I realised I was in trouble at that point, and a sense of panic washed over me.
Tremors ran through my body as I cautiously shifted my gaze, trying to avoid direct eye contact with him. Instead, my eyes drifted past him, landing on the intimidating figures standing behind him.
Alpha Ares, tall and imposing, leaned casually against the wall, his strong frame supported by the unyielding surface.
The two other men that stood next to him, dressed in sleek, all-black clothes, had their eyes pinned to me.
My attention was immediately drawn to the first man’s mesmerising green eyes and the intricate tattoo that adorned his muscular arms. His long hair cascaded over his shoulders, adding to his enigmatic appeal.
Derek Ray.
There was a smirk on his face. After all, he was the first one who had branded me as a ‘stalker’ and now he was probably smacking a ‘see, I was absolutely right’ across my face with his eyes.
Standing next to him was a man with a thin but very visible scar across his face. It started from the corner of his forehead, slicing across his eye brow, the bridge of his nose, and ended on his other cheek.
He was Kai Giovanni.
The air grew heavy with tension as the silence lingered, and I couldn’t help but feel the weight of their gazes bearing down on me, suffocating my every breath.
I was standing in front of the Shadowblood Men.
All four of them, in a clear light; bullying a man.
“What are you doing?” I asked, moving toward them even though my fingers were shaking in fear.
“Leave!” Marcus growled louder.
My eyes cut to Ares. But he was staring at the man on the ground with a stony gaze. As if that man was not even a human to him.
What happened to the man that I had seen in the pictures?
The soft, angelic man…?
“I am not going anywhere,” I muttered, my voice laced with determination.
It was none of my business but seeing them attack one man like this… it started to anger me.
The man, now on his knees, appeared unscathed physically, but his trembling body and vacant gaze revealed the terror consuming him. His face was red and stained with tears. His hands rested on his knees, gripping them tightly, as he struggled to steady his breaths.
A black card lay before him on the ground, its surface adorned with bold, gold letters spelling out the unmistakable ‘S.’
The infamous Blacklist card—a harbinger of impending doom, signifying that the person who received it was about to endure the worst week, if not year, of their life. A tradition created by the alphas of the Shadowblood Territory.
If anyone dared to offend alphas of Shadowblood territory, that person’s name appeared on the blacklist that was displayed on a big, glowing sign.
Your name on the blacklist meant- you are shunned.
No one would talk to you. No one would even look at you. You won’t be served lunch in the cafeteria. You won’t be allowed inside the pack house. You won’t have any friends left. The day your name appears on the blacklist is the day you become a public property for mockery, insults, physical assault, mental torture and disgrace.
And this time the victim of it all was the man on the ground on his knees, Carlos.
Alpha Kai let out a snide chuckle, “Attention seeking whores need a fucking leash to be kept away from us now.”
“I’m going to call for help,” I threatened, my voice quivering with the hope that the fear of being caught in their malicious act would scare these men. “Let him go.”
My threat hung in the air, met with a chilling silence that seemed to mock me. Though I knew deep down it was futile, I couldn’t understand why I had uttered those words.
And then the man moved. Not the one on the ground.
Alpha Marcus.
He moved toward me.
He approached me with measured steps, his demeanour akin to that of a predator on the prowl.
Panic surged through my veins, urging me to turn and flee for my life, but an invisible force held me in place, rooted to the spot.
In the next heartbeat, Marcus did something I had never anticipated.
He grabbed me by the throat, swiftly turning me to the side, and then he pushed me backward with such force that robbed my feet of their ground. He pinned me against the wall, his hand wrapped around my throat in a painful grip.
“I warned you,” he uttered in a voice as cold as death itself.
My hand instinctively clutched at his wrist, my wide eyes locked with his, a silent plea for release, but my feeble attempts to break free were futile against his strength. He leaned in, his chilling breath caressing my lower lip and chin,
“You are turning out to be dumber than I had thought.”
A painful twist knotted in my chest, squeezing my heart as his words pierced through me.
As my eyes slid past him, I watched as Alpha Derek forcefully seized the kneeling man by the collar, hauling him out of the room.
