The interview would take place in a meeting room.
There was a big squared table at the center with a file in front of each seat.Since there wasn’t no names identifying seats, I picked a chair near the window as the other candidates were getting to their seats. We would be interviewed by the CEO himself and three department directors, the ones needing employees. The positions at stake were management assistant, Marketing Coordinator, Sales assistant, financial advisor and engineering consultant. They would put the people that applied for the same position in a group so they could analyze who had the better profile to do the job.So, the interview with this group would be about the management assistant, the position I applied for.The worst thing ever is when people with great backgrounds get to talk first. The CEO, Dylan Montgomery, was sitting at one end of the table and instead of listening to candidates while they talked about their experience, he would just look out the window. He should be the most interested in this meeting since the position we were getting interviewed for was for his department.Whenever the candidates finished talking he would just ask“Is there anything else you want to add?” With a predator stare. That was getting the shit out of me.When I got to talk he glared at me and a small side smile appeared. I knew I was doomed and worst of all, I knew he knew it!My voice cracked the second I got to speak.I cleared my throat and started telling my story and my little experience. I finished so fast that if they served us coffee, it wouldn’t be yet at the table by the time.I was so embarrassed I wished the earth opened and swallowed me whole. Why did I think I could make it? That small talk about the worst thing that can happen if you try is hearing no it’s bullshit. You can get humiliated. You must know your place and I didn’t know mine, apparently. And it showed for everyone else to see.A candidate guy, the only male who applied for that position, gave me a sneer laugh and shook his head.Mr Montgomery glared at him briefly and said nothing. He didn’t ask me if there was something I wanted to add to my presentation. He just dismissed us.“All of you can go. Lydia will give you further information while we ponder this. Have a nice day, ladies and gentleman”As I walked past Mr Montgomery, I could feel his eyes burning the left side of my body, sending shivers all over it.Lydia, the lady who got us to the meeting room, gave us the additional information how the selection process would be.We would get a call from her by the end of the day to tell us if we succeed or not.She warned us to be prepared for the call because she would only call once. If we didn’t pick up that would mean we were not really interested in getting the job.On my way home I called Mikayla to share how things went. I wasn’t so confident I would get good news so I decided to kill my sadness with ice cream.Although I wasn’t that confident I was glued to my phone waiting for the blessed call.I didn’t get it, tho.“I understand I was not the most qualified person in the room but she said she would call even if we didn’t succeed” I tell Mikayla while getting a huge spoon of ice cream into my mouth.“Maybe she didn’t have time to do so?” Mikayla tried to soften my mood. “There were so many people in there, maybe she will call tomorrow… I don’t think she will reach everyone today, there were thirty candidates at least. It’s impossible to call all of them in one day”“I hope you’re right. I really need a job soon or I’ll be homeless soon.”The following two days I was done waiting for Lidya’s call. I started applying again for other jobs but didn’t get any replies. It was Friday night and I was freaking out. How could I just move from my hometown without getting a job first? How could I really just on my savings when all I had left after Kevin was not enough to make a living for a month in a small town, let alone in a big city.I was almost pulling my hair from my head when my phone rings. It was an unknown number. As soon as I pick up, a familiar deep voice asked“Am I talking to Elena Moore?”“Y-Yes… who is it?”“I’m Dylan Montgomery and I want to propose a deal”“W-What?”“I’ll be at Saint Mary Hotel tomorrow by 9am. We’ll discuss the matter in detail. Don’t be late. I hate waiting for too long”I didn’t get the chance to process the information and the phone went mute. That would be a long night since anxiety was chewing me inside out.I’ve frozen in place as soon I stepped out of the cab and looked up. Saint Mary Hotel was a freaking castle. I manage to climb the stairs with trembling knees. Fear winning over me. At the entrance, a host drove me to the restaurant where Mr Montgomery was waiting. How the hell did the host know who I was, had no fucking idea. “Sit.” Mr Montgomery ordered coldly. “Good morning, sir” I try showing him how to greet someone. “Read this” he slides a paper across the table with marriage contract in capital bold letters. “What is this?” I ask, trying to convey my disbelief in this awkward situation. “Are you capable of reading, Miss Moore?” This bastard… “I am capable, indeed, but as you must acknowledge, this is not a very common situation, is it? Perhaps, marriage contracts are something you do as a regular habit?” I’m definitely pissed. Why do rich people look down on others? He smiles, a cute dimple showing. “I was wondering if an apparently innocent little girl from a sma
