“It’s okay, Cindy. It’s fine, really,” Daisy said to Cindy who kept sighing, with a really sad expression.
She had just come to inform Daisy that she had to be at Finn's media as the director urgently had need of her.
"I honestly shouldn't leave. I'm so sorry Daisy and I’ll be back soon,” she said, but Daisy shook her head.
"No, Cindy, you've done a lot for me already. Go to Finn's media and then you should rest too."
"Cindy it's okay. You should hurry and go now," Violet chipped in lowly, with her eyes bloodshot.
Finally, Cindy nodded in agreement. “I believe your mum would fight through. I'll leave now. Please take care of yourselves."
Then she looked at Edward.
"Please take care of them, Edward," she stated and he nodded.
"I will," he said, assuringly.
And with a final wave at them, Cindy turned around and walked away. Daisy watched Cindy walk away and couldn’t help but sigh.
"Let's go over to that place," Violet said, pointing at a long chair just after the entrance of the corridor they had just walked out from.
"Then I'll put a call across to dad to know what's up and how the surgery is going," she added.
Following her suggestion, Edward guided his girlfriend, Daisy back into the place, with Violet walking beside them.
They sat down and Violent took out her phone to call her dad.
But as they sat down there, with Violet waiting for the call to get through, a nurse suddenly appeared from outside, approaching them in the opposite direction.
She had a blue hospital mask on, making it difficult to mark her face.
Daisy wasn’t at first bothered about who she was until their eyes met. Those eyes looked as dark and cold as an abyss, and for some unknown reason, she felt a chill run down her spine just by looking at the nurse.
Her eyes were dark grey, and they felt oddly strange but familiar like she had seen those eyes somewhere.
Dark-grey eyes…
She tried to remember but couldn’t. Instead, her head hurt.
The nurse held her gaze for seconds before peeling her eyes away. Then she passed by them wordlessly, walking further down the corridor.
From where they sat, Daisy unconsciously found herself following the nurse further away as she went with her eyes.
The nurse was blonde with fringes, with her bob gently brushing her shoulders. But as hard as Daisy racked her memory, she knew no one in that description.
But then, why had that nurse's presence made her feel so alarmed and anxious that her heart had raced hard when she passed by them? Daisy could not help but wonder.
Suddenly remembering she had been feeling paranoid and overreacting since her mum’s sudden emergency, Daisy huffed and brushed it off.
‘I'm definitely overreacting,’ Daisy concluded in her mind.
Unknown to her, Edward had been frozen for a few seconds when his eyes met briefly with those eyes, but he shrugged it off too. Anyone could have dark grey eyes anyway. Besides her hair was totally unfamiliar to him.
And even though those eyes looked really familiar, he did not want to admit it. He had long decided not to have anything to do with the woman from his past.
He felt slightly guilty thinking about her, but things had changed now.
'It's been a year, so she definitely would have moved on,' he thought.
Suddenly, Daisy got up from where they were all seated and walked briskly towards the emergency ward they had wheeled her mum out from.
Edward stood up immediately and went after her while Violet slowly followed them as the call with her dad had finally connected.
"Dad? How is mum? What's going on and the surgery?" She immediately asked, her voice sounding really anxious.
Getting to the ward, Daisy warily entered.
The lights in there were low. There were cords everywhere and the unfinished IV solution hanging on a drip stand by the only bed in the room. It was obviously a private VIP ward.
There was also a tray with sterilized tools on the bed.
Daisy took slow steps towards the bed her mum had laid on, knelt by it, and buried her face in the white sheets as her heart thumbed heavily.
She inhaled her mum’s saint, now mixed with antiseptics, and her tiny drop of tears fell on the sheets.
Her shoulders began trembling, and soon, she felt a hand gently part her shoulder. Edward was now kneeling beside her as she cried silently.
"Mum, you have to be fine. You have to be strong and come out of this," she cried, wrapped in his arms.
The dark grey-eyed nurse walked out of the hospital building to the parking lot, her blue mask hiding a great deal of her face, her initial cold eyes showing a mix of emotions.
She unlocked her black SUV, got into it, and placed her hands on the steering wheel with a huff.
She could not believe it!
The hate she thought she had built up for him over the months could not stop her heart from skipping when she passed by them, and what was this rush of jealousy she was feeling now?
