Tonight was a special day for Maria Brown. It marked the third anniversary of her marriage to Thompson Brown, a man who seemed to have everything: wealth, success, and a prominent presence in the business world. From the outside, their life together appeared to be a fairytale, a picture-perfect union of power and prestige.
But behind closed doors, Maria's reality was far from idyllic. The opulent mansion they called home was filled with an eerie silence, a haunting reminder of the loneliness she endured day after day. Thompson, consumed by his own ambitions and desires, had little time for his wife. He never introduced her to his colleagues or appeared by her side at social events. Instead, he kept her hidden away, like a dark secret he was ashamed to acknowledge.
As Maria prepared a lavish anniversary dinner, her heart ached with a mixture of anticipation and trepidation. She had spent the past three years yearning for the love and affection she believed she deserved, hoping that tonight would be different, that Thompson would finally see her and appreciate her presence. But deep down, she knew better than to expect a sudden change. But she still wanted to try and put efforts into their marriage.
Though the marriage didn't come the way she wished bit she was married lawfully. And it was her duty to take care of her home and husband. Maybe one day he will see her for who she is rather than what he was being fed outside about her. The pain of countless nights spent in solitude and the emptiness of a loveless marriage had etched themselves into her soul. She was scared and wished everything was a dream and things will turn for the better.
As she set the table with delicate china and flickering candles, Maria couldn't help but wonder how she had arrived at this point. She had once been a vibrant and independent woman, full of dreams and aspirations. Now, she was reduced to a mere shadow of herself, a dutiful wife who waited patiently for her husband's sporadic visits. The anguish of her unfulfilled desires weighed heavily upon her, threatening to suffocate her spirit.
Tonight, as Maria awaited Thompson's arrival, she couldn't help but question her own choices. Was this the life she had envisioned for herself? Was this the love she had hoped to find? The answers eluded her, lost in the depths of her shattered dreams.
As the minutes turned into hours, Maria sat alone at the beautifully adorned table, the flickering candles casting dancing shadows on her face. The silence was deafening, punctuated only by the distant ticking of a clock. The tears welled up in her eyes, a silent testament to the pain she had endured for far too long.
She remembered the night she was supposed to meet her sister at the silver star hotel. But while waiting for her sister taking a glass of juice, she felt light headed. She tried to go to the washroom to wash her face but something felt awful wrong with her body. She called for the waiter who served her and asked him to help her to outside. She wanted to take a cab to the hospital or better yet ask the person to call for help.
But she lost control of her body as the waiter helped her to the rooms upstairs. She tried to ask he was taking her but she could not control her own body.
" You will be okay ma'am. Your sister called for a doctor for you. He will be with you shortly to check on you." feeling assured since her sister was there she let go of the last conscious she had held on to and collapse to the darkness.
When she felt herself again she heard the voice of a person she knew very well but what she heard broke her heart. Her sister Ivonne Flores
" I want a video of all the action that happens between you two. Also make sure it goes viral. Don't worry about the balance. I will send the rest after everything is over." She clearly heard her giving instructions to someone over the phone. She pretended to be asleep and listened as she walked close to her and whispered in her ears. Don't blame me for this. You should blame your father for planning to marry you to the man I love. Thompson Brown is mine and no one will take him away from me. Not even father" It them hit her that she had fallen into the trap of her sister. A fight she didn't even know existed. and who the heck is Thompson Brown. The most sort after bachelor in the whole Orange city
The next thing she heard was the door being slammed hard.
As soon as she heard the door closed. she tried to gain control of her body and move holding the wall. She wanted to hurry and ran before whoever was coming over got there
She opened the door and peeped . Seeing there was no one. She went the opposite direction she heard the heels. She tried opening he next door and luckily it opened. She hoped she could get someone to help her. It was her luck that no one was in the room.
While she was in her thoughts, the main door opened and the elegant Thompson Brown walked in holding his usual black leather briefcase. She went to help take it away but as usual, he pushed her away from him.
