Daniel’s p.o.v

Ever since Linda showed up in my life, it became a living hell. I felt disgusted with myself for being married to her. I was betraying the one I truly loved. I should be marrying Rose instead of this ugly duckling. I didn't know why my dad did not choose Rose as my bride but her.

The crying face of Rose when she discovered that I was getting married to another woman, was stuck in my mind. My father left me with no choice other than to tie the knot with this girl.

If I disagreed, he would have transferred all the property to my younger brother's name. To be on the safe side, I asked Linda to say no for this wedding but to my disappointment, she did not and now she was in my house in the name of my wife. She merely destroyed my life and that would cost her a lot.

During the wedding when I glared at her, her eyes were shining enthusiastically with an inner light and her smile only multiplied the softness of her gentle nature through every curve of her cheek.

For a second, I felt completely lost in her chocolate brown eyes. I knew her for a long time. Though I barely talked to her, I believed she was a simple girl with a kind heart, but she was just another gold-digging woman. She had an innocent face with a devil mind. A devil in disguise to be more precise.

In spite of that, I hated to admit it but I had somehow grown used to her within these three and a half months. Even though I mistreated her, and never ate the dinner she cooked for me, she never complained. I never heard her backbiting me to my parents. I acted harshly towards her before because I wanted a way to take out my anger. She behaved as she was told and never at once raised her voice against me. That was one of the things that irritated me to the core.

I wanted her to scream at me. Her silence was giving me the name of a monster which I knew I was. But for some reason, I felt like she was not what I was thinking she was, but my mind was saying otherwise.

Every time I looked at her, I recalled that painful and rainy night. It hurt to see her and remember that day. If I was more careful, she would have been alive. The cries of her family still echoed in my ears. Sleepless nights became my friend till then. I wondered if Linda knew about my nightmares. I did not want any sympathy and neither would I ever reveal my secrets to someone I hated. Linda was far from that.

The buzz of my cellphone horn in on my thoughts. A wave of relaxation hit me when the name of Rose appeared on the caller ID. An unknown smile played on my lips. I met her at a charity award and that was when I fell for her. She had everything I wanted in my partner. A model like body and face, a feisty personality and a loyal heart.

Swiping the green button, I picked up the phone.

"Hello."

I was fully engrossed in the conversation. I made the decision to inform Rose about the presence of Linda in the party. But, I heard a curse from the other side and Rose started to throw a fit. Her anger was fully justified though. Sharing their man was never an option for women. And here, she was bearing the scars of my marriage.

"Rose, you are a grown up adult. You should have an idea why I have to do this. That woman left me with no alternative. I'm just bringing her to the party. That's it. She is not a one year old girl. She can manage by herself. Nothing will be cancelled, everything will be the same as we've planned."

Convincing her was not an easy task, yet I tried my best.

"The woman in my heart and mind is you only."

'Was I lying?'

She replied with an I love you and hung up right after saying she would patiently wait for me at the party.

Just as I turned around. I saw Linda standing at the restroom's entrance, wearing an elegant Red dress. Her face was pale and eyes were shining with water.

'Did she hear me? She was not crying was she?'

I should not care but the urge to hug her suddenly cropped inside of me. Controlling myself, I averted my gaze. I would not console someone who took away my happiness. But that did not stop me from admiring her.

She had a perfect barbie figure. Her waist was tapered. A pair of eyebrows looked down on sweeping eyelashes. Her delicate ears framed a button nose. Her light brown hair was long enough to kiss her waist. Her makeup was not that extravagant which was matching with her pale skin. Her natural pink sweet lips seem lilac soft. She was looking so gorgeous and naive.

The thought of her being this stylish and fashionable never came in my mind. Baggy clothes were always worn by her and for that reason her body was never well scanned.

I was completely lost in her beauty for a while. I forgot about everything, even about Rose. Eyes were definitely going to be out on stalks in that soirée. She looked absolutely gorgeous and to be frank, it was a little frustrating.

I found myself moving towards her.

"You are beautiful." I whispered seductively in her ear and her pale, dull face glowed faintly.

That was when my mind swore at me. I did what I should not have done. I comforted her.

Her eyes met mine and shone with happiness.

"I was just stating a fact. Followed by another one, I hate you to the square of infinity."

I would not lose control another time.

