Damian’s POV:He laughs, his voice taunting and annoying to my ears."You're just in time to witness the beginning of the end," he sneers. My grip on the dagger tightens."It's over," I snarl.Caspian chuckles. "I doubt that, pretty boy.”Caspian growls, his eyes glowing, and attacks, and in one swift movement, I swing the knife at him. The sharp blade slashing with the light of the moon.“Damian,” a faint voice calls, distracting me. “Damian,” the voice comes again, but louder this time. “Damian,” I hear the voice call me. “Dennis,” I whisper, my voice breaking and suddenly the dark room turns into the passageway to my chambers.I glance at the flame, standing in confusion as the figure behind me comes forward, revealing Dennis.“Are you okay?” He asks I look at him and back at my door. Dennis walks closer to me and places his hand on my shoulder.I look down at the dagger in my hand, and fear rushes through my body.“Remember, Hector is coming for you. All of you, Damian. There'
Damian's POV: The servants leave as I finish my bath and wear the clothes laid on the bed. I zip up my pants, feeling refreshed after the warm bath. As I put my shirt over my head, my eyes catch the claw mark on my hand. I stare at it in surprise. It hasn't fully healed.I've never had wounds take this long to heal before. I touch the mark, and it stings."What's going on?" I mutter to myself.Groaning, I realize the pain is a new thing, too. I start feeling dizzy, and my temperature rises, making me feel hot. I wipe the sweat off my forehead with the back of my hand. The heat keeps making me thirsty, and my throat burns. I rush to the table, stumbling as my hand lands on the top of the wooden furniture. I grab the cup of water, my hand shaking wildly.I quickly drink the water in one gulp, feeling the cold liquid calm my parched throat. I rush to the bathtub, my head spinning as I kneel and push my head deep into the cold water for a few seconds. My eyes glow as my wolf senses he
Elsa's POV:Why would anyone give him Wolfsbane? It was deadly to our kind.I hear footsteps coming, and I scream louder. “Someone, help!” The first steps get closer, running into the room. I look up to see Dennis and four men with teary eyes. “Help me,” I beg, my voice low. They do as they are told, quickly lifting him to the castle's physician. “Get the healers. All of them!” I command the maid standing by the door. She dashes like a madman as I fasten my pace, following Dennis. In an instant, we make our way to the infirmary. “Where's the healer?” I ask my voice loud and trembling. The guards walk in with the healer. He quickly moves to Damian and starts to examine him. “My goodness, he's been poisoned,” The healer says, and I nod. “I know. He told me before he collapsed. Please, do something. You need to save him,” I beg. “You'll be greatly rewarded. Nurse my friend to health, please,” I hear Dennis plead and the healer turns to the guard standing close to me. “You!” He
Damian's POVI can feel my heart beating slowly as I hear Elsa’s voice call out to me, but I can't answer her.I lose hold of my body, and I feel the life force drain from me. Elsa keeps calling me, and I feel the pressure on my chest. My eyes open slowly, and I see Elsa's puffy eyes and tear-stained face. She smiles at me, and I return the smile weakly. “Elsa,” I say in a weak voice, my throat dry.“You're awake,” she says softly, her hand caressing my cheek. I feel her hand reach for mine, raising it to her cheek. I feel her skin, soft and warm, against my fingers. Her face turns serious, and she faces the others. “Get every available man and start a hunt,” I demand, my voice firm. “I want to know who did this to Damian.”Dennis nods, his expression grim. “We'll find them, Elsa.”I see the guards scatter quickly, eager to begin the hunt.Dennis remains, looks at me, and softly speaks. “Do you need me to go, Luna?” He asks.“No, please stay,” Elsa replies, looking at him.I smile
Damian's POVThe maid keeps running down the hallway, and I chase her. My heart is racing as I know I can't lose sight of her. She turns swiftly to the corner, and her figure disappears. I quicken my pace. “Damian, wait! You're not healed!” I hear Elsa yell.My senses become blurry, and I keep running, following my instincts. There's no way she's escaping me. I must find her. “Damian!” I hear Elsa's faint voice before I disappear into the dark corner of the alley. My wolf growls, and I keep running, focusing on catching the maid. The effects of the remaining poison, which hadn't left my body, begin to kick in, and my head bangs harder. I groan, holding my head as I fall to the wall. I didn't let the seconds slip by, as I continue to search for her. the healer's warning echoing repeatedly in my head, disturbing my sight. I shake my head, clearing my thoughts for a while before I continue my pursuit. I walk into a scanty and clear open area, but it immediately turns dark as I enter
Elsa's POV:I run after Damian, but he is too fast. “Damian!” I call out to him, but he turns into a corner and disappears.I rush to the spot and can't find him anymore. I look around. Wasn't he here a few seconds ago? Where did he go? What's happening? “Damian!” I yell again, but silence greets me. “No,” I mouth, and I continue to search for him. I run through the passageway, ignoring the looks of the servants and guards. I have to find him; the poison is still in his system, and if he strains longer, he will hurt himself. “Damian, you stubborn rascal,” I say under my breath, still searching for him. My chest heaves as I pant; where could he be? I close my eyes, searching with my senses, but still, nothing comes up. I keep trying, and I'm not ready to give up. My eyes pick up a noise. It's coming from the abandoned tavern. I hear a faint groan and a slash of wind. “Damian!” I whisper and open my eyes.I rush into the abandoned tavern, my heart racing with fear. "Damian!" I y
