Chapter 4: the day before the celebration

Ryder's pov

   I wake up and look over to see Jess's naked body laying beside me. She isn't my destined mate. She informed me a month ago that she had found her destined mate and rejected him. I knew she wasn't mine when I turned 17 and I didn't feel a pull towards her. I started having this strange pull towards the stupid orphan which was weird there is no was she could be my mate. We will find out tomorrow on our birthday if its ture. If it is I will just reject her and make her my slave forever. When I am alpha she will never know happiness.

   I know that Jess just wants the power and money from being Luna but, my parents insist that she be luna. I must get up and get ready today Alpha Xavier and beta John will be here. I must make sure everything is prepared and ready for their arrival. 

   I walk down stairs and there is the orphan preparing breakfast and theres that pull again its stronger. This p****s me off. I walk up and shove her to the ground. "Orphan you need to get the f**k up and finish break fast then prepare our 2 nicest rooms for the alpha and beta from the black wolf pack, they will be arriving today." I see a tear roll down her eye as she stands and my wolf, Ronan, wimpers a little. And she looks up at me, f**k.

  'Shut up' I tell him and block him out.

  She can not be our mate shes a good for nothing orphan slave. I don't know what the moon goddess was thinking. Tomorrow my birthday present to myself will be rejecting her. I kick her back to the ground and walk back to my room to Jess.

Katerina's pov

   Tomorrow is my 18th birthday is the day that I may get to meet my mate. Hopefully,  he's from a visiting pack and can take me away from here. I get up and get ready for my morning of preparing breakfast for everyone. I take my time getting ready because I always get up before everyone so I know I have time. Its hard to get ready quickly with my ribs broke and the bruises. After I am dressed I walk to the kitchen and start making breakfast. I hear a foot step behind me and before I get the chance to see who walked in Ryder throws me to the ground. He informs me that the alpha and beta of the black wolf back will be here today. 

  I can't help the stray tear that falls as I stand. My entire body hurts and the impact from hitting the ground sent needles through my whole body with my broken bones and bruises. Just then, I think I hear i very quiet wimper come from Ryder. I can but help look up at him confused he gets this p****d off look on his face and kicks me down again. For a split second I didn't realized I had looked him in the eyes that is probably why he got so mad.

   I finish making breakfast and I head to get the 2 nicest rooms ready. The first room i prepare is going to be for the Alpha. Its the largest guest room, painted in charcoal grey, its on the 2nd floor of the pack house. There are French doors that lead out to a balcony that looks off into an field and beyond that field is the tree line, a huge king sized bed and its own large bathroom. I take my time in here this is my favorite room to get ready when guest come. The second bedroom is right beside the last. Its the same color but smaller with a queen-sized bed and its own bathroom. It too had a balcony on the opposite side of the building it looks out to the training grounds. 

  Just as I finish and go to walk back down stairs I bump into Ryder and Jayce. Jayce grabs me up by my hair and dragging me back to my room. "The alpha and beta from the black wolf  pack will be here soon. You're to much of a disgrace to show your face. You'll stay here until its time for dinner to be made." Ryder says. Then they spit on my and walk out slamming my door hehind them.

   A few minutes later I hear a few omegas hurry past my room talking. "Theyre here we must hurry and get dinner started." Said one omega. 

  "Did you see the alpha he was the hottest man I've ever seen and his beta wasn't to bad looking either!" I hear the other omega say.

  Hmm I wish I could see him but I know alpha would never allow that to happen. I slowly make my way out of the room and to the kitchen to start making dinner. I don't get to serve today because I am not allowed to see the alpha. Maybe I can just catch a glimpse of them. Just as I got to peak through the door leading to the dining area Luna walks through the door knocking me on my ass.

  She reaches and slaps my face, hard. "Look at the little whore trying to sneak a peak at alpha Xavier and his beta. Wait until i tell Carter you will be gravely punished." She laughs then turns and addresses the omegas. "Quickly with the food we don't want to leave our guests waiting."

   Then, one by one the omegas carry trays of food out to the dining area and I retreat back to my room to nurse the new bruise on my face. This was the first time i had been hit in the face in a while..

  After dinner alpha comes in my room and throws me to the ground calling me a whore and other insults for trying to see the other alpha. He kicks me three times in the stomach and one to the ribs. Hopefully tomorrow my nightmare will end. I lay down and go to sleep. I dreams again of a giant white wolf with bright, light teal eyes and a moon on its forehead.

   I wake up and its just before midnight and I hear voices outside my door, they pass. I look at the time and its 11:55pm. 'Only a few more minutes and it's my birthday i think to myself. I go look in the mirror and my bruises have healed. Now I know I'm very close to getting my wolf because, with a wolf come the ability to heal quicker.

   At 12am I wish myself a happy birthday then I wait for anything. 20 minutes pass then I get a horrible migraine. I lay down and try to calm myself down then I hear a voice. 

  'Hello child my name is Rosalie and I am your wolf' the voice says.

  'I am so happy you're finally here' 

  'So am I. I've seen and felt all of the trauma you have been through im sorry I couldn't come sooner' she says apologetically. 

Just the I smell the most amazing smell I've ever smelled. It smelled of the fresh cut grass and mint. 'Mate' Rosalie chants in my head. My mate?

  My door swings open and there stands Ryder and Jess. "Mine" Rosalie forces through my lips. 

  "Oh my goddess, she's your mate?" She says looking at Ryder. 

  "Yes I told you it was a possibility but I also told you the plan." Ryder says to Jess.

  "Just hurry up and reject her so we can go back to bed, baby." Rosalie wimpers at her words. And I look at Ryder. 

  "I,  Ryder Brock future alpha of the midnight moon pack, reject you, Katerina Jade also of the midnight moon pack, as my mate and future luna." His work stabs into my chest like a knife. Rosalie howls in pain. He goes to turn and walk away but I'm not gonna let him get away with this scafe free.

  "Alpha wait, I forgot." He turns and looks at me. "I, Katerina Jade of the midnight moon pack, accept your rejection."

 He falls to the floor cluching his chest. "You'll pay for that you no good orphan." He gets up and kicks me in the ribs and walks away.

'Its okay Kat. He was good for nothing anyways' Rosalie says to me. I could hear the sorrow in her voice. She hurts as much as I do.

'Tomorrow they will be to busy to bother us let's go to sleep.' I tell her.