'Jealous? No way will I be jealous!'
Her eyes went cold again, and she scoffed.
‘This is it. I am not stopping.’ She gripped tightly unto the steering wheel, her gaze cold, murderous, and unyielding.
‘I have started this anyway and I'm not stopping! No going back!'
'I will mess with everyone around him and then destroy him!'
Back at the hospital’s recovery room, Mrs Louis slowly opened her eyes. The surgery was successful and she had been transferred to the recovery room, only to regain consciousness after two hours!
It felt like she had gone on a long journey and seen a vision. While the nurse monitoring her went out to call the doctors, her blurry vision stared deep ahead with her heart trembling with fear. Her face was pale and white as death.
If her time is up and it's time she returns to her maker, then she has no problem with that. Though she would miss her dear husband and daughters, the ones she loved so much.
But then, Daisy was in trouble! She had seen it, but death was knocking.
She did not want to die. She wanted to at least warn her daughter of the scores of burning arrows she was going to pass through soon, but how could she do that when death was hovering over her like the heat of sexual pleasure?
At that, tears strayed down her eyes from the corner of her eyes down both sides of her face.
Doctors soon filed into the room as they went to check the monitor and other machines connected to her. Suddenly, it made an alarming screeching noise, and she could vaguely hear the senior doctor exclaim, “Get the defibrillator. It’s a cardiac arrest!”
Then there were footsteps, pushing of machines and equipment being pressed against her chest.
“Charge 17 joules. Shock!”
“Charge 20 joules. Shock!”
“Charge 30 joules. Shock!”
But she was slowly embracing death. As their noises faded away, the last thing she heard was the thin noise from the monitor.
She didn’t want to die just yet. She wanted to at least warn her daughter.
“Daisy… b..be careful,” she could only say that in her mind as two more drops of tears strayed down her face. She could not even voice a word out.
How would Daisy hear now?
Who would help her out?
Who would protect her daughter?
Six months later… In a private room in a high-end restaurant, there was soft cool music romancing the guests and giving them an enthralling feeling. Daisy looked beautiful and sexy in a body-hug long red dress that accentuated her moderately sexy body. The dress has a V-cut from her neckline to her navel, leaving a hint of her sumptuous fair fine boobs and cleavages. Adorned in silver pieces of jewellery that brought out her mild and graceful temperament, she was alluring to behold. Daisy was dressed to the nines and made heads turn. Edward was dressed in crazy jean pants, a vest, and a jean jacket alongside a pair of sneakers. He looked simple, but his long dreads made him look wild and extremely sexy. A month ago, he and Chris had decided to change their hairstyles from their original buzz cut to the American dread style. Daisy had firmly kicked against the idea at first. But never had she expected their look to turn extremely wild and sexy. She fell for him more. After all, t
Edward had returned to the private room. He looked around the room for his woman but could not find her anywhere, so he went up to Cindy who seemed to be sitting all alone. Rose having to answer a call had excused herself to a corner in the private room, leaving Cindy all alone at their table. Even though they were both best friends to Daisy Louis, they both weren't best friends but they went along pretty well. “Hey Cindy,” Edward called her as he got to her. Cindy turned to him and for a second, she wondered why the Lady wanted her to seduce him. Anyways, she flashed him a smile. “Hey” “Where is Daisy?” he asked, and Cindy furrowed her brows before saying, “I think she went to the lounge at the left, down the corridor.” "Oh thank you..." He said and Cindy smiled sweetly at him once more. She had paid someone to drug him and she wondered if the person had successfully done that. "I'll have to confirm," she muttered. Edward stepped out of the room with his brows furrowed an
Cindy had her eyes glued to the door Edward had walked out from ten minutes ago, and she hadn’t taken her eyes off ever since. She needed to give him time to catch Daisy in the act before going after him. She knew Edward loved Daisy so much, and that would definitely break him. Then, when he is at his lowest, it would be easier to succeed in seducing him. 'But why do I have to seduce and sleep with Edward? What if something goes wrong or I get caught?' she wondered, after all, she is ignorant of what the Lady from the Coasters wants to do with her seducing Edward and sleeping with him. Not like she does not want to. Infact, Cindy had become so blinded by her bitterness and hatred for her friend that she could do anything just to hurt Daisy, especially now that she gets to receive some rewards. Besides, Edward is quite handsome and sexy. He was quite a great catch so there’s nothing to lose. ‘Daisy is being fucked by some gigolo right now,' she thought and let out a sinister smil