Elsa's POV:We get to the infirmary, and I watch the color of Damian's face vanish. He looks like he would faint any second. I laugh, watching him gulp as the healer mixes the herbs into a cup and brings it to him to drink. “I got vervain. It's much stronger, and you can tell by the smell what kind of magic it can do,” the healer says. Damian takes one sniff and chokes. “Oh goodness. It smells like hell.” “It sure tastes like hell, too,” the healer responds, and I chuckle. Damian looks at me with pleading eyes but I pretend not to see him. “Go on, son. Drink it all. It'll be all over before you know it,” the healer adds. Damian looks at the cup in his hand and exhales before chunking it all down his throat. He coughs and takes a step back as he finishes the drink. He wipes his lips with his hand and spits in disgust. “Yeah, that was one hell,” Damian says. “There, now you're all better. I'll have to say you're a lucky fellow. Others wouldn't have made it through the night. Y
Caspian POV:My face hurts, and I run my finger through it, touching the delicate skin. I groan as my finger accidentally touches the torn flesh. It is good that I am a werewolf, or I would have to live with the disfiguration forever. I dip the towel in the hot water and breathe out repeatedly before placing the hot content on my face. “Aaah!” I yelp in pain. The water wasn't mixed and had been fresh out of the boiler. Werewolves need pain to heal.I stand up, walk to the mirror, and laugh as my skin begins to heal. The dimly lit study didn't feel so dark anymore. My daughter and the candle's flame synchronized, casting a flickering shadow on the wall. “Is that the best you could?” I hear Hector's voice speak behind me. Instantly, I feel fear and turn to see him glaring at me. “Alpha Hector,” I say, going on my knees. “Please, forgive my ignorance. I didn't know you were here,” I pleaded.“I just got here. Tell me why I am fuming, and my servant is rejoicing after that low wolf h
Melinda's POV I gasped out, and began to pant heavily. I was sweating and my heart was thumping against my ribcage. My memory seemed blank and it felt as if I was floating on thin air. "Melinda?" I heard someone called me, but the voice seemed distant. "Melinda, can you hear me?" The voice called out to me again and shook me. I gasped out again and batted my lashes, getting my blurry view clear. I felt a hand in my cheek and I shivered in fright. "Melinda, wake up. We are safe now," the voice said again. I blinked and my gaze fell on Damien, who was seating beside me. Yes Damien, behind him was the Luna, Dennis was standing beside, and Camille.I remembered everything. I remembered their names and their faces. I was locked in the spiritual realm but I somehow survived. I faced the Marcus and I think I was able to use my dark magic a bit, although, the memory wasn't clear enough. Camille walked closer and helped me seat well. "Are you alright?" The Luna asked, staring at me wi
Melinda's POVDarkness was all that surrounded me. I couldn't see, I couldn't move, I couldn't talk. I was locked in a forever darkness, but I wanted out. I don't know how it happened or what brought me into the empty space, but I knew it was my soul floating in the air.My body was at the edge of giving up and I could feel it. No matter how much I tried to move or tried to look for an escape way, something or rater, someone, kept drawing me back. It was as if there was a force holding me back. Someone was involved and the only way I could get nab is to fight him and bring him down. That way, he won't be able to clock my magic flow. But I couldn't do anything to help myself out of my vegetative state. 'Help!' I kept screaming in my head.It took days, months until it got to a year and I was still locked in. The time in the spiritual realm is faster than the time in the real world. A year could mean a week in the real world. It was forever for me. With each passing day, I kept tr
Caspian's POV We walked into the courtyard with our heads need in shame. We couldn't bring ourselves to looking at the Alpha and the disappointment enveloping his face. "It's about time," he muttered. "Now, where is the Vela Harmento?"I went on my knees immediately and Raider did the same. "I am sorry Alpha, but we lost it," I answered, remembering the battle I had with Damien and I still lost anyway. "What do you mean by you lost it?" He questioned, probably staring daggers at us. "We weren't the only one in search of the vela Harmento. Damien and the other guy, Dennis, were also in search for it. We fought to get it but unfortunately, they won. They had the hell of the lake's monster." I answered even though I lied in some point. They never had the help of anyone. They beat us singlehandedly. Besides, I was the one who got the help but i failed anyway. That damn Marcus deceived me and failed. He almost made Damien kill my body and that would have been hard to come back to it.
