Relief flashed in Karina’s eyes when I returned to the palace, stripping off the clothes she had lent me. “Thank the goddess you returned before Lazarus; I had no idea how I was going to handle that.”

My brows drew together in confusion, whisper-yelling at her. “I thought you said you could handle it; you said you had a plan.”

“I lied of course.” She deadpanned, shoving the cloak into her closet.

Shaking my head in amazement. “And here I thought you were the most organised, planned for everything.” I rebuked sarcastically.

She waved her hand dismissively, “I’m rather proud that I managed to get you out unseen, considering you only gave me one hour to create that plan.” She scolded with exaggerated sarcasm.