For a moment there, Edward was in a daze. To say he was shocked is an understatement. For a moment there, Edward was in a daze. To say he was shocked is an understatement. 'Cindy? Trying to pleasure him? Why? Is she, not Daisy’s best friend?' He suddenly snapped back and slapped her hands off. “What are you doing??” he yelled angrily, and something went off in her mind. 'Is he not extremely hard right now? He could still get angry and slap my hand off.' Cindy looked down at her right hand, which she suddenly had to keep to herself but then, she knew she could not give up just yet. She had shown her true colours anyway, so what’s the point of pretending to act innocent and sorry? “Look, Edward, I just want to help you. The drug used on you is very effective, and the consequences would be grievous if you don’t relieve yourself. Daisy would never know a thing. Isn’t it just tonight?” “Were you the one that drugged me?” Edward suddenly asked as he cast a sharp murderous gaze at her t
Edward felt his heart clenching every second. It was as painful as death. “No…,” he shook his head in shock as more tears strayed out of his eyes. For a moment, he forgot about the pain he was feeling down there cause it was nothing compared to the pain he was feeling in his heart. How is this even possible? The room was dark, but the faint moonlight streaming through the window showed every bit of her face. The same sexy look he had deluded himself with that only he could see was what she was giving this mother fucker that ramped her like a madman. And what’s more, she seemed to enjoy every bit of it. An unknown number had sent him a soundless video of his girlfriend sleeping with another man right under his nose. The person who made the video had captured their clothes tousled on the floor near the bed, which was exactly the red dress she wore tonight. He had dreamt and imagined himself ripping that sexy gown off and doing what was his but who could have thought… Remembering t
Faint sunlight streamed through the thin window curtains and shone on the faces of the two people sleeping and holding onto each other. Under the light, with her long jet-black hair, Daisy looked beautiful and alluring. Her red lips were curled into a half smile like she was having a beautiful dream, making her look sexy in the early morning. She let out a small sigh and smuggled into the arms of the man next to her. His chest was exceptionally hard, and when she put an arm around him, she felt his tone and well-defined abs probe against her arm. But suddenly, she felt something odd. The faint saint coming from him isn’t what she is used to. He has this richly defined masculine fragrance entirely different from the usual peppermint she is familiar with from Edward. When she got the waft of the scent to be sandalwood, she smiled lightly, enjoying the faint scent coming from the man sleeping beside her who had, unknown to her, woken up and was staring at her with a stone-cold expres
Sitting by the door and staring in a daze, she tried to pull back the covers around her body. She saw her world, career and everything crumbling in front of her. Had that happened? She could not imagine the disappointment from her father, dead mother, sister, best friends and even the whole of Australia. No! That must never happen! Her hand holding her phone trembled as she stared with wide eyes. The knocking on the door persisted, and tears poured down her eyes. Suddenly, Wesley appeared behind her, wearing his shirt and pants. He grabbed her hand and yanked her off the floor. Without waiting for her to react, he pulled her towards the bathroom. “Don’t scream. Just come with me,” he warned through gritted teeth. After all, he knew her to always scream before making an announcement on social media. “I’m sure you don’t want to be caught here.” Hearing that, she held her peace and obediently followed him, dragging the sheet that hardly covered her body. They got to the bathroom
In the bathroom, Daisy took a bath and turned off the shower. She immediately grabbed the towel on the rack and slightly mopped her body with it. Her mind was still in a frenzy, and she had her heart in her mouth all along. Afterwards, she slipped into her dress and took out her phone. As she stared at the forty-nine missed calls displayed on her phone screen, her heart raced. The thought that things could have gone bad scared her to death. But sooner or later, she would definitely face whatever had happened. So she tapped on it and scrolled through. Rose had called her over twenty times, about six last night and the rest this morning. Her eyes widened when she saw this. Why would Rose call her so many times repeatedly early in the morning? Then there was Cindy, her dad, and her kid sis, Violet too. Her heart dropped when she saw Edward had not called her at all. Did he find out? Did he catch her? No, has it got to the news? Her heart raced more, and her eyes widened. Wit
