CHAPTER 43 : Alpha Duncan RedClaw

Third person’s pov

The clearing was eerily quiet; the silence shrouded everything within its grasp, even to the point of suffocation. Even the winds dared not whisper as it blew the leaves gently. This clearing, surrounded by towering trees, opened up like a hidden sanctuary within the dense embrace of the forest.

The gnarled branches of these trees suddenly arched overhead, filtering the dying light of the day into soft, light, dappled patterns on the ground. The air was thick with scents of sweating bodies as that silence that once enveloped the clearing lasted only for a few thousandths of a second before a deafening roar erupted, tearing through the atmosphere as the sun settled its ambient glow on the assembled warriors, a deep undercurrent of ferocity palpable.

The warriors were a sight to behold: bearded men, their hair and beards streaked red, standing shoulder to shoulder, looking more like a wild assembly of ancient Vikings.

But under all

CHAPTER 44: The Tee’s Buds Pyra’s pov As I stood up from the cold toilet seat, I felt an odd mixture of relief wash over me. A smile finally graced my lips. The crimson stain in the bowl confirmed that my monthly visitor had finally arrived, although fashionably late, I might say. Just like Veronica had said, the ‘glow’ she had noticed wasn’t what I thought it was or rather emphasized about. With my period finally here, I felt a strange sense of normalcy returning back to my chaotic life. I was okay. I assured myself, flushing the toilet. I took a moment of time to myself and reached into my bag for the sanitary pad I had kept inside. After a brief struggle, I finally managed to fit it comfortably, and when I was done, I washed my hands while glancing at my reflection in the mirror. I looked… better than ever. My cheeks were now filled, and my hair glistened brightly under the fluorescent lights. I reached a hand to my face while turning my face side to side to view clearly. For

CHAPTER 45: The Heart Circus Pyra's pov I stepped inside with Veronica ahead of me, and the delicate chime of the door echoed behind us. My eyes drifted to the name above the entrance in elegant script: The Tee’s Buds. I couldn’t help the smile that danced on my lips. As we walked deeper into the restaurant, with the people all speaking to each other, I couldn’t help but admire the beauty of this place. The walls were painted in soft pastel shades, making me feel like I had entered another era. Another future. My gaze shifted upwards, and just there sat an ornate crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling, casting a warm, golden light over everything, making the room glow with an inviting warmth, even making the gallant individual's outfit shine. “Here!” Veronica led me to an empty table, and I sat admiring the place. Even the tables were set with immaculate white cloths and gleaming silverware, each plate setting arranged carefully. A small bouquet of fresh flowers in pastel h

CHAPTER 46: Find Me Pyra!Maverick's povThe meeting finally ended late in the evening, with the council members and advisors leaving the hall silently. I sat back in my chair, a soft sigh escaping my patted lips as I felt the weight of the paper in my hand. I continued to watch it, unable to tear my eyes away—the photo was blurred and strange, totally unclear, but one detail stood out clearly: A mop of red hair."Blackthorn," I called, bringing the minister of secret affairs's attention. I heard his footsteps approaching, his presence discreet as ever, always lingering outside my view but still present when I needed him. I could feel his eyes on me the entire time, but I was too focused on the images before me to care.I then felt him beside me. His eyes were on the stack of papers on the table, eager to collect them and retreat to whatever shadow he worked best in. I grunted, handing him the images individually, but I held on to the last one—the photograph. He reached out for it,

CHAPTER 47: Web Of EyesNatalie’s povI slowly approached the building, letting my feet drag across the dried, cracked ground filled with fallen leaves, half-wishing Cornor would be a no-show this time. “What the hell does he want now?” I raged, looking around. It was still dusk, and shadows crawled over the large building, making it feel even more isolated and lonely than it usually is. This was the abandoned training center, which had once buzzed with the sounds of sparring, teaching young cubs and pack members to hunt and survive. But now, it was just a reflection of its former glory, a relic of past lessons, but above all, it seemed fitting that it was the place Cornor insisted on meeting. I already gave him everything he asked for. He has status, power, riches, and respect. I could barely say the last word without sneering. Cornor was a leach, always taking but never satisfied. I’d tolerated much of his nonsense until now, hoping his demands would cease as he settled into his

CHAPTER 48: Madame Lou’s Divination Pyra’s povThe car parked beside the road, the engine turning off. The circus lights flashed in brilliant colors as Veronica and I stepped out of her car. This place was marvelous—a sight to behold. I could barely believe that Fireheart Pack was this advance in both technology and culture—everything was almost futuristic, with stands buzzing with people, laughter echoing through the air, and all kinds of tech-driven attractions that seemed like something out of a dream.A perfect dream. A red rose covered my vision, stopping my wonder, and I turned to see a man’s hand outstretched, giving me the flowers. I blinked, momentarily caught off guard. “For you,” he said with a grin on his slightly wrinkled face. “A beautiful flower for a beautiful girl with beautiful red hair.”Immediately he said that, I felt my face heat up, and I took the flowers, using the red petals to hide the side of my burning face. “Thank you, sir.”I glanced back to see Veroni

