Disrupted Excitement

And all I could think of is to get into the toilet room as soon as possible when I could feel the violet long curve lines that were scattered throughout my face because of the blood.

I turned the faucet on and drink water as much as my stomach could carry to remove the fishy taste of the blood from my system.

After a few minutes of drinking water, I heaved a sigh of relief when the color of my face returned to its normal pale after a few seconds of getting wet.

"What happened earlier must not happen again," I uttered to myself. "Part of me wanted to kill her." then, I headed out of the toilet room and went back to the exit to sincerely apologize to her or at least offer her a treat.

Unfortunately, she was already nowhere to be found aside from the phone that I just stepped on. Good thing it did not crack or get broken. Her face was displayed on the screen when the light switched on.

"Is everything all right, Gaius?" Monbert asked me again.

Before I could say something to the team, I picked up the phone with the thought of returning it to the rightful owner since it was also considered a humanitarian deed. Returning the phone will be an additional one hour to my lifeline.

"What do we have?" I eagerly ask them right after putting the phone in my butt pocket.

Nonetheless, I have no intention of not telling them about returning the phone because we don't lie to each other. I hate friends who lie to me as well.

They know what I can and cannot do as one of the vampire Guardians. They all need me since I played a crucial part in our team. Besides, we have our separate humanitarian missions to do on our own to expedite the increase of our lifelines.

The daylight ring comes in handy when I can do extra missions during the daytime. Sad for them, not everyone is gifted with a daylight ring. Only a few vampires have one, but they were not included.

"Denver received a new mission earlier. Someone's kid left the house two days ago, didn't come home, and her parents believed that she got abducted," explains Monbert. "While you have a moment with a hot chick earlier, the three of us agreed that we'll start the searching tomorrow evening."

"More or less an accident, not a moment," I uttered back to them. "Anyway, hand me over your wrists." I extended mine as well. "Make sure to get only fifteen minutes from my lifeline. Nothing more. Nothing less."

In order to get their fifteen minutes shares of the lifeline from my wrist, they have to link their barcodes to mine and count fifteen seconds. One second is also equivalent to one minute.

The process may sound completely ridiculous, but we are left with no choice when it is the only way for the divisions of shares to be done. And as the source of the shares, we have to count as well to make sure the receiver cannot cheat.

After the division, the four of us went to our place which is an underground tunnel where our coffins are long hidden. The place serves as our hideout every time the sun goes up. We slept during day time and woke up when the sun goes down.

While lying in my coffin, my brain still felt restless, not because of the exhausting night, but because of the woman I met earlier in the club.

Even if I closed my eyes, his angelic face kept popping into my helpless brain. The weirdest part of thinking about her is that part of me down there got awakened.

And my vampire has no ability to make it out of my mind. The thought is stressing me out unless I could see her again. While the three of them were already at peace, I move out of my casket and started my journey searching for the woman.

In the middle of my journey searching for the reason I felt restless, the phone in my pocket suddenly rings. Then, I checked out the screen of the phone to know who was calling her as early as four in the morning.

At first, I was hesitant to answer the call when the screen displayed a middle-aged man who was registered as "Dad". However, the ringing started to annoy me when the interval between the stopping and ringing is only a matter of seconds.

So, I answered the call.

"For God's sake, Cecelia!" exclaims the person from the other line of the phone.

My ears were already caught up with high and sharp sounds, so I slightly remove the phone from my ears. But I also felt at ease upon knowing her name.

Cecelia. Such a gorgeous name. On the other hand, I hate the meaning of it as it was derived from the Latin word that means "blind".

"Where are you now? Look at the time, it's almost five in the morning and you haven't gotten home yet." he added, "tell me your address. I'll send you a car."

Even opening my mouth, I am still hesitating. His dad talked too much. I don't like loquacious people ever since. I prefer silence over talking to someone else.

"Are you even listening to me, huh? For God's sake Cece. Don't you know it's dangerous outside? Grow up!"

Could not help his endless questions anymore, so I uttered to him, "Hello, good morning, Cecelia's dad. This is Gaius speaking-"

Cecilia's dad cut off my words and asks, "why do you have my daughter's phone? Where is she? If you are not going to tell me, I'll make sure you could not see the next sunrise."

But the sun is about to rise in a few hours. And how dare he threatens me over the phone? Does he have a death wish? I am already feeling exhausted and he was adding fuel to my burning flame.

"Apology, Cecelia's dad, but I found her phone in the middle of the streets. Do you mind telling me your address so I can return her phone?"

