I went back inside as I heard Lothaire having a word with Azael. He met my gaze as I went close to him. Delight filled his face as he acknowledged my presence. The servant bowed and left.

“Custard Apple…” I uttered as I saw a platter of Cherimoya. It granted my nose a sweet scent and taste of vanilla.

“The fruit is intended for the ceremony, my lady,” he replied.

It has been three consecutive days from the first time I testified souls in trial and the judges declared I already mastered it. I sat on the bed whilst I waited for him here in our chamber. I received a sudden knock on the door. I ceased what I was doing and spoke, “You may enter.” I tried to look at who it was. Lothaire came inside holding a piece of scroll and he closed the door. His helm was on his left hand and he placed it on the bedside table. “My love…” he greeted, “I apologize that I kept you waiting.” “I do not mind,” I told him as I hid the illustration behind my back. When he called for a short period of rest, he headed towards my direction and took the weight of his feet. “Are you doing alright?” he asked whilst he breathed heavily. It has been fourteen days and we have not heard anything from Lothaire. “One hit to the chest!” Braska exclaimed and I threw a blazing ball of azure fire to the warrior. He fell as I aimed my sword. I spent all the days in the training grounds for I know I will need it. The warrior rose upright and a hole in his gear was visible. He stepped aside to take off his cuirass and plackart vambrace. “Let him rest,” I told Braska and she ordered the next combatant to come forward. The warrior rushed towards my direction, and I dodged his sword as I parried. He kicked his left foot to wound me with his sabaton. However, I grabbed his leg, and he stumbled on the ground. Swiftly, he stood and advanced towards me but I intercepted his blade. The sound of our swords as they clang and whistle in mid-air filled the abode. “He is the best warrior, my queen!” Braska yel
