Elle’s POV
It took several hours before she could finish resolving the conflict between the Alphas, and as intense as it got, she really enjoyed the debate. It reminded her of her friends in high school and how they would come to her to settle fights. Though, she hoped that was the extent of settling alpha disputes for a while.
It wasn’t long before the new shirt and tea arrived. Doctor Cayden came. But Octavio refused to be evaluated despite the efforts made to arrange care.
They ate dinner and drank wine as they vehemently discussed each person’s perspective. Elle did not appreciate the wine brought into it. But the debate slowly went from a passionate argument to an ardent discussion.
If he kills Elle on accident, will his torment ever end?
FridayCorvins POVElle thoughtlessly disturbed his blessed silence and insisted that she stay. He didn’t know how he would restore his beautifully restrictive defenses. Then she witnessed his fall, unbidden and unwanted. She saw him at his worst and still refused to leave. He tried to force her to leave, but she wouldn’t. He didn’t want to give in to her presence, that tiny little nagging feeling. Everything was going to be alright. Elle was here. She had kept him going in the darkest of times, and now she wanted to be with him.If she were to reject him now, it would finish off his crushed soul. He desperately did not want to give her that chance. But Remus insisted that Corvin not chase her off.
Dear Reader, Thank you for joining me on Elle's adventure through what is to her a whole new world. I really hope you enjoy it! But as you go through, I would love to hear your thoughts and feelings. Comment or reach out to me on F*. Also, this is my last edit on this version. It will be marked completed by the end of the week. Much Love and Light, Byerly B. CORVINS POV Corvin was a vigorous 15-year-old lycan boy with bright grey eyes and his pack’s distinctive silver hair. He was the alpha’s son, thoroughly trained to prepare for the day he would take his father’s esteemed place. But he didn’t plan on doing that for many years. He was a good child who usually behaved well for his parents and foun
20 years later Elle’s POV Elle woke up before her alarm, immediately alert. She was a typical teenager who hated getting up early. But it was her 18th birthday, and she was excited about her plans for the weekend. She just had to make it through one more day of school. She sat at her bedroom mirror and brushed her straight blonde hair. It had grown so long. It took a while to take care of her hair, but she was dedicated to caring for it before bed and in the morning. After brushing her hair, she moved away from the mirror to examine her crop top and skinny jeans. She was a mere 5’ and barely weighed 120 lbs. She checked her push-up bra, silently wishing they were bigger. Then Jimmy would definitely notice her. Oh well,
Elle’s POV The first stage of the birthday celebration plans was the party at Jimmy’s house. Tara and Elle arrived what Tara called ‘fashionably late.’ Everyone was already there, but they were not yet impatiently waiting for her. His parent’s house, decorated with balloons and streamers, had a table full of different snacks against one wall. There was a bowl of punch and an icebox. She and Tara headed for the icebox first. They each grabbed a wine cooler; everyone expected alcohol. But as she lifted the bottle from the cooler, a flashback of last week caused her to gasp. She had not planned on driving home, as she and Tara partied at Billy’s house. Tara was the night’s designated driver, so she wasn’t paying attention to the amoun
Elle’s POV They were sitting silently in the car for 10 minutes. Elle snuck occasional glances in his direction, careful to avoid eye contact. His rugged features were exceptionally threatening. The sharp lines and furrowed eyebrows expressed dark emotions and thoughts of misery. His grey eyes were steely and cold. The rough stubble on his jaw somehow made him look less human, more primal. He was the predator. What did that make her? In sharp contrast, his long silver, neatly combed, emphasized the beastly appearance of his face. Silver hair was often an indication of age, like greys. But there were no wrinkles on his aggressive face. Was he just
Elle's POV Elle looked at the elderly man and friendly lady that had safely harbored her up until now. “I want to talk to the police first.” She called. Arya groaned, threw her hands in the air, and walked back to the sidewalk. Elle glanced between the pitiful officers. “What are you going to do about the kidnapping?” She asked hesitantly. Why had they been so chummy with him? They smiled the smiles they reserved for families who have lost a loved one. “Listen, miss. There truly isn’t anything we can do.” She grabbed onto the door to keep herself from falling as she felt the ground rip open beneath her feet. There was nothing the police could do about her being taken against
Elle’s POV “Mom!” Elle exclaimed frantically as her arms wrapped around her mother’s slim waist. She returned the hug tightly, not letting go until Elle loosened her grip. Elle sensed a tremendous amount of anxiety coming from her mother. This was going to be a different kind of talk. “Darling…” Elle worriedly looked at her mother. Evidence of her mother crying was all over her face. Her sadness tugged on Elle’s heart. Dried tears streaked her mother’s red blotchy skin. “I am so sorry. I should have told you sooner. Let’s sit somewhere and talk. We do not have a lot of time.” She was calm on the outside. But tumultuous emotions were brewing heavily inside her. Elle led her mother to