I felt numb. Everyone around us were excited to hear me saying yes. I was doomed, for sure. My life ended from this moment on. I wanted a quiet life and successful life, far away from the eyes of others. I had my share of a shitty life back in my hometown, having an awful childhood and bad romantic relationships along the way to adulthood. It seems I have a bad luck with men so I wanted to keep distance from them in this town. For a moment, I contemplated murder.“Say yes!” Someone shouted and the others followed. “Say yes, say yes!” I felt the pressure in my bones, they were singing in my ears and I gave up. “Yes.” My voice sounded lower than usual. “Louder!” Someone asked. “I SAID FUCKING YES!” I snapped and Mr Montgomery put the ring on my finger before stand standing up. Then, pulled me into his arms and brought his mouth near my ear. “Now, put a smile on your face, this is the happiest day of your life besides our wedding day. I’ll hold your hand and bring you out. The day after I signed the contract, Mr Montgomery himself came to help me move early in the morning. Our faces were all over the news and I didn’t want to be seen with him anytime soon. I insisted he didn’t need to since I just had a backpack but he didn’t believe me. I didn’t get the chance to say goodbye to Mikayla before leaving. She was at work so I sent her a message. I wished I could be friends with her since she helped me so much. “You only have this?” He asked grabbing the backpack “you could just go without it”“Don’t look down on me, all I had was stolen the first day I arrived in town and I didn’t have enough money to spend on a whole bunch of new clothes, so… whatever! Give me that!” I tried to take it from his hand but couldn’t succeed. “In that case, we won’t be going home yet”We got into the car and we went to a fancy clothing store where all they have were luxury brands. Whenever I touched something, I would search for the price tag. A simple skirt would cost
On the wedding day, things went very wrong from the start. His mother was an arrogant person trying to diminishing me regarding my origins. Because that scene at Saint Mary Hotel was all on the news, media started digging into my life and spreading all kinds of stories. “I don’t understand how my son, a successful man, would marry an unknown woman. He had always been with actresses, singers and models. Women who had a name.” She said as Mrs Marble helped me get into the dress. Mrs Marble shook her head slightly as she looked at me. Maybe my face reflected how bloodthirsty I was. I kept my mouth shut in order to end this conversation faster but the shitty lady wouldn’t allow. “Sorry, but I just can stay here watching my son as he destroy his life, his reputation” she said, sitting comfortably on the armchair in my room, not moving a finger. “It’s not personal, I hope you understand what my worries are, I need to get him out of this” “Please, do it, Mrs Montgomery. As soon as his lips touched mine, I felt every muscle in my body stiffen. He deepened the kiss, running his tongue through my mouth with a ravenous rhythm. Without breaking the kiss, he lift me up and lead my legs around his waist. We hear the dress rip along the sides of both my legs but we couldn’t care less. Before I could think of it, I felt my back touching the bed as he positioned himself between my tights without breaking the kiss. A wave of pleasure starts to build at my center as i feel his hardness. He moved slightly and a growl escaped him. I tried my best to fight a moan as he grabbed my ass with both hands, pressing me with his body against the mattress. I didn’t sucede, I mut say. One of his hand reach my underwear putting it aside as a finger slipped into my wetness. “Oh… god” my waist started moving on its own at the rythm set by his hand. His other hand traveled to my chest, uncovering my breast. A second finger found its way inside me as he closed his mouth ar
My ex-boyfriend was a gambler. He was a cheater and abused me verbally and emotionally. I bought my first car when I was twenty. Worked my ass off so I could get an old car. He lost it gambling.
