Third POV
“Congratulations.”
“Mrs. Miles, you're pregnant with quadruplets, two boys and two girls. You ought to take an ante-natal check up more seriously.”
The doctor announced it to Estella. Despite being told to be carrying four babies, she jumped up so high in the air, squealing.
Then the tears came. She sniffled, trying to hold back tears of joy as she stared at the test result on the medical result sheet. A tear dropped on the paper which she gently dipped in her finger.
“Doctor, is this true?” She asked with a sniffle. “The doctors said I'll never be able to have a baby because of a rare genetic disorder. Oh my God! Cameron and I are having four babies!” She raised her voice as she spoke to the doctor, almost crying.
The doctor came closer and pulled her into a light hug. “I understand your plight but sometimes it's good to hang on,” she whispered into her ears.
It was quite uneasy for Estella to believe that such a beautiful thing could happen to her after all the sufferings and emotional turmoil she's been through.
It’s been five years since she became the wife of a famous billionaire capitalist. Being from a royal descent, she's expected to marry someone of noble status but Cameron isn't in any way noble in character.
Estella has had to endure a lot of insults and abuses from Cameron, still he never stopped to make sure she suffered. He called her a man as often as possible and regretted getting married to her because she couldn't give him a baby.
Even when Estella was tested and acclaimed barren for life, she didn't give up hope and her fertility treatment. In the end, it paid off much more than she expected.
She brushed the tear away with her free hand, smiling.
Today was her husband's birthday and she had for a long time thought of what to give him as a birthday present without arriving at any idea. This would be the most perfect of all birthday gifts. She clutched the file to her chest, then carefully placed it in a folder inside her bag.
She left the hospital, smiling so wide and walked to her car where her driver was already waiting for her.
“Ma'am, you're off work so early? Why did you call me so early to pick you up?” Her driver was quite puzzled. Working as an urologist and clinical massager in the same hospital, her work shift ends in the afternoon but this was just 10 AM.
“I have some important news to deliver to my husband,” she uttered, flinching her head over to the window to hide the smile on her lips.
While waiting for the traffic light to turn green on the road, an idea came to mind. She decided to G****e through her phone for the best surprise approaches to announce a pregnancy. She wished to surprise her husband.
“Who's at the door?” Cameron’s hoarse voice came through the moment he heard the visitor's alarm tone ring on the door. It was an automated one that could identify and speak out the name or description of the person on the door.
This wasn't at home but the hotel where he was lodging. It's been a long time since he slept at home. He goes from the hotel, one of his very own to his office, still at the hotel vicinity or outside, depending on which office he wanted to work from on a particular day.
“Estella is here to see you, Mr Miles,” the AI answered immediately with a steady voice.
“I don’t expect to see her.” He was indirectly telling the digitized door not to open for her.
After a few seconds, the voice spoke up again. “She says she has very critical news, you should let her in.”
Cameron sighed, but his eyes suddenly glanced at the documents just sent by the lawyer, and his tone changed “Let her in.”
The door opened and Estella walked in, sniffing in the nice scent of the room, as well as admiring the interiors of his apartment here.
“No wonder you don't like coming home. Home is where the heart is,” she shrugged her shoulders in a bit to emphasize her point.
“I don't know what home is with you,” she replied with a cold voice.
He frowned the more when he noticed her still smiling, he always loved to see her in pain. This angered him the more. He rose up with fury in his eyes but acting cool.
“Why are you here?” His voice came out really harsh, just like always.
Estella swallowed painfully. Her smile faded but she managed to gather some strength to say what was in her mind. “I just wish his mood will change after announcing this,” she muttered inside of her.
“Today’s your birthday and I thought I could give you a priceless gift that will make you happy. Don’t you think it’s time you smile right at me? I've been missing this for so long.”
“Huh?” She asked further when there was no response from him.
“Smile at you?”
Estella nodded, then took closer steps to the couch he sat on. She pulled out a fancy parcel from her bag, handing it over to him.
“What’s this?”
“Probably, you have to open it and go through it yourself,” she said, winding her eyes in amusement.
The parcel contained the medical result sheet from the hospital, she just decided to add a piece of suspense by putting it in a parcel.
Cameron didn’t open the parcel to see what was in there but rather tore it into two with all his strength. He threw the paper pieces at Estella.
Estella shrieked in horror, raising her brows in horror. This felt like a dream before her eyes.
“Did you just tear the priceless gift I gave you?”
“Aren't you too old to try to impress me with useless things? You know what I actually need and you can't give me. Why did I even marry you at all?”
Third POV“Aside from your status as a princess and a doctor, you're just worthless. No wonder no one loves you in your family.” “I warned you to stay away from my presence. I'm so ashamed to have people call you my wife, I would rather marry a fellow man than you who can't give me any baby.” His face turned stone cold and stared at her with terror. “You thought you could manipulate me into smiling at you by playing pranks on me again?” “I'm tired of you! Honestly tired of you!” He barked. “Cameronnnnnn!” Her heart fell upon hearing these words of his. They were much more painful than a two-edged sword. “And stop trying to act like a good wife because no matter your pretense, you're still not eligible to be my wife. I will always root for the woman I have at heart, soon she'll be out in public.”At this point, Estella couldn’t help with the tears that rolled down her cheeks. “I'm sorry I couldn't make you happy, I never knew I had a genetic disorder before marrying you. My family
Third POVShe even wondered if she had told him outright that she's with quadruplets, he might not have handed her the divorce letter. She blamed herself for putting in the suspense. Upon pulling up at the gate of their luxury estate, Estella’s heart dropped like she was going to have a heart attack. She got out of the car slowly, her eyes looking at the magnificent mansion she has called a marital home for four years. “Could this be the last time I'm seeing this?” She whispered to herself. She walked slowly inside the ground floor and entered the elevator, going straight to the third floor where her apartment with Cameron was. For months now, they stopped sharing a room but their rooms were on the same floor. She saw the servants busy packing in some luggages, she traced the place they packed it into and it was Cameron's apartment. “What's going on here?” She barked, announcing her presence. Everyone paused, staring at her with shock, some were confused. “What's going on here?”
