Bellatrix Sinclair
“Bonnie, BONNIE!” I called, frantically. “Where are you?”
But the line went dead, and my phone vibrated from a text message, Bonnie had shared her location without any other context. I try calling her again, bouncing my leg anxiously when she doesn’t pick up by the third time.
My heart leaped into my throat with distress, clicking on the location she shared that punched into my GPS. The place marked Nightwolf, a werewolf centre. My brows furrowed, why would she be there? It wasn’t even in the Green District which Lazarus sent her back to.
It was located in the Golden Kingdom….Lazarus’s Kingdom.
“Hey Bella, I brought some macaroons for you to try.” Karina said, excitement in her tone. “I’ve been experimenting with rose water and saffron-“her smile drops when she sees my face, “What’s wrong? What happened?”
My mind was racing in
Bellatrix Sinclair“Outsiders aren’t allowed.” The guard stated, motioning for the people behind me to enter. Stepping to the side, scanning the way regular people entered without invitation. Some even high-fived the guard, drinks in hand and masks fully decked in different colours. After a few minutes, one man stood out from the crowd. He wore a crimson-coloured three-piece suit with blackout sunglasses and pitch-black hair sleeked back. The guard stopped him, “Outsiders aren’t allowed.” He repeated robotically. The man smirked, sharpened teeth with a jewel adorned on each fang. “Indeed, they aren’t.” he agreed, pulling out a pocket watch from his slacks. There was nothing special about it, except the intricate pattern carved around a ruby stone. “As you can see, I’m far from an outsider.”My brows raised in surprise when the guard bowed, “My apologies sir.”He chu
Bellatrix SinclairMy ears must have deceived me, I scoffed in sheer astonishment. “Did you really just ask me that?”Fury burned in her eyes, “Why not? You’re the one who can fight and loves playing with weapons.” She sneered with pure disdain, “Why should I fucking suffer because of you.”Taking a deep breath, attempting to calm the buzzing of my blood cells. “How is this my fault? I didn’t put you in here!” I exclaimed, my blood boiling. She let out a mocking laugh. “Don’t play innocent with me. I know you told the King to send me here, you’re so jealous and scared that he would want me over you.”I exhaled sharply, rolling my eyes at her tantrum. She continued to sprout the same bullshit, heavily implying that I’m the cause of this and it’s all because I’m jealous that Lazarus will favour her over me.Sometimes I wondered what goes on in her mind, whether she registers how ridiculous she sounds. I thought that in the past few days, she would have reflected upon her actions and rea
Lazarus de Loughrey“Ah, the smell of blood and fear.” I smirked, a mischievous edge in my voice. “Now that gets my attention.”All five men got down on one knee as a sign of respect. “My King.” They greeted in unison and got back up.Electronic music blasted from the stadium, spotlights of neon lights sprouting from inside in a exhilarating dance. Arching a playful brow, “What’s going on in there?”They glanced at each other, a sliver of fear swirling in their gaze. They pushed the man with royal blue hair towards me. “It’s just a small event, my King. A private event for people to appreciate…..unique fights.” He responded thickly, the colour draining from his face as he stood frozen and terrified.“Private.” I smiled devilishly, malice dripping from my voice. “And you didn’t think to invite me? I love these unique fights.”“Um, My King. I don’t think you would want to see this. It’s boring and not at all entertaining.”They wore horrified expressions at my cunning smile, a sinister
Lazarus de LoughreyAs King, there are certain measures one must take to protect their privacy. I needed a separate location for business, one that The Syndicate wasn’t aware of. On the outskirts, near the border of my Kingdom was an abandoned factory for over twenty years. They monitored my actions, they wouldn’t have found it odd if I bought an abandoned factory, they would be suspicious of why I hadn’t used it. Therefore, I converted it into a private research facility that focused on crystals and its effects on different types of supernatural species.Times have changed, species have evolved, and vampires have grown immune to vervain while we aren’t as reactive to wolfsbane as we once was. The Syndicate wouldn’t think twice of my motives, that the research facility was actually a cover for my own operations and transactions.Only trusted personnel were involved in order to maintain the façade. Only a handful of people were here at night, giving the Chief Scientist Victoria a curt
