Chapter 5 The Ferris Wheel Was Tampered

After Henry took the fetus away, he sent Sophie home.

"Mr. Cadden, here's your warm water," she said.

He smiled and tapped her nose affectionately. "You remembered, even though I only mentioned it once."

'So, this is his home too, huh? No matter where he is, there's always a warm cup of water waiting for him,' I thought bitterly.

Henry seemed to have thought of something after he drank the water. Ignoring Sophie's attempt to make him stay, he hurried out the door.

As soon as he left, Sophie carelessly tossed my baby into the trash can. "Heh. Your mom is really a big loser. She couldn't beat me while she was alive, and now she's dead and can't even protect you."

I watched helplessly, wanting to reach out and hold my baby, but every time I tried, my hands went right through her. I couldn't touch her.

"I'm sorry, my baby," I sobbed, squatting next to her tiny form. "It's my fault. In your next life, find a better mother. Don't come back to my belly."
