Chapter 2

Third POV

“Aside from your status as a princess and a doctor, you're just worthless. No wonder no one loves you in your family.”

“I warned you to stay away from my presence. I'm so ashamed to have people call you my wife, I would rather marry a fellow man than you who can't give me any baby.”

His face turned stone cold and stared at her with terror. “You thought you could manipulate me into smiling at you by playing pranks on me again?”

“I'm tired of you! Honestly tired of you!” He barked.

“Cameronnnnnn!” Her heart fell upon hearing these words of his. They were much more painful than a two-edged sword.

“And stop trying to act like a good wife because no matter your pretense, you're still not eligible to be my wife. I will always root for the woman I have at heart, soon she'll be out in public.”

At this point, Estella couldn’t help with the tears that rolled down her cheeks. “I'm sorry I couldn't make you happy, I never knew I had a genetic disorder before marrying you. My family pushed me out even when I wasn't totally prepared to start a family.” Estella felt her excuse sounded lame but her marriage to Cameron was arranged by both her family and Cameron's family in order to strengthen the tie between them. Estella’s family holds the political world while Cameron's, the business world. Both families thought that by joining both children in marriage, even against their wish, will bring lots of benefits to them. Cameron didn't have a noble character, he's harsh and cold which made Estella, the less loved between her and her twin sister pushed to Cameron.

So far the union has been a disaster, but both families gained what they actually wanted.

The one Cameron truly wanted was her twin sister, Riana. He made several advances to her but she bluntly refused him because of his cold nature, even though he wasn't cold towards her.

“I know you didn't want me but I'm so sorry things turned out that way. Couldn't you just forget the past and face the present?”

“I'm focusing right on the present now but I doubt if I have a future with you.” Cameron snapped to Estella’s greatest shock.

He picked up the files on the table which he had planned on returning home to give to Estella. “Here, these are for you.” He muttered with a cold voice and a face without emotions that Estella couldn't even guess what it's about until she read it.

“What?” Estella balled out her eyes, taking a deeper look at the files, then back at Cameron.

“We are done.”

“Wh…what do you mean? Hope you're kidding right now?” She stared at him feeling numbness all over her body, her hands shaking.

Cameron said nothing but glared at her.

Seeing that he wasn’t answering her, she shook her head in horror. Tears rained down her eyes in droplets, she couldn't get hold of them again.

“Divorce? Why?” She said every word with her heart breaking into pieces.

“I want nothing to do with a man as I do say. Riana is one woman I've always loved from the beginning. I'm glad she's kind enough to give me a chance to know the great love I have for her.”

“No!!!”

“This can't be!” Estella sobbed, shaking her head. “My sister never wanted to see you, how's this even possible? Tell me you're saying this to hurt me, I'd be okay. Just tell me you're lying,” she pleaded.

“Hmm,” Cameron scoffed.

“We've been dating for two years now, a trial date and she has seen the whole of me. She declares me worth keeping.”

“When I asked her to be my wife, she readily agreed.”

“I'm sure she'll give me the joy and babies I've deeply wanted all this while.”

Estella sank to her knees trying to grab Cameron's legs but he moved away from her as though she's dirt.

“I've already made up my mind. I don't want you!”

“Nothing you ever do will make me want you. You should be glad I'm honest with you,” he said to her. At this point, Estella had cried her eyes out. The last time she felt this kind of pain was when her family went on a family vacation abroad without her even when she was on leave and single by then. They told her she didn't belong. It was an outright rejection, same as she's witnessing now.

“I want you to return all the gifts I bought for you all the while we've been together, drop them at the estate and get only your personal belongings and leave!” He barked at her.

“Never let me set eyes on you again.”

It was sure to turn out a huge gossip when the receptionist at the ground floor of the hotel saw her crying. They were popular for spreading rumors in the hotel but this time, nothing mattered for Estella. The news of their separation will be out anywhere, it doesn't matter who will spread it or how fast it will be announced.

She walked through the grounds of the five-star hotel to the parking lot where her driver was waiting for her. She'd already cleaned her eyes, she was sure to get some paparazzis recording her if they saw her crying.

Being a less loved princess at home didn't stop her from getting attention from paparazzis who are always looking for fresh rumors to spread. She didn't want to answer any questions from her driver either.

When she got into the car engine, her driver started the engine and reversed out of the parking lot. “Take me to the estate,” she muttered and turned her face towards the window. This was the very last thing she said, the rest of the journey had her submerged in her thoughts creating a gloomy silence in the car.

She still wished this was a joke. As she often believed everything will be alright, she had no hope now. Little did she know that her hope would fail her this time.