Bellatrix SinclairRelief flashed in Karina’s eyes when I returned to the palace, stripping off the clothes she had lent me. “Thank the goddess you returned before Lazarus; I had no idea how I was going to handle that.”My brows drew together in confusion, whisper-yelling at her. “I thought you said you could handle it; you said you had a plan.”“I lied of course.” She deadpanned, shoving the cloak into her closet.Shaking my head in amazement. “And here I thought you were the most organised, planned for everything.” I rebuked sarcastically. She waved her hand dismissively, “I’m rather proud that I managed to get you out unseen, considering you only gave me one hour to create that plan.” She scolded with exaggerated sarcasm.A lump formed in my throat; the horrors that transpired in Nightwolf might have been orchestrated by Lazarus. I didn’t know how to feel about that, only that it would intensify my hatred for him. Something so inhumane and vile – a part of me believed he would be t
Bellatrix SinclairSweat trailed down my back at his words, pursing my lips as his hand slipped off. “Where’s the fire, Ma Cherie?” he teased with a lifted brow. “Cat got your tongue.”My gaze hardened, “How did you know?”He hummed a tune of mischief, sparks emitting from his touch as he ran his fingers along my cheek. “Why should I give you answers and gain nothing in return.”“What do you want?”His lips curled into a devilish smile, allure dripping in his voice. “I love those words coming from your lips. Shall we play a game, Ma Cherie?”Arching a brow, peaked with curiosity and apprehension. “What game?”“Don’t worry love, it’s nothing dangerous…. well, nothing that would shed blood.”“I don’t believe you.”“Good girl.” He praised, winding a lock of my hair around his finger, “Never believe my intentions as pure and honest because I’m not that kind of man.” His eyes mirrored the intensity of the night sky without any stars, dark and dangerous. “Let’s play a game of truth. For eve
Bellatrix SinclairLazarus pushed off the bed, standing at the edge. He resembled the god of death, illuminated by darkness. “Seems like a fair price.” He licked his lips, the action predatorial and seductive. “What’s it going to be Bellatrix?”Trepidation slithered down my spine, fire coursing through my veins. My heart pounded viciously, thundering in my ears. Swallowing thickly, ignoring the anxiety simmering at the surface. “Is that all you want?” I fired back, my frustration spilling over. “If you want to fuck, just say it.”He chucked darkly, gazing down at me with shadowed allure. His touch was feather-light as they danced along my ankle, sending shivers through me. “Pretty girl, if I wanted to fuck you then you would be on your hands and knees by now.” His tone laced with dark charm and smooth whiskey, “I want to watch you spread these pretty thighs and show me how wet you are for me.”The dampness between my thighs became more prominent, a buzzing under my skin. His lips curv
Bellatrix SinclairSpiders crawled along my spine, hair-raising at the back of my neck. Christians words blurred into white noise, straining my ears to hear the patterned footsteps and slight chewing of gum. We were on our way to meet Lazarus, a man with many enemies.Snatching the gun from Christian’s waistband, pushing the barely directly at the perpetrator’s forehead. “I hope you don’t do this professionally because you suck at it.” I deadpanned. “Lower the knife before I blow your fucking brains out.” My voice calm and clear in my instructions, watching the man snap the gum in his mouth before dropping the knife.Christian motioned for the guards to arrest him, dishevelled brown hair and murderous orbs that shot daggers at me. “You think you’re the fucking queen, you are nothing.” He snarled, “Lazarus doesn’t deserve to be King, he’s a monster-““Are you done? I don’t have all day to listen to this.” I retorted, watching him struggle relentlessly against the guard’s hold. His face
