The moment my lips touch hers, memories that I was forced to forget flood me, and my head feels like it’s about to explode.

“Are you well?” my Queen asks.

I smile, not wanting to worry her. The pain is not really that bad. I endured worse. “Just a headache.” I put my arm around her shoulder. “Come. We must get ready for tonight’s coronation.”

She looks at me, fear flashing in her green eyes. “Coronation?”

“You accepted the Eternal Rose. Don’t you know what it means?”

“No.”

I chuckle softly. “That you accept me as your mate. The Eternal Rose was given by King Aris to Queen Sera on the day of their wedding.”

She thinks for a moment. “Oh,” she says when she understands the true meaning of my gift.

‘I think she is in shock,’ my wolf says.
