CHAPTER 47: Web Of Eyes

Natalie’s pov

I slowly approached the building, letting my feet drag across the dried, cracked ground filled with fallen leaves, half-wishing Cornor would be a no-show this time.

“What the hell does he want now?” I raged, looking around. It was still dusk, and shadows crawled over the large building, making it feel even more isolated and lonely than it usually is.

This was the abandoned training center, which had once buzzed with the sounds of sparring, teaching young cubs and pack members to hunt and survive. But now, it was just a reflection of its former glory, a relic of past lessons, but above all, it seemed fitting that it was the place Cornor insisted on meeting.

I already gave him everything he asked for. He has status, power, riches, and respect. I could barely say the last word without sneering.

Cornor was a leach, always taking but never satisfied. I’d tolerated much of his nonsense until now, hoping his demands would cease as he settled into his

CHAPTER 48: Madame Lou’s Divination Pyra’s povThe car parked beside the road, the engine turning off. The circus lights flashed in brilliant colors as Veronica and I stepped out of her car. This place was marvelous—a sight to behold. I could barely believe that Fireheart Pack was this advance in both technology and culture—everything was almost futuristic, with stands buzzing with people, laughter echoing through the air, and all kinds of tech-driven attractions that seemed like something out of a dream.A perfect dream. A red rose covered my vision, stopping my wonder, and I turned to see a man’s hand outstretched, giving me the flowers. I blinked, momentarily caught off guard. “For you,” he said with a grin on his slightly wrinkled face. “A beautiful flower for a beautiful girl with beautiful red hair.”Immediately he said that, I felt my face heat up, and I took the flowers, using the red petals to hide the side of my burning face. “Thank you, sir.”I glanced back to see Veroni

I groaned, my head throbbing like they were about to explode, and as I reached up to touch it, my hands felt heavy, almost like lead.I shook my head, blinking while trying to clear the haze in my vision, but everything was still blurred. I tried to make out my surroundings despite the haze. I took a deep breath, and the familiar incense filled the air.I could make out the dim light from the candles as they flickered, casting eerie shadows that danced along the curtains. I shifted, letting out a small groan as I tried to push myself upright. “Oh, my goodness. Pyra? Are you okay?” Veronica’s soothing voice cut through the haze, filled with so much relief that it pulled me back into the moment. “Are you awake?” I blinked, trying to rub off the haze until my vision finally cleared enough to see her face hovering over me, scrunched up in concern. Her eyes scanned my entire body until they

Chapter 50: Confrontation Maverick’s POV:It’s been three days since I sent Minister Blackthorn to search. And for three days, there was silence, no words from him. I sat in my office, trying to focus on the letter I was writing to Luna Verona Fireheart of the Fireheart pack. The rumors of what had happened during their peace treaty spread like wildfire, and it was only fitting to send my condolences and wish the injured a fast recovery. Finishing the letter, I reached out where it was usually kept for my seal to stamp it shut, but my hands met an empty space I grunted, frustrated, as I bent towards the corner and opened one of the lower drawers to search for the seal. “There!” I muttered, but my fingers brushed on something as I reached for it. I bent lower, and my gaze locked on the stack of pictures beside it, the one minister Blackthorn had handed me some time ago. Curious, I pulled them out along with the seal. “Lyla,” I called out to my secretary as I stamped the letter, n

CHAPTER 51: Trust And An Affair Pyra’s PovIt was already late evening, and the night dazzled from the bright streetlight, the moon hung so dim in the dark sky. I rested against the window, watching the moving vehicles as they sped by. The unsettling silence between Veronica and me was palpable, feeling increasingly louder than the engine's hum. Since we began driving, I could feel her eyes biting into me, burning a hole in my side as she occasionally turned to stare at me. I didn’t bother to ascertain her attention, keeping my face turned away, pretending to be lost in the darkness beyond the window. “Pyra,” Veronica called, her soft voice tearing the unsettling silence. “Hmmm?” I hummed a noncommittal response, not in the mood to discuss and hoping the conversation she wanted to strike would end before it even began. “Is there anything you want to tell me?” She said her voice barely above a whisper. “No,” I replied, keeping my gaze steady on the moving ground outside. “You k

I trust him. He’s my Beta and my right-hand man. Isn’t that reason enough?”She didn’t respond immediately, her expression thoughtful as she continued to sit there. She looked kind of wary of something. I remembered how Derick had reassured me that rejecting Pyra was the best decision to make, that it would give me time to find a stronger and more capable Luna. To find my “true mate.” As he said. Mother turned to the door as though someone might overhear what she was about to say. She leaned into the desk, her voice low. “Listen to me, Son,” she said quietly, her voice dropping to a near-whisper. “This conversation stays between us, okay? No one—not even your Beta—should know of it. I’ve been noticing thin

CHAPTER 53: The WandererLuna Verona’s povMy hands shuffled through the endless paperwork on my desk, trying to get a grasp of what I was reading, but I couldn’t focus. My mind was tangled deep with thoughts of what Sir Wilson had revealed after he came back to the pack. Just who are these people—these red-haired beings? I thought to myself. “It couldn’t be possible. They couldn’t be… crimson wolves, could they?”No! This must all be a misunderstanding. Sir Wilson must simply be too scared to register what he saw, but I knew Wilson. He was a man of his word. He would never be mistaken, that’s why I trusted him. It must be true. The crimson werewolves. It couldn’t be. I closed my eyes, trying to think clearly. The crimsons have been extinct for as long as I can remember, except for my mate, the last of his kind. They had always been rare, the rarest of wolf-kind, born only in small numbers every century, each of them possessing immense power and mystery. Yet here I was, confronte

