Get lost," I spoked to end their drama and turn my back.

"But wait, Myrttle! You still don't know where to —"

I stopped, and face Shenny before she finished.

"I'm not a child anymore. I don't need any guidance from any of you just to find my way to my room." I ended and continue my pace. The wind is blowing from the woods I came from was cold. Good thing I got my jacket on, and just put my hands in its pocket.

I looked farther and notice how quiet and unusual this school was. There is no sign of people here. And the silence of the woods makes it creepier than it looks. Which is one of my reason why I chose to find everything out on my own. Not only because Shenny did offense me. But because I felt something weird in this school I must discern.

These walls, the warnings, and precautions I sighted at the forest, not to mention the school location. It's still a mystery for me why they need to be like this. Why does this school need to be in a secluded place? And why would a university need this kind of wall? Is it necessary? Or they are just hiding something?

My curiosity almost brushed off as soon as I've reached the silver gate, the entrance. Like the arch I saw in the forest, this gate didn't have any security guard or staff. Things that are too strange made me think something worst.

The gate was huge like the arch earlier, connecting the twenty feet walls that seem to be elevated as far as it goes.

This time, I've heard many noises from the parking lot I left, and it must be their students. I wonder what road they took to come here. Anyways, I don't dream of asking any of them. A flock of branded spoiled brats and jerks I don't dream to face in my mood right now. I just hate their presence since birth. So I set foot in the university that soon leaves me dumbfounded.

I am trying to hide my amazement as I stopped and look at the very inch of view my eyes could reach. There is no way this place could exist!

The school itself was immense! The gothic structures of every building make it more cool and sophisticated with 10 floors each. Not mentioning the massive clock tower at the middle that's doubling the height of each building. It also has a cool brick ground that intensifies the garden motif of the school ground.

I looked farther and confirm that the walls behind this university go higher and almost cover the mountain view behind. Which made me anxious for some reason.

I got destructed when the noises came near me. So I advance to find my room, it's better to be there first than to deal with their 'new-student-stares' which I hate.

Okay! This is it!!!

Myrttle immediately found the Business administration building as she strolled. Good thing there is a signboard for new students like her.

Surprisingly, an old man is seating at the information desk as she took her entrance to the building. She never expected to see school staff, but this man came out weird for her.

He's staring at Myrttle without any flinched or even welcoming smile like the usual school staff she knew. However, the strange stare of that man never bothers Myrttle. Instead, she just ignore him and was about to take the golden elevator near the information desk. But as soon as she pushed the down button, the man spoke.

"Myrttle Joong, Room AB 303," he confirmed that made Myrttle face him out of creep. She didn't even show this guy any information about her, yet he just told something specific like that.

Myrttle manages to face him with a smug. "Ah, Yes?"

But the old man smiled and spoke again, "Please took the silver one right beside you. Sixth floor." He continued as he turn his head to the entrance again as if he's expecting another student to enter.

"Whatever." She whispered, rolling her eyes, but still follow that mans' instruction.

The silver elevator was about to shut off when a guy aged like Myrttle stopped it. His hair color was grey which only highlighted his pale skin.

"C-Can I?" The guy asked for Myrttles' permission, their stare collided. But it seems like Myrttle doesn't have any care at all. But he was stunned the moment he recognized her face.

"Sure, what floor?" She coldly asked without any tone of joy.

"S-Sixth floor." He stuttered as Myrttle pushes the same button as his.

Upon arriving on the 6th floor. He choose to part ways with Myrttle and Immediately entered a dark empty room as he dialed his phone.

"Hello, Sir?" He started, as he snicks a pick on the window spaces, trying to see where is Myrttle going.

"She's here." he continued as the person he is speaking puffed.

"Myrttle Joong?" the other line confirmed.

"Yes, Sir."

The voice changes into a serious one, "Okay, well done."

"What else do you want me to do to her?" Davian, the grey-haired guy, didn't know what next he can do after finding this girl.

"Oh, none. Just keep an eye on her," it answered and ended up the call.

"Copy, Sir. " Davian grimaced almost losing his voice when he saw a blank blazing stare on his side. Sneaking at Myrttle like him.

"Who is she?" A blond guy with a straight face asked, enough to made Davian stiffed. He knew this guy, who could forget their name?

Hunt Spark, a mysterious guy who's been following Davian without him noticing.

"Nothing," Davian answered trying to convince him he's saying the truth.

Hunt stared at him for a moment and let a breath out. "Okay." he continued making his way out of the room, keeping his hands under his pocket. But before leaving he spoke something that made Davian froze.

"Not because, I didn't ask you more, means I buy your reason, Davian Yatsumi.

I'll let this slide for now but will never promise to let you escape next time. So watch your action. You know what will happen with one wrong move." Hunt warned before leaving the room.
