CHAPTER 95: Kicks Of Joy

Pyra’s POV

I was still shaken a bit from the events of the day as I stood in the throne room, the air thick with the lingering echoes of the Wanderer. Madraya stood beside me, her voice a soothing balm against the storm inside.

“Do not stress, Pyra,” she murmured, her hand rubbing gentle circles on my back. “You need rest. Such stress isn’t good for your unborn children. Remember, the gestation period of crimson wolves is far shorter.”

Her words caught me off guard, my brow furrowing in confusion. She must have seen my confusion and furrowed brows as she smiled, explaining further.

“It takes five to seven months for crimson wolves,” she continued, her tone soft. “And you’re already five months along.”

I blinked, processing her revelation. “But I don’t feel like I’m close to giving birth. I’m not even that big.”

Madraya smiled faintly, “Things are strange now, child. The awakening of a crimson wolf is something I can never understand, for it shifts everything.

CHAPTER 96: A New SourceThird person’s POV:Caspian paced the pack’s common room, his restlessness was evident in every taut movement he made. The common area was filled with silence and tension as everyone waited. Warriors sat or stood in small groups, their gazes flickering toward the door every second with anticipation. Four hours. A whole four hours had passed since their Alpha had left without a word to Caspien or anyone, and every minute stretched endlessly.“Where is he?” Caspian muttered, his voice low and simmering with frustration. “It’s been hours, and he hasn’t returned.” His patience was wearing thin, his worry masked by irritation. After he came back from his successful mission, he expected to see his father waiting for him. Beta Alaric, leaning against the wall with arms crossed, turned to him. “Patience, boy,” he said with a calm authority that only deepened Caspien’s scowl. “Our Alpha wouldn’t delay unless it was necessary.”Boy? That single word was like a spark

CHAPTER 97: No Death ScareThird person’s POV:The laboratory was still filled with tension and the smell of chemicals and antiseptic. Alpha Duncan laid rigid on the edge of the examination table, his teeth gritted against the waves of pain that surged through his body. His normally imposing and staring frame was slumped, weakened, his healing slower than expected. The Crimson’s power still eluded him.Alpha Duncan turned to Caspien who watched his father with curious eyes. “There is someone I have kept locked up in the car’s trunk. Get him out.”“Father,” Caspien began, his voice hesitant and brows furrowed from the strange command, “What kind of—“ Duncan cut him off with a guttural growl, his voice commanding and unyielding. “Do as I say, Caspien. Now.”Caspien’s jaw tightened, but he nodded, his defiance swallowed by duty. He turned and left the lab, his boots crunching against the steel ground before exiting to the gravel path outside. The forest surrounded the facility, dense a

CHAPTER 98: End The Bad BloodMaverick's POV:“This is something we should have done a long time ago, Maverick.” Mother’s voice followed after the initial silence. “Collaborating with the FireHeart pack and joining our forces as one should have been our first and top priority; maybe none of this would have happened.”I sighed, instinctively rubbing my palm over my face in frustration. As much as I would hate to deny it, my mother was telling the truth. It was all my fault. If I had not been too stubborn, too headstrong to believe I could handle everything in and out of my pack, then those wolves, or if I could even call them that, would have been stopped. I fear we are too late now. “But there’s bad blood between our opposing pack, Luna.” Derick’s worried voice pierced through as the ministers who sat around the meeting room all nodded in agreement, most whispering amongst themselves. “It’s been far too long. Our pack would speak to them now, since after the Great War, spark their in

CHAPTER 99: Friends Pyra’s POV:It had been two weeks since I’d confessed to Luna Verona that Alpha Maverick was the father of my unborn children. To my surprise—and of course, relief—she had promised to keep the revelation between the two of us, honouring my plea for secrecy. She had probed for more details about how the event went, wanting to know everyone to the point where I was found by the shore, but I had refused to say much, unwilling to relieve the pain of my past. But after some persuasion, I told her most of it. Now, nestled in the luxurious penthouse, while lying on an impossibly soft bed I’d never dreamed of, I found myself struggling with a different kind of burden. The doctors, along with Madraya, had insisted on strict bed rest. “It’s for the health of the babies,” they said. While I appreciated the care, I couldn’t help but feel restless.I glanced at my protruding abdomen, now noticeably larger than it was before. I couldn’t believe just how much I’d grown in just

CHAPTER 100: Intermission Third person’s POV:The heavy diamond double doors of the FireHeart Pack’s throne room creaked open, their ancient carvings glowing faintly under the golden light spilling from above the chandelier and open skylights. Wolves, moons, and runes whispered stories of battles fought and alliances forged that were engraved in the stone walls. For more than a decade, the doors had remained sealed, the throne room shrouded in mystery that only the elderly could remember its former glory. Yet now, for the first time in a long while, the room was alive with the presence of the FireHeart pack members. Hundreds of pack members filled the grand chamber, their voices hushed in awe. Stone pillars loomed overhead, while the arched ceiling glistened. All eyes turned to the Crimson throne at the heart of the room. Nothing could compare to its beauty; it was a masterpiece, its crimson surface shimmering like blood in the sunlight pouring through the high windows.Standing be