Marcus growled, his voice trembling with anger at my audacity. “When I tell you to get the hell out, you better damn well listen, Stalker! Mind your own damn business instead of recklessly thrusting yourself into a group of men like a foolish, clueless moron!”
“P-please... l-let me go,” I managed to stutter, my voice trembling.
He maintained a tight grip on my throat, anger etched on his face.
From the corner of my eye, I caught a glimpse of Ares and Kai leaving the cafeteria, their departure amplifying the sense of isolation and danger that surrounded me.
As soon as they exited the room, Marcus released his grip on my throat, and I crumbled to the ground on my hands and knees, desperately gasping for each precious breath.
“If you want to stay alive, do not try to cross me ever again!” Marcus' voice thundered in the empty hall.
Struggling to regain my composure, I managed to lift my head, my eyes fixated on Marcus as he made his way out of the cafeteria.
His figure gradually blurred as he retreated, but before he could disappear entirely, the words escaped my lips.
“You are shameless.”
Marcus halted in his tracks, startled. He turned around, his eyes filled with disbelief.
“What did you just say?”
Summoning every ounce of strength I had left, my voice emerged hoarse and feeble, “You are shameless,” I repeated, locking my gaze with his unwaveringly.
“As the Alphas of your territories, you…” deep breath, “you all are supposed to help the members of your pack,” My voice trembled with a mix of vulnerability and determination, “to be there for the people who depend on you. But instead, you choose to bully them?”
Still on my hands and knees, I became acutely aware of the bruises that would inevitably blossom on my neck. The physical pain only served to fuel my resolve, empowering me to confront him despite my vulnerability.
“You are disgusting,” I hissed, my eyes filled with rage as I watched Marcus turn back around and approach me. “You’re nothing but a bully! You don’t know how to protect your people and instead, you make them fear challenging you like a damn coward.”
Before I could utter another word, he grabbed me by the collar and yanked me off the floor, forcing me to stand on trembling legs. The ground felt unsteady beneath me as he stared at me with a deadly intensity, as if he was about to end my life.
“And who the hell gave you the right to teach me how to run my fucking pack?”
My voice quivered, not from fear, but from sheer fury. “Does that really matter now? You clearly need it.”
“You’re remarkably bold for someone who could be exiled from my pack in the next damn second at one fucking command out of my mouth.”
I scoffed, incredulous at his audacity. The nerve of this man was high. The ego in him was higher.
“You act like a child,” I retorted, my voice dripping with disdain. “I wish you understood that your people are the ones you should be protecting, not harming! Your father should have done a better job of teaching you some god damn manners, Alpha Marcus.”
The look in his eyes turned to pure fire.
And then, he seized something from the table, yanked his arm back, and struck me across the face with force.
My head snapped to the side, shock mingled with a light sting of pain etched across my features.
The lukewarm liquid and rice from the paper tray he had used as a weapon trickled down my cheek, staining my neck and body.
“I will. KILL you. If I EVER hear you speak. Of my father again!” he declared in an icy, deathly tone.
He stormed out of the hall.
I stood there, frozen. My heart pounding as the sting on my cheek intensified.
It took a while for the initial shock to wear off, and when it did, I slowly lifted my head, my heart fracturing into countless shards.
It didn’t hurt when he struck me.
But the shame that strike brought was the worst feeling ever.
The urge to cry overwhelmed me—I had endured a lot of things, but nothing as degrading and humiliating as this.
My heart felt lodged in my throat. Overwhelmed with emotions, I couldn’t hold back the flood of tears any longer. I burst into sobs, my body shaking terribly with each breath.
When I left the lunch hall, I didn’t even register the path I took, but halfway down the road, I removed my shirt and used it to wipe away the remnants of food that clung to my hair and face. It was a futile attempt, as the sticky residue stubbornly clung to my skin.
The moment I entered inside the pack house, I felt a chill run up my spine as all heads turned toward me. The look on their faces was strange. Ignoring them, I pulled out my phone and started walking, but then paused in my steps when I glanced at my phone screen.
It was flooded with notifications.
Thousands of them.
Mocking comments and insulting messages filled my screen. My heart sank as I opened the notifications and discovered a video featuring me in it. Fear clenched my heart, and I already had a sinking feeling about what I was about to see on the screen.
With trembling fingers, I clicked the play button and watched the video unfold before my eyes.