CHAPTER 49: Mistress Madraya Pyra’s povI woke up to a dense and heavy smoke engulfing my vision. I groaned, my head throbbing like they were about to explode, and as I reached up to touch it, my hands felt heavy, almost like lead.I shook my head, blinking while trying to clear the haze in my vision, but everything was still blurred. I tried to make out my surroundings despite the haze. I took a deep breath, and the familiar incense filled the air.I could make out the dim light from the candles as they flickered, casting eerie shadows that danced along the curtains. I shifted, letting out a small groan as I tried to push myself upright. “Oh, my goodness. Pyra? Are you okay?” Veronica’s soothing voice cut through the haze, filled with so much relief that it pulled me back into the moment. “Are you awake?” I blinked, trying to rub off the haze until my vision finally cleared enough to see her face hovering over me, scrunched up in concern. Her eyes scanned my entire body until they

Chapter 50: Confrontation Maverick’s POV:It’s been three days since I sent Minister Blackthorn to search. And for three days, there was silence, no words from him. I sat in my office, trying to focus on the letter I was writing to Luna Verona Fireheart of the Fireheart pack. The rumors of what had happened during their peace treaty spread like wildfire, and it was only fitting to send my condolences and wish the injured a fast recovery. Finishing the letter, I reached out where it was usually kept for my seal to stamp it shut, but my hands met an empty space I grunted, frustrated, as I bent towards the corner and opened one of the lower drawers to search for the seal. “There!” I muttered, but my fingers brushed on something as I reached for it. I bent lower, and my gaze locked on the stack of pictures beside it, the one minister Blackthorn had handed me some time ago. Curious, I pulled them out along with the seal. “Lyla,” I called out to my secretary as I stamped the letter, n

CHAPTER 51: Trust And An Affair Pyra’s PovIt was already late evening, and the night dazzled from the bright streetlight, the moon hung so dim in the dark sky. I rested against the window, watching the moving vehicles as they sped by. The unsettling silence between Veronica and me was palpable, feeling increasingly louder than the engine's hum. Since we began driving, I could feel her eyes biting into me, burning a hole in my side as she occasionally turned to stare at me. I didn’t bother to ascertain her attention, keeping my face turned away, pretending to be lost in the darkness beyond the window. “Pyra,” Veronica called, her soft voice tearing the unsettling silence. “Hmmm?” I hummed a noncommittal response, not in the mood to discuss and hoping the conversation she wanted to strike would end before it even began. “Is there anything you want to tell me?” She said her voice barely above a whisper. “No,” I replied, keeping my gaze steady on the moving ground outside. “You k

CHAPTER 174: Betrayed PainSteven’s POV:I stirred, yawning loudly as I woke from my slumber. I opened my eyes, and the small light of the morning filtered into my eyes from the window.I blinked against the sting, groaning softly as I stirred from sleep. It was still too early in the morning but I was awake, energized. My body felt heavy, like it wanted more sleep—even though I knew I overslept. I turned on my side, dragging a hand over my face to wipe off the remnants of the strange unease clinging to me. Something felt… off.I didn’t know how to explain it as I stared at the ceiling but I felt that today wasn’t just going to be a normal day. I sat up slowly, rubbing my temples. The scent of the morning breeze drifted in, mixed with the faint perfume of pine from the woods beyond. My throat itched with thirst and I reached for the bottle of water beside my bed only to feel something crisp. I frowned, turning to see a letter sitting right there. What the hell?I turned on the ligh

CHAPTER 173: An Empty CradlePyra’s POV:Cold. That was all I could feel. It slipped into my bones, tearing at me from the inside. I couldn’t move, barely able to breathe except for the cold moisture that was so dense that it felt like I was breathing in water. I took another painful breath in, choking on it immediately. My choking seemed to snap me out of whatever I was in because one moment I could feel my eyes closed permanently shut, and air as thick and dense as liquid entering my lungs, and the next moment, I stood before a forest. The trees towered over all, animals ran into their hiding spots as if running from something dangerous. The branches of the towering trees crept like hands, promising a destructive hug but even with that, nothing could hide what hung prominently in the sky, casting red lights that bathed the ground. The moon. It was bleeding a bright crimson red. I veered around, searching all around me. As strange as this place was, it was familiar. I didn’t kno

