Lothaire’s Demesne

Palace

I held the reins of the pegasuses as the earth parted to give way.

Before I left the mortal realm, mother told me she was grateful I became the consort of the underworld god. She told me Lothaire deserved my entire existence for I was solely made for him. She told me she was certain I would reign the whole dominion with all of my being. I agreed on her statements as I gave her an embrace and I told them I was grateful to hear their explanations.

I swiftly returned to my demesne as I tried to devise by thinking how I would express all I found out to Lothaire. I entered the gates and flew above the river Styx when I saw the waters ceased. Astoundment filled my face for it seemed like the souls froze within the stream. The ferry was out of sight, and I found Catori laying at the banks of the river as well.

I brought to mind he might have been taking a rest.

“Custard Apple…” I uttered as I saw a platter of Cherimoya. It granted my nose a sweet scent and taste of vanilla. “The fruit is intended for the ceremony, my lady,” he replied. “I reckon you offered them once to the goddess,” I stated whilst referring to his former consort, “She ate seven seeds.” “Indeed,” he responded, “She consumed seven seeds as an assurance of her return here in my realm.” “It made her bound here…” I softly uttered. “Not at all, little flower,” he countered, “If it made her bound here she would not be able to visit the land of the living.” I slowly nodded in his statement. “However, she failed to come back…” I barely whispered. “This day and age, I would be offering them to you,” he replied. “If I accept it, I solely hope there would be no other goddess you would offer them as well,” I stated and he let out quite a smirk. “Worry on no account, little flower,” he confiden

•PHAELIN• THE DAY BEFORE THE DESTINED ENCOUNTER I took small steps as I wandered in the ruins of an ancient temple. The place was familiar. The soothing breeze made me halt. “Phaelin…” A voice once again. I turned my back to see who it was. Then, I saw a stern and unyielding man walking towards me. Lothaire. He was holding his helmet and his onyx-colored cape danced with the wind. The rhythm and weight of his footsteps matches with the beat I feel on my chest. I met his calm gaze. “Why am I here?” I asked. He stopped and stood in front of me. He replied, “You do not have to know.” “Why are we here?” I asked once again, emphasizing the first word. Every graceful blink of his eyelashes makes me want to be drowned in his profound, eerily serene eyes. Always a relentlessly cold combination of azure and ash. He gave me a deep sigh and smiled, “You would not understand and the Weavers would not let me declare it.”

My whole existence could sense a thing. I deeply tried to ignore it, but I could not. Slowly, their voices faded in my ears. I can only hear the beat inside my chest and the way I breathe. “I wish to know my true purpose—to successfully find the answers I am seeking. I wish to know who I truly am,” I uttered inside my head and gently opened my eyes. The indistinct sounds went clear. I looked at everybody. At that moment, I blew the candle. A strong wind passed by for a second and it made everyone halt. Its coldness brought shivers to our spine. Some of the glasses fell from the tables. The hanging decorations moved. The silence was quite deafening. “The weather was fair earlier,” Marquis wondered. I was still staring at th

As he took large steps, he took big breaths. He grasps me in his embrace like a bride being carried by her groom. I carefully observed where we were heading, keenly not making movements. The voices were still singing like an orchestra, bringing pleasure to my ears. He took steps on the stairs before finally stopping in front of a massive entrance. It was filled with ornate patterns of metals and gems. The doors opened by themselves. A group of people stood before us and greeted in unison, “Welcome to the Palace!” they exclaimed. All of them bowed in harmony. I tried to be steady as confusion filled my thoughts. I failed to remember a single thing about a palace nor pl

I sat on my throne, smiling, recalling the events of the previous night. The supper we had seemed like a reunion for both of us. Her presence made me feel at ease. The dinner was a lengthy discussion and explanation. However, I would take some time and wait patiently. I understand she is still perplexed by the events. Mortals are delicate beings, and I cannot predict her since she is one. Everything should be taken slowly and carefully. I cannot afford to lose a thing too precious. I recalled our exchange of words as I escorted her back to her chamber to rest. “Thank you…” she mouthed as I opened the door for her. The dinn

Hence, I left a scroll containing the message that if she ever wishes to hear enlightenment on what she saw, I will be anticipating her in the palace’s library. The possibility for her not to appear pricks every vein I have in my body. However, what I need is optimism. I stared at the shelf full of books. I knew the hard bounds will enthrall her so I brought her here. I patiently sat and gazed at the surroundings. After a few minutes of ever and a day, I heard slow footsteps from the hallway and it brought a tremor to my core. She might be furious or she might be utter her desire to leave. I am afraid of where our discourse will lead both of us, above all. Within a second, the door opened, revealing a breathtaking beauty. Phaelin walked towards my direction—every step rhythmic

I went outside my chamber early at daybreak for I could not sleep any longer. I saw the goddess of wisdom and knowledge was training on her own. I joined her in the Palace Grounds as we came to an agreement of having a duel with another. I changed my wardrobe and took my battle equipment. We positioned ourselves on the center as we started. I parried the blade of Naeitha as she advanced in front of me. I gripped my sword tightly as I pushed the weapon towards her. I took a step on the side, and she opposed my attack. She yelled, “I want to ask you a thing!” I held my sword above my left shoulder as I answered, “What is it?” “I was certain you were shedding a tear the night before,” she shouted in return as she swung her sword and I dogged on

I slowly shook my head as I closed my eyes. I was certain I am solely building the occurrences inside my mind. I was certain I am in my reverie at that point in time. I should not be deceived once again. I opened my eyes and reached for the knob of the door. However, an obsidian mist slowly pulled me closer to his direction. Before I left our kingdom, he was nowhere to be found and his words even brought devastation to my inner being. Underworld RealmLothaire’s DemesnePalace•PHAELIN• Our lair seemed cold for the past few days for I have not exchanged a word with Lothaire since our last discourse. I do not know if he was steering clear of the occurrence, or he was simply occupied by the preparations under way. I keenly observed the servants from the balcony as they were embellishing the newly built fountain at the center of the Palace Grounds. The elevated structure enclosed by a balustrade was central and gracious. I noticed the ornamental parapet had a tinge of gold and ink blue whilst I opened a scroll. It was from the goddess of marriage. At that point in time, I was certain Bryndis heard the news in Solum and have sent a message through Awen