That is all part of my evil plan. He simmered my blood. He deserves to get beaten up. It does not matter if I am going to waste a day of my lifeline as long as I could fill my soul with his blood.

Songs of the heavens were buzzing into my ears while holding onto that thought. My body has been used to drinking the blood of animals for years or from the dead bodies of humans.

Truth be told, since the day of the Cursed System, I have been yearning for the taste of fresh blood. But when I tasted Cecelia's blood, everything about my nature has been fully regenerated.

As soon as he told me his address, I immediately turned into tiny bats and landed in front of the humongous mansion in a few minutes. Who could have thought I could meet a spoiled princess in the club, huh?

"Who are you and state your purpose?" asks the security guard the second I stood in front of the main gate of the mansion.

Two middle-aged men with pure human blood are standing in front of me. Interesting! Their soft heartbeats shivered my nerves in a good way. Blood. Blood. The sweet taste of their blood.

"I said who are you and state your purpose?" he added while showing off the gun in his waistline. The other security guard followed, thinking they might scare me and shoo me away.

Sharply staring at them in the eye was the only response I bestowed them before their bodies stiffened like steel. Terror immediately dominated their human system like their bodies were dragged to hell where endless burning flames exist.

And I love watching them stunned and dumbfounded. Hypnosis was my favorite ability that got awakened from the woman's blood.

Seeing her as soon as possible excites me even more. But falling her into my eyes and arms is a much better plan.

"Be lucky old men, I just drink blood before heading out of my coffin. Maybe next time. I'm gonna suck all your blood and leave nothing but a corpse." I softly whispered to them that before I welcome myself into the lobby of the mansion.

Feels like heaven. I could smell Cecelia's aromatic and enticing scents all over the place. This simply means I am in the right place.

Meanwhile, there was no need for me to open my mouth when I ordered the female housekeeper to get Cecelia's dad for me. Impressive. She even bows before me.

While waiting for Cecelia's dad, I was browsing a few pages of the newspaper. And my excitement was interrupted when someone grabbed my body by force and pinned me to the wall.

He choked me and his eyes were glimmering like fire.

"Werewolf," I uttered despite having difficulty breathing. Shit. How come I did not notice his presence behind me? And based on my quick observation, his wolf is not ordinary.

He was fast and strong. I tried to remove his grip from my neck but I couldn't. Those reddish-brown eyes prove that. An alpha of a pack. If he is Cecelia's dad, how come she is a pure human?

"What is a weak vampire like you doing in my house, huh?" he asks me with a deadly glance. "And how exactly did you get in when I don't remember inviting one into the lobby? Let alone sit on the couch."

Indeed. A vampire, no matter how strong they are, cannot get into the house without the owner's invitation. Lucky for me, I got one when I answered his call earlier.

"I think you get into the wrong place, vampire. Now, tell me. Who are you and state your purpose before I could kill you?" he added.

As far as my brain serves me right, vampires are lethal to a werewolf's bite. And they are not under the Cursed System, I believed. That means he is not bluffing about killing me.

"What's going on?" A familiar voice suddenly reverberated through my ears which resulted in his dad letting go of his grip on me.

"Hi, Cecelia!" My face portrayed a half-smile to her while catching up my breath and clearing my throat.

"Words, you, son of a -" he cut off his words when Cecelia's face also portrayed a complete curiosity. "Nothing in particular, honey. This guy was only asking for directions, right, kiddo?"

Nodding to him was the least I could do to make sure the intense situation between us ease off.

But Cecelia curved the tip of her brows while staring at me. "Wait," she uttered. "I think I know you. Right!" then her expression changed. "In the club last night. But what are you doing in our house? How did you know where I live?"

I'm still having a hard time talking when it seems that her dad broke a bone or two in my neck. So, I simply showed them her phone instead.

While holding onto that thought, I could not help myself but burst out my laughter. I mean, who could not be? Dad is telling me something unimaginable. Something that can only be seen on TV or any kind of streaming app. Do you know what makes him even look more ridiculous? Dad, I believe, is not the kind of man who loves watching movies and series of those kinds of stories. He is more particularly a business-minded type of person who loves and praises money, and of course, there is my mom and me. Other than that, nada. "Don't give me that kind of look, Cece." dad insisted. "that is why you have to stay away from him. I could not help but curve the tip of my brows while assisting them out of the lighthouse. She nodded. "I heard the guards calling out their names, Elaine, Shantell, and Rachell..." Then she rubs the tip of her nose while digging into her brain. I remember Archie and Captain Denver once mentioned those names. They were the kids who were kidnapped ten years ago. But what does she mean about them as monsters? "Did you have any idea which chamber they are in?"