CHAPTER 172: Revenge Served With A Syringe Third person’s POV:The darkness was persistent, not a ray of moonlight sipped through. The lands of Lunaria were bathed in total darkness. Not even the stars dared to blink. The once lively whispers of the wind had grown still, and even the wolves, proud guardians of the night, were silent—watching, waiting. And the lands of the FireHeart pack were not immune to this. Deep in the darkness, a pair of dark eyes blinked, making his way straight into the path where a lady waited patiently for him. He stopped before her, their eyes locked into each other, no words being spoken. After what felt like forever, Alpha Rhaella shifted, giving access to Alpha Maverick into her penthouse. Immediately he was in, she shut the door. “I’ve been waiting for this,” Maverick said, impatiently going to hold Rhaella’s hand, his body almost gluing to hers. In their celebratory halls, Soft Music drifted through the air, a cheerful tune that tried—desperately—to fill the silence that hung over the pack like a thick fog.A performance for the Alpha and his newly appointed Ministers who sat watching from their raised platform. CHAPTER 170: Beneath The Sheep Clothing Pyra’s POV: I watched as Steven approached me, his gray eyes glinting with a light I hadn’t seen for quite some time now. What has made him this happy? I couldn’t tear my eyes away from him. It was like he had just taken a bath, his hair a slightly rough mat, pulled back roughly as if he didn’t have time to properly comb it but for some weird reason, it made him look more incredibly handsome. I didn’t notice he was holding something until he was close to me before my gaze shifted towards his hands. There was a bouquet of flowers in one hand and in the other, what looked to be a gift box was present. I was silent as he stopped before me, my gaze still fixed on the gift box. What could be inside? Steven knew how much I didn’t like receiving gifts but if he was to bring one to me now, it meant it was something very important. Could it be what I think it is?I heard a small cough behind me and that was when I was brought back to reality. I tu

CHAPTER 169: Boxed FlowersMaverick’s POVThe morning air was crisp, carrying the lingering scent of pine and damp earth as I made my way toward the penthouse. The sun had barely broken past the horizon, casting long shadows over the quiet roads. It was rare for me to be up this early in the morning, but yesterday was restless, leaving me with no other choice. We were meant to eat breakfast with Alpha Rhaella, and the prominent figures of the pack but for a while now, Alpha Rhaella has stopped that act. Instead, everyone eats their meals in their own private space. Sure, I do understand her for the last few meetings we had in the dining room and it turned out to be disastrous. As I continued walking down the narrow road, I felt vibrations in my pants and fished out my phone, answering the call without looking at the caller ID. I knew who it was before her voice could pierce through. “Mother!”Why would she have called this early? Was there a problem or did she find out what I wanted

  • GAME OF ALPHAS    168. Green Intruder

CHAPTER 168: Green Intruder Third person’s POV:The river roared through the heart of FireHeart Pack’s land, its currents swift and relentless, reflecting the fiery hues of the setting sun. This was the exact place where the infamous Alpha Rhaella, the Queen of Alphas was found half-dead. This place was the beginning and the birth of a legend. Beyond the river, the pack’s territory was vast, a stretch of dense pine forests and towering cliffs that cladded a well tiled road but yet, the sweet scent of damp earth and wild musk filled the air. This late in the evening, the riverbank was not a place of peace and serenity. No, it was far from that. It was alive with the sound of footsteps wading through the waist-deep water, their breath heavy, and eyes scanning the depths for a single object—the lost necklace of Alpha Rhaella. Steven StoneClaw stood in the waist-deep water, his powerful frame tense as he watched the flowing water with keen, vigilant eyes. The necklace was no ordinary

CHAPTER 167 : A Call Hindrance Luna Elodie’s POV:After Minister Scott, made sure he continued his investigations. I didn’t tell him much knowing if there was anyone who could tackle this problem, it would have to be me. I dug into my pocket, fishing my phone and instinctively dialing a single number. I watched the phone ring, the screen brightness doing nothing to deter my resolve. I waited for the call to be answered, standing from my seat due to restlessness. Now that I think about it, why would Maverick ask me to find out about someone? I’ve asked this question more times than I could count since given this mission, yet no answer played forth before me. Does he mean he doesn’t trust that person, or the person was a great danger?Steven StoneClaw! The name is foreign yet carries a weight of foreboding along with it. The call ended yet no one picked up the call. I paced around, watching the pack through the large window for several minutes, enjoying the peace that reigned today.

CHAPTER 166 : To Be Real Luna Elodie’s POV: Following the instruction given to me by my son, I called in Minister Scott for a deeper investigation than I could provide. As I waited for his arrival, I took a few minutes to check the news. One would be surprised just how much information could be acquired from what others deem useless or not crucial. I, on the other hand, get all the information from whatever source was provided to me. The minutes passed quickly as I scrolled through the news, my mind processing each tidbit of information. The headlines were filled with the usual chaos: political unrest, corporate scandals, and the ever-present shadow of global tensions. But I wasn’t looking for any of that. I needed something different, something that was of great importance. Lunaria has always been filled with political wars for decades. I need not hear of them now. What I needed was something specific, something subtle that would give me an edge, something others might o