Elle’s POV When Elle and her mother went inside, they were holding hands. It gave Elle some extra courage as she explained to Arya that she was ready to proceed. Arya was ecstatic to hear it. Jumping up and down, she clapped her hands enthusiastically. Arya then led both women across the street to the church. She spoke the entire way about how lovely the wedding would be and what all their plans were. But Elle was only listening on the surface. Her mind and emotions were on a fast-paced tilt-a-whirl. She had to focus entirely on controlling herself. Or she might grab her mom and run out. Arya led them down a short hallway with two doors on each side. Except for the light that escaped from two open doors, it was dark in the ha

FridayElle’s POVAfter finding out that Fiel and Octavio were fighting, Elle groaned and indicated he should lead the way. She followed him to the dining hall, where Fiel and Octavio were in each other’s faces with their snarling betas behind them. They both barred their teeth in aggressive growls.“It is evident that it was necessary,” Octavio spoke in low menacing tones as he pressed aggressively towards Fiel.Fiel wasn’t about to back down.“It appears that you are the one who truly needs to be placed in the shackles you speak of.”His accent was especially pronounced ri
FridayElle’s POV The arrival of Aza SkerpTand was the next day, and Arya dressed Elle in a brightly colored wrap with abstractly embroidered edges. She also wore colorful beaded bracelets and necklaces. Arya explained that it was the traditional clothing of their people and would be seen as a sign of respect.Elle knew Luna Skerptand was a formidable member of the council. Axel and Arya had only glazed over her despite Aza being the only female. So Elle was surprised to see her traveling without an alpha.Instead, she had two beautiful women at her side. All four of them were tall and sleek. Their features were perfectly carved stone
ThursdayElle’s POVKnocking on Corvin’s door, she called out to him. “Corvin! Remus! I need to have a word with you guys. Can I please come in?”There was no response. She pushed the door gently, and it opened into a pitch-black room. Before Corvin woke up, Remus kept a light on, at least. She took a quick tentative step into the darkness, deeply aware that she wouldn’t see a monster until it clutched her in its maniacal grip. She tried to ignore the dark whisperings of her mind about what could be in there, hidden within the menacing shadows. The door behind her opened.Elle swung around with her pulse pounding in her chest. Corvin stood at
ThursdayElle’s POV Before going into Alpha PataDiamante’s room, Elle saw Corvin haunting the halls and looking like a long-dead apparition, shadows fed by lack of color. His dark eyes peered out from the blackness of shadows, emphasized by the paleness of his skin—a stalking monster lurking in his gloom. When she left the playful festivities in Alpha PataDiamante’s room, she expected to see Corvin, but he was gone. Briefly, she considered going up to their apartment. But quickly decided against it because she was still angry with him. Besides, she had a ton of other things to do.Her first stop would be the kitchen. With
ThursdayElle’s POVWhen Arya came back to get Elle ready, she explained that Corvin was ‘not feeling well.’ Apparently, it was why he said and acted so callously. But Elle already knew that he wasn’t well. Her confirmation only made Elle feel more gloomy. Should she have been kinder, more understanding? As Arya did her make-up, she spoke about how Corvin was not ready to face the council. Elle secretly knew that. But it filled her with an unhappy apprehension to know she was still without him in this matter. When Elle met Fiel at the airport, he flirted heavily with a petite blonde as his men gathered all the bags. She waited for him to finish talking to her. Then Elle sauntered over, cheerfully greeting hi
ThursdayCorvin’s POVDespite laying in bed all night, Corvin couldn’t will himself to go to sleep. Then, the awful dreams would return. He let so many people down. Would he be eternally stuck paying for his sins this time if he went back?It was so damn tempting to never speak to anyone again. The fewer people he let in, the fewer people he would hurt. And he would save his own ruined heart just a little. What was worse, Remus blamed Corvin for Elle not being here. He didn’t say it outright, but he wouldn’t stop whining about her absence. How would Corvin ever be able to sleep with all that racket in his own head?
Thursday-Friday Corvin’s POV Remus wouldn’t stop howling and trying to push forward. Corvin struggled to hold him back. Never before had Remus struggled for control like he did when he was around Elle, especially when he sensed her distress. After Corvin reacted so harshly, Remus had pushed until he agreed to come in here, show his appreciation for what she had done, and apologize. He had done that. It was the right thing to do anyway, and he knew it. So why was she upset now? He heard her sniffle and the crack in her voice and when she turned around, her eyes were wet and puffy. Remus attempted to surge forward again. ‘I have to help