Marcus and I appeared on the screen. And then the video cut to him slapping the plate across my face. The video played on a loop, mocking me for challenging an alpha like a damn fool. His cruel words echoed through the hall, seeping into my very core once again. My legs shook beneath me, and I could feel the weight of humiliation settling upon me once again. I had barely set foot in this pack, and already I had become a target for mockery. My heart pounded so hard that I got dizzy. The anxiety, the panic taking over my senses. He had to do it to show me who ruled? To show me that I should know my place and never challenge him…? That fucking bastard. That god damn bastard! My fingers clenched around the railing of the stairs, my vision getting blurred with fury. He had the audacity to humiliate me, to dump food on my face. He didn’t even know me, yet he acted as if he had the right to control me. He had no right! I stormed right inside the pack hall, my entire body shaking
I left the hospital room and returned to my own bedroom. First, I called Uncle Hector and Nyx one after the other, informing them that I was out of danger and shared the details of my punishment. The next day, I had devised a plan to attend all my classes, using them as an excuse to spend at least twelve hours of the day away from Alpha Marcus. And after that, it is going to be what? Like four hours when he asks me to do random shit for him? That was okay. I could tolerate three hours for two weeks. So, happy as a button, I walked to my first class with a spring in my step. And then that happiness went poof in the air the very second I entered the classroom. Alpha Marcus stood before me with his hands in his packets, his hips leaning against the table. And there were whispers echoing in the entire hall by the shell shocked boys and girls who had never even got to see him face to face ever before, let alone in their classroom so closely. Marcus's head turned in my direction the
“Aw… ahh…..” I flinched and then whimpered, trying to push him away. But he grabbed the other side of my throat with his palm, restricting my movement, and licked over the spot with his tongue, soothing the burn. He then bit that spot again. “Goddd…” I whimpered again, my voice shaking terribly, but he rolled his tongue on the skin before pulling back from me. With a gaze filled with pride, he stared at the spot he had bitten with his teeth. His eyes then met mine again, his tongue licking his lips with a starved look in his eyes. I gulped hard, trying to shake off the cloud he had cast over me. It felt almost impossible to regain my composure, but I gathered my resolve and shook my head at him, pushing against his presence. "Back off now. Enough," I whispered, my voice hoarse and trembling. He did step back, but his heated gaze remained locked onto me. Leaning against the edge of the table with his hip, he crossed his arms over his chest. I slid down from the table on my shaky
“This doesn’t feel right. Get out. Come and sit next to me.” He replied blankly. Oh for the love of fucking god! This man and his neverending tantrums! “What is your problem? You want me to sit in the front or you don't want me to sit in the front? Why do you keep changing your mind?!” Ares was staring at me with a shocked gaze. His eyes then slid to Marcus as he muttered, “Don’t you dare attack her.” Marcus’ jaw clenched so tight, that I was scared he was going to reach out, grab me by my collar and drag me to the front. But instead, he turned in his seat to look at me directly, and gritted out, “Sit. In. The. Front. Fucking. Seat!” He growled again. “You are so damn childish.” I gritted under my breath as I got off. “Dare you repeat that?” His threatening growl followed my back. Ignoring it, I got in the front seat next to him and we drove off. I was not comfortable initiating any type of conversation with any of them. With Marcus, because, well, he is Marcus. And with Ares,
He leaned in and kissed me. Lips, tongue, and a lot of him. Everything of him. His taste, his skin, his softness and roughness. Everything deep. It slid into my mouth, caressing the soft skin and licking up the nectar that my tongue brought and taking everything away. They continued their descent, tracing a path down the side of my neck, setting my skin ablaze with desire. A low whisper escaped his lips, his warm breath grazing my ear. “This mark is already fading,” he murmured, his thumb gently caressing the spot on my neck where he had left his mark earlier in the morning. “Ah…” I cried out. A shot of burning sensation went straight to the nub between my legs when he grazed that spot. A mix of pleasure and vulnerability coursed through me at the reminder of what he had done to me in that classroom. “Your neck looks more beautiful with my mark on it.” My breathing grew ragged, my chest rising and falling rapidly as I struggled to catch my breath. The sensations coursing through
