Alessia had been roaming around the earth for the past three days, walking in different places that seemed familiar but not recognisable. She couldn't even remember anything about what had happened in the past.
Surprisingly, she found herself in a large compound that had several luxurious cars assembled. She looked up to see a very large building and judging from the inscriptions on it, it was obviously a church.
Her legs moved on their own and she found herself, entering the building. There were echoes of music playing in the background and the preachings of the priest dominated the atmosphere.
Walking in, her eyes landed on a man dressed in a suit, he looked in her direction and then their eyes met. She made him mutter a word in greeting but he looked away immediately.
With a shrug she took a step forward and judging from the activities going on there, it was clearly obvious that a wedding was being conducted.
“A wedding?” she batted her lashes, walking fully into the large auditorium. Unlike others who were cladded in ceremonial wear, she was just in a simple blue jumpsuit and a pair of white fluffy slippers – the clothing she was cladded in the day she died.
“Pretty" she chuckled, scanning her eyes around for a place to sit and her eyes caught one in the front row.
“Can I sit here please or someone else has the seat already?” she asked the middle aged woman sitting right beside the empty chair but surprisingly, the woman didn't reply or turn to her, her eyes remained fixed on the priest and groom at the altar.
“Madam?” she called again but still, the lady didn't reply and she rolled her eyes, sitting down immediately.
Soon the bride was called in and out of curiosity to see how the bride looked, she stood up alongside the audience, clapping her hands too .
Almost immediately, Jenna walked in, cladded in a beautiful white ball gown and silver stiletto heels.
“Wow” Alessia smiled broadly, slowly raising her eyes to the bride's face.
Like she was electrocuted, she froze in shock on seeing the bride's face. Even with the veil covering her face, she could clearly see the face; besides, she was seated right beside the space that seemed as the path to the altar.
“That's… that's me” she gasped with widened eyes. Slowly, Jenna got to her side and she stretched her hands forth, intending to touch her but surprisingly she couldn't feel anything.
“Huh?” she voiced in surprise, staring at her pink palms and made to touch her again but still, she couldn't.
“What's going on?” she mumbled with heavy breaths and widened eyes watching as Jenna walked to the altar. She left the spot she was standing, walking towards the altar but before she could get there, something stopped her in her tracks….
Her shock multiplied and her eyes widened more broadly, the bridesmaids were passing through her! Walking freely without demanding to be excused…
“Can someone tell me what's going on!” she screamed, expecting to see all eyes turn to her for disrupting the wedding mood but surprisingly, nothing happened. Everything went on normally and it was one she didn't even make a sound…
She felt her heart skip a beat. First it was the woman who gave her no reply..
Then seeing her lookalike as the bride…
Then not able to touch anyone…
Her unheard scream..
And now, watching people pass through her..
She felt so weak at the thoughts of the strange happenings and with heavy breaths, she stretched her hand to grab the chair, intending to hold it for support but surprisingly, she couldn't feel herself holding anything, instead, she was folding her fists.
“No.. Why am I different?” she cried.
“Alessia Dion, do you agree to wed Bryan Finn as your lawful husband?” The priest's words attracted her attention and she diverted her attention to the altar, witnessing the vow.
“Yes, I do,” she heard the lady say.
“Alessia Dion?” Alessia mumbled under her breath, furrowing her brows.
“Why does that name ring a bell?” she said further, blinking repeatedly.
“Bryan Finn, do you agree to take Alessia Dion as your lawfully wedded wife?” The priest said, turning to Bryan. Alessia stared at the handsome man with a blank expression, he wasn't anything close to being familiar but she felt somehow drawn to him.
“Yes, I really do” The man replied and proceeded to slip a ring into Jenna's hands. Alessia found herself running towards the altar.
“Who are you and why do you have my face?” she raised her voice, referring to Jenna but she wasn't even looking in her direction, her gaze was glued to Bryan all through.
“I'm talking to you!” she screamed again, hoping she was now audible but still, Jenna's gaze remained on Bryan as he slipped the ring into her ring finger.
“I need your response!” Alessia screamed again, this time, a tear dropped from her hands before she could realize. She didn't even know why she released a tear.
“Respond!” she said again but instead of obeying her words, the couples hugged and she stood, watching in surprise.
No one was hearing her!
No one was paying attention to her!
Her screams were useless!
Everything was terribly strange!!!
Without moving away from the altar side, she bent slowly, releasing the tears that were at the entrance of her eyes. The wedding went on normally and in fact, no one told her to leave the stage, meaning she wasn't noticed.
Jenna and Bryan disengaged from the hug and she stood up, staring at Jenna again.
“Can you tell me why you all are ignoring me?” she cried but Jenna wasn't even hearing anything.