Linda's p.o.v"You are beautiful." Those words sent shivers down my spine. His voice was deep and seductive. Yet, the next moment, he stabbed me and stole my happiness. Still, he acknowledged my presence. He found me beautiful. That was enough for my heart to regain its strength. Sounding desperate was not what I wanted but getting a small attention from the person I yearned for was worth it at some point.  "Were you adopted from the mental hospital or what?" Hearing his hoarse voice, my eyes shot open. I realised I was leaning against the car's window and we were still on the way to the social event."Sorry?" I looked at him."I said, were you adopted from the mental hospital?" He repeated himself and this time I heard him right.'Why would I be adopted from a mental hospital?'I kept staring at him for a moment and took out my phone to check if everything was okay with me. To my surprise, there was nothing

Daniel's p.o.vMy guilty conscience was mocking me for leaving Linda alone. The way her eyes were looking at me melted my heart. The way her chest was rising and falling while she was sleeping in the car was a huge distraction for me. Her pink lips were as if inviting me to chew it. She looked fully like a sleeping beauty.Everytime she was around, I felt the clock stop ticking. I had forgotten almost everything for a while when I held her waist and took pictures with her. We were just a real couple. There was no denying that she was looking stunning. She looked so happy then. I should not have left her there alone. It was her first time here and I didn't even know where she was. What was she doing? 'But then, why should I care?' Besides, it was her who wanted to come to the party so she can take her own responsibility and handle herself. But again, she was my wife. She did not seem like someone who would attend parties. She was supposed to be with me right now and yet I was here si

Linda's p.o.v"Don't look at me like that man, I'm asking what's mine, my wife." My eyes widened in horror. Max! Without losing time, I gazed at him. He looked as shocked as me. "Wife?" He cracked up with laughter. "Sorry bro but this girl is mine today. And as far as I know, doesn't a married woman wear a ring to indicate she is already taken?"Realisation hit me when I did not feel a low weight on my finger. My wedding band. I had removed it when I was taking a bath and forgot to put it back. I swallowed hard. This was not going to end well. Max looked at Daniel's hand and continued."Are you cheating on your wife? I can see a ring on yours though." I was standing there nervously like a stupid, playing with my fingers watching my husband and bestfriend arguing. I moved my eyes towards Daniel and what I saw was not something to appreciate. His knuckles turned white and he was giving Max death glare."May I ask who you are to question me?" Daniel was not someone who would back

Linda's p.o.vMy dream ended abruptly and harshly, as I was brought back to reality by the shafts of the light. My eyes shot open and I blinked through my eyelashes indistinctly. I laid on the couch, debating whether or not I should wake up. My muscles felt weak. I let out an exasperated sigh. 'What time was it?' I wanted to take the alarm in my hand but I could not. My whole body was aching and I could feel it burning yet I was dying with a cold. I tried to move but my head felt heavy. I touched my forehead to see if I had gotten a fever. I remembered that last night after I came to the room, I went to freshen up. After that I cried my eyes out for the last time.I had decided not to cry nor fight for Daniel anymore. I still loved him but I did a lot and I tolerated too much. It was high time to give up and start a new beginning. I took a glance at the bed next to me. It was clean and soft. 'Didn't Daniel come to sleep last night?? Obviously why would he?'I made an effort to sit on

Linda's p.o.v Three weeks had already passed and I did not see Daniel. The last time I saw him was when I fainted. Yet, he made sure that I was taking my medicines by sending Amanda to keep an eye on me until he was completely convinced that I was fully cured. It was something strange, but I understood that I was a pawn to him, and I needed to stay safe so that I could play the game. I avoided talking to Mary and Brant also. Whenever they come for a visit, I go downstairs to have breakfast after they have already had theirs. My heart hurts. I thought I had found my mother in Mary, but a daughter would never try to hurt her mother.Brant was someone who would never let me miss my father and here I was playing with their feelings. Every time they would call me downstairs I would make an excuse. Brant barely talks to me whereas Mary still thinks that there was something wrong with me.Beep! The sound of my mobile disturbed me. I took it and the call was from an unknown number. "Hell

The sensitive part of me fell in love with his husky voice. I instantly turned around and his handsome face appeared in front of me. 'When did he come back home?' 'Was that why he sent me messages?' Suddenly, I was on the edge of my seat. 'Was he worried about me?' "Is there anything left to talk?" I questioned him, throwing my handbag on the bed. Showing him my vulnerable side would not bring me any advantage. When I saw he seemed to be in a fog, I continued."I mean you never wanted to talk to me before. Daniel's gaze shifted from Max to my face. If looks could kill then I would have been dead by now. I gulped in fear and avoided his gaze. He was such an unpredictable man. He left like a raging bull in the morning and was now at my father's entrance. 'What was he trying to do?'"You do not have the right to question me. Move." He told Max in an arrogant and authoritative tone. I caught a glimpse of him and his gaze was still fixed on me. • Forsaken By Her Husband   Epilogue

Linda’s p.o.v ‘Our journey of love was full of ups and downs, it will be in the future as well. No marriage is perfect, but I will nevertheless make an effort to appear flawless in your eyes and you will not walk through it alone. If I make mistakes along the way, please remind me, correct me, and love me till I come to my senses. You are the only one who can guide me home. Today, I am asking you to be my date forever. For I will always choose you.’ The tears that I had been holding while reading the letter were finally out on that part. I did not know when Daniel fell so hard for me that I would actually question my love for him. Did his love beat my love for him? Whatever it was, the feeling of receiving a letter from the groom while waiting to be manifested at the altar was one of the best moments on the wedding day. I finally found my heaven on Earth and I needed nothing else. Our love won. It was bliss. I acquired so much during the few days and he was always there for me.