CHAPTER 101: The Recording Luna Elodie's POV:The soft glow of the moonlight filtered through the curtains of my chamber, illuminating the thoughts swirling in my mind. I’ve been wracked by the mere thought of everything falling out of place. To this day, nothing has been spoken much about the maid’s disappearance. There has been no report of a trace, a scent, or a trail. Nothing. Maverick has lost all focus on that; he has been too focused on the pack—on protecting them, rebuilding, and mourning the fallen. That left me. I was the only one with enough time and determination to continue the investigation. But the problem now was, where could I possibly start?I crossed my legs, tapping my fingers on the armrest of my chair. The humming tune I let escape my lips did little to spark any inspiration whatsoever. I had one confidant, and that was Minister Blackthorn. He had been my closest ally in these matters, and now… he was gone. Goddess blesses his soul. I rose from my chair, br

CHAPTER 102: Duty CalledPyra’s POVMy small heels clicked against the marbled ground as I walked, and the scent of polished wood and leather greeted me as I stepped into my new office. The room was vast, far larger than I’d expected, its grandeur almost overwhelming. When I entered the room, my gaze lingered on the two portraits hanging on opposite walls—one of my father, proud and stoic, and one of myself, painted with an intensity I wasn’t sure I deserved yet.Inside the office, Beta Thane stood to one side, his sharp and observant eyes never missing a thing. Madraya and Veronica flanked him, their expressions unreadable. My mother, Luna Verona, stood with quiet pride radiating from her while the ministers lined the room like sentinels, their postures stiff and formal.I smoothed my hand over the hem of my tailored suit, a symbol of my new role. It hugged me in all the right places but left room for my rounded abdomen, where my unborn children stirred faintly. Even the heels on my

CHAPTER 103: Never ShieldPyra’s POVI sat behind my desk, slowly rolling the chair from side to side, the weight of my responsibilities pressing down on me, though it was nothing compared to the weight of the life stirring within me. I rested a hand on my rounded belly, feeling another strong kick that made me flinch.“Alright, little ones,” I murmured with a small smile. These little ones are kicking the sense out of me. “I get it, you’re impatient, but just a little while. Let Mommy breathe a little.” They have been restless for days now, kicking hard into my bladder, which made me constantly urinate, but Veronica said it was normal. It was surreal to think how much had changed in almost six months. Six months ago, I was no one—an omega, a runaway washed up on the shore, a rogue with no pack, no family. Now, I was the Queen of Alphas, carrying triplets and ruling over the very wolves who once doubted me. Fate had twisted my path in ways I could never have predicted.I shook my hea

CHAPTER 179: Time To KillMaverick’s POV: The warriors of the FireHeart pack waited with stiff posture, their eyes straight ahead as I passed by them. I rushed into Pyra's penthouse of FireHeart, hoping I wasn’t too late. But when I got to the penthouse, Rhaella wasn’t there. “No, no, no.” I turned away, rushing to the halls of the FireHeart pack, shouting to the nearby pack members. “Where’s the Alpha? Where’s my mate?”The pack member opened her mouth to answer, but no sound came. Her eyes widened—fixed on something behind me. I turned, my heart thudding.Luna Verona stood at the top of the staircase, her long blood-red cloak trailing behind her like a storm cloud. Her expression was unreadable, but her eyes—those fierce dark eyes—held something deeper. One I couldn’t decipher. “Where is she?” I demanded before she could even speak. “Where are the kids?”She descended slowly, deliberately, her heeled boots echoing off the stone floor like a countdown to war. “The kids are fine

CHAPTER 178: DUNCAN ALL ALONGPyra’s POV: It all made sense now. Everything, every piece—like shattered glassware slowly forming a whole again. How didn’t I see this? The lies. The secrecy. The way Steven had always been adamant in knowing everything. The way Steven—no, Caspian—always seemed he was holding back a part of himself like he didn’t belong… because he didn’t. He never did. Not here. Not with us.It all made sense why he was a nervous wreck after I told him he must come with me to the RedClaw pack. “You never know what is around you, Alpha Rhaella. You can sit on your throne, thinking all is safe but oblivious that the enemy can be near.” I recalled one of the strange conversations he had with me. At that moment, it didn’t make sense. I didn’t understand then. But now, I see it all. There was an enemy close by, a wolf wearing sheep’s clothing. And he had always been near. Always been by my side. Always been under my roof and I stupidly trusted this enemy. They had alw

