I gave up trying to convince Rae to blow off her stupid hair appointment. It was a Friday but given what was going on nobody expected us to go to work. I had on a dress shirt and some actual dress pants. I looked down at myself and just had to shake my head.
Married, I was getting fucking married.
Had someone said this to me a year ago, I would have laughed my ass off. But Rae is just so … so incredible, so amazing and I definitely don’t deserve her, so shouldn’t I hurry up and do this before she changes her mind?
I couldn’t shake this feeling that if she knew what I really was, if she knew … about my monster, she’d run.