He grabbed his phone from the table and approached me, “We caught the person who spread that video of you. Let’s go. It’s a girl, so I can’t leave her in the dungeons until tomorrow for punishment.” I stiffened. “The video... the same one that-“ “Yes, the same one that almost drove you to kill me.” “That wasn’t the reason I tried to kill you though,” I muttered under my breath. “You shouldn’t have insulted me.” Before I could finish my words, he was in my personal space, his intensity palpable. “Sunshine, I can hear you even when you mumble under your breath.” I furrowed my brows and looked up at him. “Good. I wanted you to hear it anyway. I haven’t let that go yet! And why do you keep calling me that?” “What?” “Sunshine,” I emphasised, my frustration evident. “That’s not my name. In case you’ve forgotten, it’s Milli.” He grinned mischievously and leaned in, planting a kiss on my lips. “You look like the brightest thing in the world when you’re naked in my bed. So even when it
I pushed those thoughts aside, "Yes, thank you," *** When I awoke, I was cocooned in warmth. A soft weight nestled on my stomach, and as I stirred, my face brushed against something both plush and solid. "Marcus?!" His eyes blinked open, his hair tousled and his body radiating a disheveled allure. Shirtless, save for his trousers, he had draped one leg over mine, and his hand rested tantalizingly close to the underside of my breast. In an instant, he seized my arm and pulled me close, “Get back to sleep.” his grumbled in a low voice. Oh lord. The morning voice. I wasn’t prepared for this, but the man had the morning, low growl of a god. I stumbled, falling back onto the bed next to him, his strong arms enveloping me in a tight embrace. He nestled his head atop mine, holding me as if protecting a cherished treasure. But I forcefully blinked my eyes and gathered the strength to pull away. I pulled away, pushing against his chest and moving my body back. I snapped at him, m
Uncle Hector and I talked a little while we ate. He told me about sleeping in the side house reserved for him and the other high-ranking warriors. It was similar to the main pack house but more restricted since there were important things to protect. Once everyone was done, I was about to go back to my bedroom, but then I saw Marcus standing by the stairs, his eyes fixed on me. My heart throbbed, and I immediately turned around, heading to the couch. This man seriously needs a break. How can he still be so horny after spending the entire morning having sex with me? I heard his familiar footsteps behind me, and I didn't need to turn around to know it was him. I went ahead and sat on the couch, pretending to watch TV with some other girls and boys who were hanging out there. They were surprised to see me at first, but then they went back to their normal conversation. But within a few seconds, the conversations came to a complete halt. Confused, I turned my head to see what they we
~Milli~The world spun around me in a whirl of chaos."Uncle… please… Wake up!" My voice trembled as I struggled against the grip that was crushing my neck.Panic clawed at my chest as his hold tightened, making it hard to breathe. His eyes blazed with a furious red, like he was trapped in a nightmare he couldn't escape. Those burning eyes felt like they were seeing right through me, as if he saw a stranger in my place.Blackness edged my vision, my strength waning. His grip was a vise, threatening to snap my neck any moment. Just as I teetered on the edge of losing consciousness, Marcus appeared out of nowhere. With a swift move, he wrapped his arms around my uncle's neck and yanked him ba
I wiped the blood from my nose as he picked up the call immediately."Daisy?"The voice on the other end spoke for a few minutes. His face grew paler with each passing second as he ended the call, then immediately rushed to his room."Ares!" I called after him multiple times, but he was already gone without even a glance in my direction.Struggling to my feet, I managed to get up. Soon after, Ares descended the stairs with a bag in his hands and hurriedly left the pack house. His face was ashen, as if he'd seen a ghost.I wasn't sure what was happening or what news he had received, but one thing was crystal clear: Daisy would always be his top priority, eve
His body stilled immediately as if I had hit him. I didn't even see his face when he abruptly detached from me and left the room without giving me another glance.Turning towards my bed, I buried my face in the pillow, tears soaking the fabric as my body shook with sobs.***"Milli, you're mated to Kai?" My uncle's voice echoed in my ears, a mix of surprise and concern evident in his tone. It brought back a sense of nostalgia but he was too far away for me to hug himI mustered a faint smile, attempting to infuse some cheerfulness into my voice. "Yes, Uncle. I didn't want to bother you while you were busy with the investigation. I'm sorry I couldn't let you know earlier."His voice held a note of caution. "Are you doing
In front of me stood five men, accompanied by two large, wild-looking wolves with patches of black fur. Their clothes were tattered, washed out, and full of holes.…Rogues?I swallowed hard, shuffling back on the ground, my instinct urging me to flee from them as soon as I could. The men stared at me as if I were their next meal. The wolves were thin, but four times larger than any wolf I had seen in my life. Their gazes dripped with bloodthirst/The one who had grabbed my hair was the largest among them.My heart raced even faster, but then one of the wolves lunged at me.It tore off my top, leaving me in my bra. "No, back off!" I screamed trying to fight off the wolf as its claws scratched my skin.