CHAPTER 177: Into An AmbushPyra’s POV: My boots struck the earth. Even the dust couldn’t escape my wrath. Dust kicked up behind me in silent protest, but I didn’t stop. I didn’t flinch. I didn’t even blink. My mind was focused on getting to one place and they shall feel my wrath. The bodysuit I wore molded my frame like a second skin. Sleek and dull red. The material shimmered faintly under the dimming light—thick enough to shield me in combat, yet light enough to move without restriction. It was the mark of the crimson Alphas. An armor they wore in times of battles. One that designates fear, not for any weapon, but the fire in our blood. The bodysuit clung to my form like armor, laced with leather straps and reinforced at the joints for agility and stealth. The style was ancient—Myrrakai, they call it, just like in the legends told of my ancestors centuries ago. No one has worn it for centuries, until me. A silver blade was strapped across my back, its hilt still warm from my gr

CHAPTER 176: A Name To The Gray EyesMaverick’s POV:I walked into my mother’s chamber, still feeling the remnant of her perfume lingering in the air. It was faint now, almost to the point of disappearance. Almost like a fading memory, but unmistakably hers—warm lavender and crushed rose petals. The scent clung to the silk sheet, the walls, the drapes… as if the room itself was infused entirely by her and refused to forget her. My chest tightened. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that she was truly gone. Forever. Yet, everything in here screamed her presence. My heart screamed for her. I stared at everything in the chamber. Her crystal paintbrush she cherished so much, her favorite painting bearing an image of her, me… and my father. Everything now stayed untouched, preserved like relics of a time I’d do anything to return to. I hated this feeling. I stood, watching everything like it was the first time I saw them before finally, I walked deeper into the room and sa

The entire pack was in peril, everyone felt the sorrow of loss. Even the air dared not disturb the thick silence that enveloped the whole place. All around me, faces were etched with pain—eyes red from the constant crying, lips trembling with the weight of the looming silence. Even the strongest among us were brought low by the tragedy that had befallen the pack.My two sons stayed beside me, watching the event unfold. I dared not allow them a few feet away from me after what happened to Zerek. Never. Everything was happening too fast. Too fast for me to control. It was like everywhere I turned, danger, pain, and loss filled there already. CHAPTER 174: Betrayed PainSteven’s POV:I stirred, yawning loudly as I woke from my slumber. I opened my eyes, and the small light of the morning filtered into my eyes from the window.I blinked against the sting, groaning softly as I stirred from sleep. It was still too early in the morning but I was awake, energized. My body felt heavy, like it wanted more sleep—even though I knew I overslept. I turned on my side, dragging a hand over my face to wipe off the remnants of the strange unease clinging to me. Something felt… off.I didn’t know how to explain it as I stared at the ceiling but I felt that today wasn’t just going to be a normal day. I sat up slowly, rubbing my temples. The scent of the morning breeze drifted in, mixed with the faint perfume of pine from the woods beyond. My throat itched with thirst and I reached for the bottle of water beside my bed only to feel something crisp. I frowned, turning to see a letter sitting right there. What the hell?I turned on the ligh

CHAPTER 173: An Empty CradlePyra’s POV:Cold. That was all I could feel. It slipped into my bones, tearing at me from the inside. I couldn’t move, barely able to breathe except for the cold moisture that was so dense that it felt like I was breathing in water. I took another painful breath in, choking on it immediately. My choking seemed to snap me out of whatever I was in because one moment I could feel my eyes closed permanently shut, and air as thick and dense as liquid entering my lungs, and the next moment, I stood before a forest. The trees towered over all, animals ran into their hiding spots as if running from something dangerous. The branches of the towering trees crept like hands, promising a destructive hug but even with that, nothing could hide what hung prominently in the sky, casting red lights that bathed the ground. The moon. It was bleeding a bright crimson red. I veered around, searching all around me. As strange as this place was, it was familiar. I didn’t kno

CHAPTER 172: Revenge Served With A Syringe Third person’s POV:The darkness was persistent, not a ray of moonlight sipped through. The lands of Lunaria were bathed in total darkness. Not even the stars dared to blink. The once lively whispers of the wind had grown still, and even the wolves, proud guardians of the night, were silent—watching, waiting. And the lands of the FireHeart pack were not immune to this. Deep in the darkness, a pair of dark eyes blinked, making his way straight into the path where a lady waited patiently for him. He stopped before her, their eyes locked into each other, no words being spoken. After what felt like forever, Alpha Rhaella shifted, giving access to Alpha Maverick into her penthouse. Immediately he was in, she shut the door. “I’ve been waiting for this,” Maverick said, impatiently going to hold Rhaella’s hand, his body almost gluing to hers.