I shifted uncomfortably, trying not to meet her gaze as I glanced in the rearview mirror at the annoyed drivers pulling up. “Ummm, Veronica? Can you… umm… move?” I murmured, my voice barely above a whisper, a part of me hoping she wouldn’t even hear me. “What did you just say?”I swallowed hard, barely able to breathe, feeling my pulse in my throat. He didn’t turn; I needed him not to. I clicked my teeth, thinking deeply. “Summon the Ministers,” I commanded, my voice steady. “And…”“Find me the Seer, Madraya.”His body was stationary as he turned back slowly; one of his eyebrows raised in questioning. “The seer, Luna? Are you sure?”I didn’t answer him, so he continued. “For decades, her reputation has been in ruins. People are no longer certain of her so-called …gifts.”I gritted my teeth in annoyance with his questions, but I understood where he came from and his hesitation. “I know that. CHAPTER 142: Rose Bouquet Pyra’s POV:That night, after the event with Steven, I slept late. My mind churned with everything that had happened—the race, the moment his grey eyes locked with mine, and the subtle seduction. It was too much to handle, and for the longest time, I lay on my bed, replaying the memories over and over again. Maybe this was why sleep didn’t come easily, and when it did, my ears picked up the sound of a foreign voice. My ear tingled as I listened for the sound, hearing it coinciding with that of my babies. They were four months old now and wouldn’t know the difference between safe and dangerous. I sat up immediately, my heart hammering in my chest. The sound was faint but unmistakable. It was a voice—a low whisper that seemed to blend with the soft babbling of my babies in the adjoining nursery. My maternal instincts kicked in as I swung my legs over the side of the bed and stood.Padding silently across the room to the nursery, I pushed open the door. The

I could feel his intense stare bearing down on me. I took a step back, but he simultaneously stepped forward. “I want to know the ins and outs of the great Alpha Rhaella. The very first Alpha Queen and female ruler of all Alphas and Lunaria as a whole.”The way he said it, it was like a dream. I couldn’t believe it myself; never in a million years would I have imagined I would be at such a level of peak as I was currently. “You’re exaggerating things. It’s not that big of a deal.” I said, still trying to step back, but his vest enveloped me. “It is a bit of a deal. The greatest deal ever in history. You’re a legend, Alpha.”I nodded, now looking down at my feet as they berated me. A sad smile spread across my lips

The sweat generated through the hours of workouts dropped from my body, soaking my clothes as they clung to my body like a second skin. My breath was still heavy, my muscles pumping with the remnant of the surge of adrenaline. Not feeling satisfied, I moved over and carried the heaviest weight, 200 pounds on a barbell, hoping to not only challenge myself but disrupt the thought of him ringing through my mind. But it wasn’t enough. The weight didn’t burn away the fire in my chest, the turmoil in my mind. With a frustrated growl, I hoisted the barbell high above my head, my muscles screaming in protest. But it wasn’t the pain I was after. It was the relief. And yet again, the weight failed to give me the relief I desperately sought, and I hurled it across the room in anger. It crashed onto the flo

They only care for what could fill their pockets.” Steven whispered in disgust, knowing the hearts of ministers for his father’s pack had one similar to these.“Why do they even need pack ministers huh? To waste pack funds?” He now understood why his father dismissed almost all his ministers before he started his course for domination. And Steven fully agrees with his father. Packs don’t need Ministers who just sit around and get paid highly for doing absolutely nothing. With a heave, Steven shook his head and left the balcony, already bored as those he was spying on had all go

I watched his towering frame as the room seemed to hold its breath, the tension crackling like lightning between us. How dare he? An Alpha, yes, but not my Alpha. Not the one to command me. I am the one true Alpha, and he dared disobey me?“Excuse me?” I asked, my tone sharper than I intended.“You heard me,” he replied, his voice low but carrying the weight of something I couldn’t decipher. “And I won’t repeat myself. Even if not for your sake or ours, but for your mother, Luna Elodie. I know her throughout my years in the pack and she would kill us with her claws if we ever left you here.”I growled, suppressing my anger and frustration. CHAPTER 136: Avenge MeThird person’s POV: The land remained heavy with silence, as though the earth itself held its breath in such a situation. Not a single leaf stirred, and even the wind seemed to shy away from the hallowed ground of the Fangborn pack. In the heart of the Fangborn Pack’s vast territory was an open clearing, a place steeped in reverence and history. This was no ordinary ground. It was the ground for the cremation of fallen heroes who risked their lives for the betterment of the pack as a whole. A place where the goddess shall open her arms and accept her children into her kingdom. This was the purest of places in the pack, where the vile between the living and the dead stands thinnest. But tonight, the sanctity of this place felt tainted. In the middle of this clearing stood a stone podium surrounded by grasses and hay, and tied to its smooth surface was none other than Beta Derick; a man now considered as Derick Cresentblood for his titles had already been strip