Bellatrix SinclairThe final stages of the competition would take place tomorrow, during the week in which I became Prince Thalion’s aide I saw the lengths these women would go to garner his favor – especially Cassandra. They kissed ass and it was in vain. Prince Thalion was kind, mirroring the statement of forgiving but never forgetting. I narrowed my eyes at him, studying his demeanor as Cassandra giggled, handing over a tray of assorted macaroons. This was a tactic in her apology for disgracing him, providing different sweets as a peace offering.“Thank you, Cassandra.” Prince Thalion smiled. She glanced at me, disgust washing over her features for a brief second before that plastic smile pulled at her lips. She bowed, blushing. “I made them myself, I hope they are to your liking. Please enjoy, Prince Thalion.”She left and I scoffed bitterly, casting him a dry look. “Don’t tell me you buy that nonsense that it’s homemade?”Prince Thalion’s smile was dazzled with a hint of mischief
Bellatrix SinclairLazarus gently laid Thalion onto the bed, changing his room to one of the master suite’s. A teasing smile tugged at my lips, “Thought you hated him?”Suddenly, he caught my hand, threading his fingers through mine. “I still do.”I rolled my eyes, clearly the actions weren’t aligning if he truly despised Thalion. “But I appreciate his warning.” He murmured softly. “I’m grateful to anyone who wants to protect you.”A sudden jolt shot through my heart, a stumble in my pulse that had me squeezing his hand. Lazarus has disturbed the peace and twisted my mind into craving this possession, his love.Even when I knew this was wrong, even though I knew it would become a hindrance in the future.Thalion’s words echoed, playing on a loop. Death was inevitable but one filled with suffering and regret was something I didn’t want.Tugging him along, straight into his room. “We need to talk.”Bathed in darkness, unable to hear the party downstairs. Reluctantly I let his hand go an
Bellatrix SinclairI teetered the edge of curiosity and fear, my breath held captive in my lungs until they burned. “Do you wish to know your future?” He asked in a gentle tone.Swallowing the doubt creeping into my mind, hesitant as the words slipped out. “Yes.”He leaned in slightly, peering into my soul with softened eyes. Each colour glowed within the darkness, captivating me like a spell. Silence stretched between us, thickened by unspoken tension as he stared into my eyes – yet I couldn’t look away.Thalion blinks, extinguishing the glow in his irises. “The future is unpredictable, written in sand and not stone.”Puffing out my lips, humming a teasing tune. “I think I’m finally able to understand your poetic way of speaking.”He chuckles, a flicker of amusement washing over his features. “My speech changes when I use my ability.”Suddenly the atmosphere shifted, thickened by desolation. Thalion features softened with traces of sadness. “I hope you never encounter the darkest par
Bellatrix SinclairWarmth emitted from Thalion’s hand as he took ahold of mine, leading me away from the grandiose event and outside the palace into a different area that left me unsettled. This path was bathed in darkness, illuminated by a massive fountain spilling water high into the air like fireworks. We take our seats at the edge of the fountain, an icy sensation washing over my body from the cold stone. Unease curdled in my chest, “Why did you bring me here, Prince Thalion?”He raised his head, gazing upon the vast sky. “I assumed that you needed a break from smiling, especially when it never reached your eyes.”An itch flared along my collarbone, agitated by others reading my mind so easily. Arching a challenging brow at him, “What about you? You always wear your hair in a bun but tonight you wore it down.”“You caught me.” The corners of his lips lifted into a bittersweet smile, “I should be used to the stares by now.” He lets out a quiet chuckle, “The look of disgust however,