Hector's pov"HOW DARE YOU ALL LET HER ESCAPE!" I growled out and the ground shook due to the force I asserted. The loud breaking sound of the newly acquired lion statue by my throne, echoed in the meeting hall. The guards were all on their knees, shivering in fright. They should. They should be scared 'cause they had caused me something important and had awaken the rage in me, ready to burn and consume everything on it path."How dare you let her slip away from your grasps? She is a weakling and you couldn't handle her?" I roared."My…my lord. She… I… I tried to…s-stop her. But she… was… wasn't weak," One of the guards covered in bandage for what I don't care for, shuttered with his head lowered, daring not to look at me. "She wasn't weak? Are you trying to say she fought against the chemical within a day and became strong?" I questioned, with amusement dancing in my voice. They all sounded stupid. The chemical was a strong one and she can't fight it off. Her getting strong sound
Damien's povI couldn't control myself. The way she stared at me and the emotions in her eyes, drew me to kiss her. I wanted to stop, but my emotions was stronger than the little warnings in my head. I kissed every part of her lips and surprisedly, she didn't push me away but kissed me back. I took my hand to her waist and she shuddered at my touch. I deepened the kiss and when we finally pulled away, we were both breathless. I looked at her and noticed the corners of her lips curled up into a warm smile. She wasn't angry or pissed off. "I care about you a lot, Elsa. I adore you. I want to be with you. I what to stay by your side as long as I can. I want to be yours," I confessed, letting out my feelings to her. She stared at me for a few seconds before she drew closer and rested her head on my chest."I adore you, I like you. I don't know the best words to use to tell you how I feel," she confessed and for a minute, it felt as if my heart stopped. I tightened my arm around her
Elsa's POV He shushed me and cover my mouth. He looked behind me, and watched the guards walk closer to the tree after hearing my voice. "Come out now, miss Luna of the crescent," The guard taunted, as he got closer.Suddenly, they heard the footsteps of a guard who had gone with the other group, distracting them momentarily. He rested his hands on his knees, panting heavily. "We've found her," he informed. The head of the guards drew his brows in confusion and looked towards the tree where he heard a female voice. "We captured her already," the informant added. The officer nodded and they all went ahead, going towards the place where they caught me, or rather, someone who looked like me. I let out a deep breath that I held in for long, in relieve of not getting caught. "Are you alright?" Damien asked, scrutinizing me from head to toe. "I should have come earlier. Sorry for wasting time and making you pass through all these."I stared at him for a few seconds, and relieve rushe
Elsa's POV I had no idea if it was night or day, which was a huge setback for me. I had to escape but my plan would only work at night. I took in a deep breath to inhale the substance Camille had given me, which I soaked a piece of material in and used it to cover my nose. No one suspected a thing. They all thought I was trying to cover my nose from the chemical they released again, and few of the guards laughed at me for trying to protect myself. They said covering my nose wouldn't stop me from getting weak. If only they knew…They all thought I was weak, as usual, but I was far from it. I had regained my strength and ready to attack. "Hey, I want to set out for a few minutes. I have been here all through the evening," one of the guards said to the other, who nodded.I watched him leave, while the other let out a deep breath and faced me. He stared at me for a few seconds before he clicked his tongue and shook his head. "You are a Luna. Such a disappointment to see you this weak
Damien's pov "We news to gey back as fast as we can. The days are running and Melinda might lose her life," Dennis reminded, walking ahead of me. Everything he said we're likes whispers, as I didn't pay attention to him. My mind was occupied with one person: Elsa. She's all alone. I had no idea if she was back or still locked up in Hector's clutch or worst still, if he killed her. I tightened my fist at the thought of it and clenched my jaw. I would never forgive myself if something bad happens to her. If only I didn't leave hesitatingly like that, I would have convinced he not to act rashly. She was probably worried and left on her own. I looked at Dennis with a frown plastered on my face. "You should have talked the Luna into not going on this mission," I said, and he stopped walking to face me. "You think I didn't? I did but she's stubborn. I already told you this," he answered, with his voice calm, but that wasn't enough. Elsa was out there in the hands of a dangerous man.
Elsa's POV I carefully tiptoed to the guard standing by the cell I was locked in. He held the key to the cell, tightly in his grip. I got closer and stretched my hand to carefully steal it, but he suddenly moved and faced me. "Nice try, my lady. Your powers won't even help you if you are to use it to get the key," he mocked and turned on the gas, which contained same substance as the powdery substance blew on us. I had no idea what it was, but I hated it. "No, please," I cried and coughed, slowly falling on my knees. Because I had an Alpha bloodline in me, it wasn't enough to kill me or put me to sleep easily. That was the reason why I was conscious even when Camille and the other werewolves fell to the floor. But there was one thing it does to me. It weakens me. Weaken me so much that I can't lift a finger. I fell to the floor and rested my back against the cell, feeling every strength in me slowly drawing out. I was like an empty shell just waiting to be blown away by the wind