Third POV“I feel so bad even giving you my previous time to explain things,” she sighed. “Shut up. You bitch!!!” “Cry of a desolate bitch. Nothing much!” Riana lashed out, walking into the apartment, then came out to pick some more things. “Get these things in, stop looking at us like zombies!” She lashed out at the servants who scurried into the apartment with the remaining luggages. She dismissed them thereafter, in as much as they would want to stay and see the end of the feud between these two sisters, they couldn't. Estella closed the gap with Riana, speaking directly to her face. “I'm sorry if you see me as infertile but let me shock you, I have four babies inside my womb for Cameron.” Riana’s jaw dropped, she began moving backward while Estella advanced towards her. “It doesn't matter who first gave birth, your baby isn't a legitimate son. He never married you but me and I'll make sure I expose this secret baby to the world–” Her speech was cut short by Riana who pulled
Third POVAdrian nodded. “You shouldn't worry about that, you're fine now. The chemical sprayed on you by your sister as reported to me is very dangerous with an eighty-nine percent chance of not making it. I spent nearly thirteen years studying chemicals like this.” “Don't tell me you flew in from whichever country you were to save me?” Adrian was a bit confused but he managed to reply to her. “Yes. I did. You know you're such a lovable personality known worldwide. Even when some of you don't love you, there are people who do.” His last statement stuck in her mind, refusing to go away. “--There are people who do–” She repeated in her mind. “Could he be one of them? Come on, I don't even know him and I'm so impressed by his aura.”“What's going on?” She thought to herself. Meanwhile, Adrian was still speaking words of encouragement to her. Upon sensing that she was lost in thought, he tapped her on the shoulder. “Alright, have some rest. You will be discharged soon. I've got to a
Third POV“I’m really happy tonight.” Riana giggled as she intertwined her hands even more with Cameron’s own as they made their way towards the hall for the dinner gala they organized to make their secret marriage. All of the royal family members got to be in attendance, getting tongues wagging. So many people thought they would be the first to kick against this marriage since Cameron was first married to Estella. The truth was they loved Riana and couldn't kick against whatever she did. Riana was dressed like a queen, accompanied by her man, Cameron. Both looked like the real king and queen, then entered the hall amidst flashes of cameras from the reporters that were invited to cover the event. Cameron's phone had most of his colleagues from the business world sending in congratulations and a happy married life even when some of them were not actually in support of this marriage. They just wanted to maintain good business terms with him seeing how successful he was. “Why aren't
Third POVFinally, the event drew to a close. His heart beat faster, he couldn't wait to arrive at the hospital and check out Estella’s ward. “She must be working there,” he said to himself. Riana accompanied him to the car stand where she hoped to get into the car with him. She waited for him to open the door for her as usual but he stood there glancing to the floor like in deep thought. “I'm sorry but you'll have to call my driver to come take you home. I'm heading somewhere.” “Where? The hospital? To see Estella?” Riana dropped all her questions at once, looking so eager to get responses to them all. “But we're now officially married?” She asked Cameron, grabbing his arms. “I'm gone!” He got into the car, slamming the door against her. He started the car, reversed and zoomed off to the shock of everyone around. Riana turned around seeing everyone gazing at her, she shouted in anger, “Fuck you asshole!” She took to her heels upon gathering her ball gown to get a taxi by the sid
Third POV He kept quiet and turned around walking out of the hospital room. Adrian turned to his crush with a heavy sigh. “Don't you mind him.” He said to Estella. “You deserve much better!” “But why are you showing me so much care? Do you like me?” Estella couldn't keep this till later, she wanted to know Adrian’s intention as soon as possible, starting from why he flew in to save her. It wasn't part of his duty, it wasn't even an obligation but a sole voluntary task on his part. Now she wanted to know the reasons. Adrian twitched his lips, switching his gaze to the bedside table. He lingered for a while before pulling up with a response. “You're the best urologist in my hospital and I have to do everything possible to keep you because I'll need you one day.” His response startled Estella. She blinked her eyes several times in shock. This isn't what she was expecting. “--I'll need you one day–” “What does he mean by this?” A ripple of suspense cascaded over Estella. “I hope t
Third POV “Yes, I am but I want a man who will treasure me during this pregnancy.” She groaned. Chloe frowned at her wish which made her seem quite irrelevant. Being best of friends, she has tried her absolute best to make sure Estella feels special and loved till she found a better husband, yet she was saying this. “I'm honestly not pleased by your statement,” she openly told her. “Am I not trying my best to help you in this condition, at least till you find a husband?” “Yes, you are but I need a man. A man's attention is different!” “Then go find a man then,” Chloe uttered, walking back into the room but Estella sprang up, grabbing her waist. She laughed. “Are you mad at me? I'm so sorry. Just that you don't get what I mean.” “You need a man!” Chloe repeated. “Not like that,” Estella defended herself. “I just want Adrian, he's so charming and I've been thinking of him throughout these three weeks. I can't even have a proper sleep because of him and even when I manage to sleep