Lazarus De LoughreyFire roared in my chest, flames spilling into my veins and setting my body alight as I watched Bellatrix and Thalion dance. She was different with him; her radiant smile and glowing aura resembled the sun shining with happiness.Something I’m unable to give her, my heart and happiness. I can only offer my soul and that doesn’t seem like enough because there is nothing left of it.Consumed by my own thoughts, I lost sight of Bellatrix and Thalion. A vicious pounding ignited in my chest, a lump forming in my throat as fear surged through my bloodstream. Frantically searching through the crowd for them, but they have completely disappeared.“King Lazarus, you shouldn’t have such a look on your face.” Emmett said casually, sipping on a champagne.I scowled. “What look?”“Like you want to kill someone.”“I always look like this, why do you have a problem now?” I questioned, annoyed.Emmett had interrupted my search for the pair, my rage was ready to explode if he didn’t
Bellatrix SinclairThe tension between them sizzled with disdain, crackling like lightening ready to strike. They were shooting daggers at each other above my head and that acrimony spilled into the atmosphere around us. My cheeks ached from this forced smile while Lazarus and Thalion didn’t care to fake pleasantries.Even though we were fucking live! This was beyond uncomfortable, like ants crawling on my skin. Dancing my gaze between them with this aggravating smile, “Can you two please act properly so I can leave.”Prince Thalion smiled at Lazarus, “It seems that you are upsetting your participant.”Lazarus’s jaw tensed, malice dripping from his dark eyes. “Don’t begin to understand what Bellatrix wants.”I exhaled sharply, pressure building in my chest while I remained composed in front of the camera. They have no idea the repercussions of their actions, especially because it will backfire upon me. I’m the human, I’m already treading on thin ice with the public despite my popularit
Bellatrix SinclairLazarus radiated an aura of distilled enmity, seeping into the radioactive silence between us. He marched with me in toe, not yielding in his punishing grip on my arm. “Lazarus, I need to-““Don’t speak.” He commanded steely.Pressing my lips tightly together, suppressing the irritation bubbling in my chest. He burst into his room and threw me onto the bed, bathing us in a hue of red lights as I briefly catch a glimpse from the window of the starry night sky.I blinked and suddenly – Lazarus loomed over me; eyes locked upon mine with an overwhelming presence that left me breathless.“What are you doing?” I gritted out in annoyance, “Get off me Lazarus, I need to return to the palace.”“You aren’t going anywhere.” He stated definitively, darkness swirling in his eyes. “Ma Cherie, you forget who you belong to.”My fingers dug int
Bellatrix SinclairMy brows drew together in confusion, “That has been the known answer for years, even before I existed. It’s a tale as old as time.”He smiled softly, an aura of wisdom radiating from his features. “Do you know what a prophecy means?”My face fell, emulating an expression of watching paint dry. “Predicting what will happen in the future.”“Forgive me, I did not mean to question your intelligence.” Prince Thalion laughed, the sound decadent to the ears and ringing a soft tune. “I’m simply sparking debate upon your knowledge.”Narrowing my eyes at him playfully as I pursed my lips. “I cannot resist a challenge.”“The future is ever-changing, and the interpretation of a prophecy mirrors the same sentiment. As you have disclosed, the mistreatment of hybrids is a tactic to suppress the fulfilment of this prophecy. What they have not realize
Lazarus De Loughrey“I didn’t expect her to be so knowledgeable on Elven culture. Prince Thalion was quite impressed by her and has chosen her to be his aide.” Emmett informed, beaming with pride. The palace that housed all the participants was built with hidden tunnels centuries ago, along with hidden rooms that had no doors. The only entrance and exit were through the tunnel, one could use this information to their knowledge and keep someone imprisoned here for an eternity. It was a maze, like my own castle.Initially I came to teach Bellatrix the Elven etiquette in order to impress Thalion, briefing her on the culture and making her stand out.But she did that all on her own. There was an emptiness that seeped into my chest, emotions that didn’t seem rational were fizzling in my brain as flames soared through my veins. Bellatrix had this magnetic power that had everyone gravitating towards her, intrigued by the very essence of her soul. And I hated it. I didn’t like the attention s