" Get away from me." He looked different this night. " How many times do I have to tell you to stop your acting. No matter what you do. I will never love you. Get hold of yourself and stop your pretentious moves. You disgust me." with that he went to their room. Following closely behind him, she went to the room after him and waited as he took his clothes off and took a shower. She went downstairs but every step she took was too much for her. The pains of her heart was transferred to her every step. Each step she took signified her Misérables life and steps away from him one by. Even the most kind heart becomes tired after being trampled on over and over. She felt heavy her anticipation shaken as always. This time she felt that everything was too much. Sge felt like Thompson was not really the man for her. Her heart was becoming cold and cold each day. She felt she could not do it any more. She wanted it all to be over but her everything was in that relationship.
" Today is our anniversary. At least have dinner with me. I prepared it for a long time." she said as soon as he got out of the shower. He looked at her for a moment and then it struck him he had never looked at her that closely. Maria is a woman of medium height, standing at around 5'6" with a graceful posture. She has lustrous, wavy chestnut brown hair that falls just below her shoulders. Her eyes are a warm hazel, often sparkling with curiosity and intelligence. Maria has a heart-shaped face with a sprinkling of freckles across her nose and cheeks, giving her a youthful and approachable look. He could not deny the slight emotion he felt when he looked at her and then he remembered he had something to discuss with herHe nodded as he watched her frail body move. He could remember the woman he met the night he was drugged at the silver star hotel. He met a woman lying on his bed and the next thing he knew he had slept with her. What made things worse was the fact that their photos w
" All this years. I have tried to be a dutiful wife hoping you will love me eventually. No matter what effort I put on this marriage, you never really gave me a chance... Am I really this hateful? You never really listened to my end of the story about that night. All you do is listen to other people..." She laughed as she looked at the pen next to the drawer Maria's voice trembled with a mix of sadness and anger as she continued, "You believe every word that comes out of Ivonne's mouth, don't you? You've never bothered to hear my side of the story, to understand the truth. You've let her poison your mind against me."Thompson's eyes narrowed, his face contorted with rage. "Don't you dare bring her into this! This is about you and your deceitful ways. I trusted you, and you betrayed me!"Maria's laughter turned bitter, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "Betrayal? You think I'm the one who betrayed you? Thompson, you have no idea what lengths Ivonne went to in order to trap you i
She went to their room and she didn't find Thompson in the room. She sighed with relief thinking he probably left to his study and would not come back till morning. She had encountered the experience over and over. Her cold nights were all she knew.Looking at the empty bed, her tears could not help but fall. She was lonelier that any single woman. She had a husband but she was all alone. A man that is supposed to protect her is the one fighting her. A man that is supposed to trust her is the one doubting her loyalty and motives. The man that is supposed to be her shield has turned out to be the one exposing her. She didn't have the strength to cry in darkness. She wanted to pick the little pieces that is left of her life and start over. That was what she thought. But Maria would never have thought her life will take a turn for the worseShe walked to the closet and changed into her pajamas. She didn't need to put too much effort into her pajamas. She raised the duvet and sli
“I’ll... make my own, then,” he muttered, feeling a strange sense of loss. It was just breakfast, but it symbolized so much more. He moved towards the kitchen, fumbling with the coffee machine and bread. He could feel Maria's presence in the garden, strong and distant. Her silence weighed on him. As he prepared his meal, Thompson’s mind raced. He had grown used to being in control, but this morning, he felt like a stranger in his own home. He had never seen Maria so resolute, so ready to move on. For the first time, he realized how much damage had been done, how deeply she had been hurt. But thinking of what kind of a woman she was, he knitted his brows. Were it not for the call he received in the morning he would not stoop so low to try and keep her a little longer. He was so angry when he received the call that he fell sick while he was a way, Maria was in deep thought and confusion. Between last night and this morning, what happened to this man. he seemed changed. His behavio