I entered the pack hall the following day. Thankfully, Kai hadn't returned to the bedroom the previous night. Despite my fear, I struggled to fall asleep until the early morning hours, constantly on edge, fearing his arrival at any moment. The lack of sleep weighed heavily on me as I made my way to the hall. Upon arriving, I noticed that everyone had already finished breakfast. Silently, I ate my own meal while overhearing hushed conversations and glances directed my way."Hey," a gentle voice caught me off guard from behind. Startled, I looked up and saw Ares standing before me.I stood up, the sudden movement making me feel dizzy. Ares swiftly steadied me, preventing me from collapsing, and helped me back into my seat.Taking a place in the chair next to me, he faced me directly. "Are you feeling better now?""Somewhat," I whispered, my voice barely audible, unable to speak in a loud voice without feeling a throbbing ache in my head.”"You turned out to be Kai's mate," he remarked
~Milli~An unfamiliar sensation surged through my veins, jolting me awake. Gasping for air, I blinked my eyes open to a world of disorientation. My breath came in heavy bursts as a searing pain coursed through my neck, a painful trail that seemed to burst my veins. With an instinctual grip, I clutched onto the shoulders of the man who was biting my neck, pushing him away.My eyes widened as I realized it was Kai."What are you..." My voice trembled, my mind struggling to form coherent words.Relief washed over his face, transforming his features into a happy smile. His hand cupped my face, "You're awake? Oh, thank the gods, you're awake!"
~Marcus~ The fire that surged within me as I watched Ares stroll out of the pack house hand in hand with Milli was blinding. My grip on the vodka bottle tightened as I snatched it off the counter, downing its contents in a single gulp. Just as I moved to follow them, Derek stepped in front of me, blocking my path. "Marcus, this event's far from over. There are still hours ahead. Keep your wits about you." "Step the hell aside," I growled, the sight of him igniting an indescribable rage within me. He had the audacity to kiss Sunshine, even though he damn well knew she belonged to me. I shoved him away and caught a glimpse of Ares and Milli vanishing through the doorway. Clamping my jaw, I yanked my phone out and fired off a message - 'Blacklist: Milli Jane.' I stormed out of the damn house. "You finally witnessed that bitch's true colors?" Kai drawled, leaning against the pillar outside, another bottle of whiskey dangling from his fingers. He moved toward me, blocking my path,
As I stepped out of Derek's car, my mind began to clear and the haze of the drinks dissipated. Nervousness and tension gripped each of my steps as I entered the pack house, which was now abuzz with people dressed in elegant attire, a stark contrast to my own appearance. As soon as I walked in, my gaze met Marcus' intense eyes, fixed right in the center of the hall."Are you planning to stand by the entrance all night?" Derek's voice whispered beside my ear, making me flinch.I quickly moved forward, reaching Marcus. He had been drinking heavily. I could smell it from where I stood. His jaw was tightly clenched, eyes burning through me. The moment I came to stand in front of him, he asked,"You kissed Derek?"
I quickly averted my eyes."What's that?" I pointed. It looked like something out of a fairytale, a princess's grand display with a large stage in the middle. There were young girls and boys standing around, grinning, holding hands.Nyx's lips curled into a mischievous grin."Tell me the truth, not your version," I warned. She rolled her eyes with a dramatic sigh. "Gosh, you're always on to me. How do you know I was going to lie?""You get that evil gleam in your eyes, the one that gives me shivers.”"Fine," she huffed, "It's t