“You may now share your first intimacy” The priest's words echoed in Alessia's ears and she blinked, watching as Bryan unveiled Jenna.
Alessia's breathing became more intense, she was right, the bride looked exactly like her!!
“Guess I need a proper confirmation” she breathed and ran to the altar, checking her face out. It was exactly like the bride's.
Infact, every of their features were the same, right from the crown of their head to the sole of their feet!..
She turned back to Jenna intending to say something again but she stopped on seeing Bryan smashing his lips on hers. Sharing intimacy as the priest had permitted.
Alessia still didn't know why she was having a heartache, not like the wedding seemed to be her business but every of the couples actions increased her heartache.
Her tears fell freely and almost immediately, she felt a touch on her left shoulder. Her eyes widened as she stared at nothing in particular, feeling the presence of someone at
her back.
She gasped and her words came out with heavy breaths.…
“Someone finally noticed me?...”
“Do you think I'm a fool? I overheard everything!” Bryan's words came in a yell, causing Alessia to flinch a bit. She batted her lashes, pinching herself to be sure if this was really her fiance – the one she'll be getting married to in three days.He changed completely from being a gentle and loving man to something else.“Bryan, stop it. Besides, how dare you eavesdrop on my mother's conversation with me?” she asked in a tone that wasn't harsh nor blunt. “Don't ask questions, I need an answer,” he said with a serious expression.“Your mother gave you a box containing treasures and she asked you to keep it, where is the box?” He asked and Alessia scoffed. The room had on its ceiling a dim light that casted a faint glow on them and the white walls. Nothing else filled the air but their voices.“I’m sure you eavesdropped on the full conversation and you heard the part when she clearly asked me to keep it a secret! I haven't even checked its content yet, she asked me to do so on ou
“Alessia, I promise, I'll never do anything to hurt you”These words of his were now two-edged swords piercing his heart deeply with scars that never seem to heal up anytime soon. He had just broken his promise in a terrible way..Ending his fiancee's life!.... how could have known that desperation could push him into doing that? The weight of his conscience crushed him like a boulder pressing down on his chest. Her eyes that were once bright were now frozen in a permanent stare. He confirmed her lifelessness for the third time and with shaky hands he shut her eyelids, unable to withstand the fixed gaze on him. Just a while ago, rage had consumed him but now, the flames of anger had dwindled, leaving only smoldering embers of guilt and regret. At that point he knew he had to find a way to hide her corpse before anyone came in. Alessia always had visitors and besides, It was just three days before their wedding, anyone could come in to plan the wedding or deliver the goods they've ord
Words failed Jenna in explaining how she felt. Shocked? Amazed?Scared? It was a mixture of all!!.She blinked repeatedly, batting her lashes just the same way Alessia usually did. “How… What.. I..” she tried speaking but they ended up in a meaningless stutter.Bryan heaved a deep sigh, digging his hand into his wavy brown hair. He moved away from where they stood, walking over to the cellar. Without a second thought, he grabbed a bottle of alcohol and gulped its contents down his throat. Jenna's heart skipped a million beats at once and for a few seconds, it ached, causing a wince to escape her mouth. What are you talking about?” she finally spoke, feeling her heart palpitation increasing as she walked over to where he was.“How much do you want, millions or a billion? Alessia's family are stinkingly rich" he said and Jenna scoffed, getting a clue of his supposed bride's name“I haven't even agreed to that!” she raised her voice, watching him gulp down the alcoholic liquid.
ROYALS SPA..It was a new life for Jenna Hills now, — one of artifice and duplication. She stared at the mirror, seeing her new self. The artists have been working on her for about two hours now, trying to make her imitate Alessia in the picture Bryan had dropped. To evade suspicions, Bryan had driven her to a far away artist shop since Alessia was quite popular in nearby spas and Bryan had to use a face cap and nose mask. Her face still remained the same though but she had to dress like a female, contradicting the tomboy dressing that she was used to. Her hair was well trimmed and her hand was given a star shaped tattoo.“You look good ma'am” The artist complimented and Jenna only rolled her eyes, picking up the picture on the dressing table. She stared at it for the umpteenth time. “Why am I feeling so drawn to you?” she questioned silently, using her thoughts to communicate.“Where’s Bryan?” she suddenly asked, raising her head up. “The man that you came with? THREE DAYS LATER.. It was Alessia's supposed wedding day and Bryan hasn't muttered a word since he woke up. “We'll dispose her body in the river after the molding has been done”Those words of Stephen's uncle haunted Bryan all through the night, he couldn't sleep a wink and as if the heavens weren't on his side, Alessia's image didn't leave his head all through.“How could you be this cruel, intending to have the body of a billionaire's daughter rot in a river?” a part of him didn't stop reminding and stabbing him with its whispers. The guilt, alongside the pain of losing his lover overwhelmed him..