Third person’s p.o.v“What have you done, you freak?”She roared with trembling lips and watery eyes. She witnessed a murder and she could lose her mind. “I should have done that earlier. I loved Lilith but she was not living as per my according. I was not hitting her for pleasure, I was just giving her a correction and how I would sleep with her if she was going to be a mother. I did that because I cared for her. You remember the lake view, it was her favourite place.”“Watching you there made my heart rest. It feels like I was watching her. I even got rid of that girl Serena for you. She tried to harm you.”Linda gasped in horror. He killed Serena. He was a total psychopath and she wanted to vomit. On top of that, he had the audacity to say that he loved Lilith with that filthy mouth of his. She cursed herself badly in her mind for not recognising such a monster. He was a total devil in disguise. He made her do things that Lilith loved to keep her alive. He was sick. “Wear this.

Third person's p.o.v A calmness settled over the cemetery amid the gently swaying branches and the lovely kind of flowers. Linda kneed in front of her parents' grave. She missed them. She handed Morillo all the information that he needed a day before itself and came to seek peace near her parents today. She was going to settle for a new life and without their blessings, it would not be possible. Plus, as bizarre as it might be, she felt tranquillity in that space more than in the house. Daniel's mind was still processing her words so he did not disturb her after getting home. He went through a check-up in a clinic after the incident and shut himself in his room. She was hurting as well. After all, she still loved him but one-sided love would never be enough for a marriage. She went through it once. She had a conversation with Max as well and was relieved to know that he supported her in every decision. She sighed. Maybe she was cursed in love. Taking a glance at her watch, she b

Third person's p.o.vLinda lay down on the fresh green grass near the lake Lucas had shown her the other day. She needed some time alone for herself. Her presence counted for more than an hour. It would be a little quirky to say but she felt a connection with the place even when she first came here. Her mind continuously denied it but her heart did not. The peace of mind that she got was unbelievable. She decided to let her life go with the flow and accept all the positive things that were incoming. She was admiring the infinite sky when her mind sent her a signal to become alert as she heard fallen leaves being crunched as if people were walking on them. She stood up and hid behind one of the big trees and waited for the person to walk in. However, instead of one, she felt like there were more. She removed her shoes and tip-toed secretly to see what it was. She was surprised though. Lucas had told her that it was a secret passage. No one except her and him could experience the bea

Third person’s p.o.vLinda woke up early in the morning and the memories of the day before flashed in her mind. It was a beautiful dream that would come once in a while. Daniel apologised to her for not buying her a cake but she reassured him that she did not want that either. Her day was made special by her special person. What made it even more exceptional was the time at the beach. After they had their dessert, they heard a boy singing and playing guitar for his girlfriend. Linda found it cute and complimented their pair as well as the boy’s idea to impress his girl. Nevertheless, she did not know what took over Daniel. He approached them and exchanged his car for the guitar for one hour. Thereafter, he asked Linda her favourite song and he played the guitar while singing to her. Linda felt blessed. She did not miss her father to such an extent that would damage her emotionally. She did not get the opportunity. Unwillingly, Daniel increased the love and respect she had for him

Yet, as a supportive friend, she would let him do that. After all, he had surrendered himself to her for that day. “You were such a baby.”Linda teased him while walking to the parking lot and Daniel was following her. He was still getting goosebumps. “You don’t need to remind me.”“Baby Daniel.”“Stop.” “Crying baby Daniel.”“What did you say?”At a pace, Daniel galloped in from behind her and came close to her threatening to say that again. Third person’s p.o.vIn the morning when Linda woke up, she received a surprise that she thought was from Daniel. Her favourite pancakes and the petals of lilies were scattered on a small table next to her bed, which elated her. Just when she was about to devour the pancakes, her eyes snapped to the person entering her room. "Good morning." "Good morning, Daniel and it's bad manners to enter someone's room before asking for permission." Linda taunted him and he rolled his eyes. "Thank you for these by the way. They are totally delicious. You have improved a lot." Linda's thankfulness threw off Daniel and he stared at her blankly. "I would love to receive your gratitude but it's not me who prepared this." Daniel took a bite and let out the word yum. On the other hand, disappointment washed over Linda. She thought Daniel cooked her a special cake for her birthday. However, with that feeling, confusion tagged along. If it was not Daniel's doing then who. "My apologies for interr

Terror seized him as Lucas brought the person out of the water. A half-unconscious Linda was in his arms. Blood drained from his face and he stood rooted to the ground."Lend me a hand."
