Chapter 5

Sarah opens the door of the cabin, and there is a file in her hand.

Sarah said, “It's time for your meeting, and the clients are waiting for you."

Nicholas was typing something on the laptop. Nicholas asked, “What was the name of the client?"

Sarah said, “ Mr. Benjamin Robertson," her eyes widening. The owner of The Robertson Group means her ex-boss.

Nicholas looks at Sarah with surprise after seeing her condition. Nicholas asked, “Is there any problem, Ms. Lewis?"

Sarah said, “No, sir."

Nicholas said, “Let's go, then."

Nicholas and Sarah enter the meeting room. Robertson looks at Sarah, and Sarah tries to keep herself calm. Nicholas sits down, and Sarah is standing next to him.

Benjamin said, “Mr. Hill, what thought did you give job to this girl? Being the president of such a big company, you should hire hardworking employees, not an arrogant and lazy girl like her."

Nicholas looks at Sarah with surprise.

Sarah's face turns red with anger, but she doesn't want to do anything stupid, especially in front of Nicholas.

Nicholas said, “ I don't understand what you mean. Do you already know my assistant?"

Benjamin said, “This girl used to work for me for a long time, and I know what kind of girl she is. You made a mistake by giving her a job." Nicholas laughs, and Sarah gets angrier.

Sarah said, “Mr. Robertson, are you here for business deals or discussions about my job?

Benjamin said, “Did you see How rude a girl she is!"

Sarah said, “May I make you remember your character, sir? What if I tell your wife about all your affairs?"

Benjamin said, “How dare you, you fallen girl?" He gets up and moves towards Sarah.

Mr. Robertson is the lousy child of a lousy father.

Sarah's patience runs out; she slaps Mr. Robertson, and Nicholas, who till now was smiling silently after seeing, becomes serious.

Nicholas said, “ Sarah! I am not going to spoil my business because of your anger. Mr. Robertson is our client, so you apologize to him." Nicholas said, "Sarah! I am not going to spoil my business because of your anger. Mr. Robertson is our client, so you apologize."

Sarah said, “Didn't you hear what he said about my father?" Nicholas replied, "I don't care. You apologize now. Anyway, what is wrong with this? You are the greedy daughter of a greedy father. That is why you wanted to seduce a boy many times richer than you but failed. What else can you expect from you? You are my employee, and you will do whatever I say; otherwise, the deal is over. So, Ms. Lewis," he says, moving towards her, "You apologize to my client now."

Tears were about to fall from Sarah's eyes, but she controlled herself.

She turns to Mr. Robertson and bows.

Sarah said, “Mr. Robertson, please forgive me for my behavior." Mr. Robertson doesn't say anything, and Sarah comes out of the room.

Nicholas said, “By the way, what did this girl do?"

Benjamin said, “This girl used to come late; I scolded her; then she said that she works somewhere else; that is why she gets late in the morning; so I scolded her and talked about her father; then this girl threw hot coffee on my face; how dare she is...

Nicholas starts laughing. Mr. Robertson looked at him with surprise.

“She did the right thing; you know no one can hear bad things about her father." He said it seriously, and Mr. Robertson panicked.

"You can leave now."

“But what about the deal?"

“Deal cancelled, and he smiled."

“But why?" Nicholas gave him a death glare, and he stood up and left.

She doesn't want to suffer any more humiliation, but she has no option but to be humiliated like this; it is her compulsion, and she has to bear all this for the sake of her mother.

Sarah goes towards the washroom and locks herself. She sits there crying for, who knows, how long? She is strong, but still, this kind of insult is unbearable, especially the insult to her father, who is no longer in this world. It is very unbearable, but she will have to bear it.

Nicholas was trying to sleep for the last 2 hours, but there was no sign of sleep. Why? The answer is that girl and her tears.

Nicholas sits and thinks about Sarah. He is sure that he did not like that girl from the beginning; he did not hate her; he just could not understand what his problem was. But seeing her cry over such a trivial matter made him realize that maybe he did care about her more than he thought. He couldn't bear the thought of her being hurt, especially over something as cruel as insulting her deceased father.

When Sarah confessed to him, he did not understand what to do because he was the son of a rich family in the city, and every day someone or another proposes to him, so he thinks that all the girls are only interested in his money and about Sarah. He also had the same thought.

But times have changed; Sarah is no longer the same as before; she is not a timid girl; she has become fearless; no one has ever talked to Nicholas in a loud voice; nor has anyone ever slapped him except Sarah, and he was surprised. She has the courage to slap Nicholas Hill, and this is what is troubling Nicholas now. Sarah should be afraid of Nicholas, like everyone else. What is it in her that makes her different from everyone else?

Only Sarah was roaming in Nicholas's mind; he had never thought about any girl before today; then why is he losing sleep thinking about that girl? Is it because she is the only one who has dared to stand up to him? Is it because she is the only one who has shown him a different side of himself? Whatever the reason, Nicholas can't shake the image of Sarah from his mind, and he is starting to realize that maybe she is not like everyone else. Maybe she is someone worth getting to know.

Nicholas was in a bad mood due to a lack of sleep at night; he was blaming Sarah for this. After some time, Sarah comes to the cabin.

Sarah said, “Good morning, Mr. Hill. I have come with today's schedule; today you have an important meeting with Bluebird Enterprise.? Nicholas looks at her coldly.

Nicholas asked, “Why did you like me at that time?" His question freezes Sarah; she wants to forget that bad time, and this man always reminds her of the same. Sarah looks at him blankly. Sarah asked , “What? What do you mean?"

Nicholas said, “All my friends were from rich families, so why did you choose me only?"

Sarah understood his meaning and replied, “Your thinking has fallen more than I thought."

Nicholas stood up angrily and said, “What did you say?"

Sarah said, “Whatever you heard, Mr. Hill, I did not think that your thinking would be so small. People like me, when they like someone, they love that person, not that person's status and money, but people like you, you like or dislike based on their status and money.

Sarah turns to leave, but turns again to Nicholas.

Sarah said, “ I liked you, but now if I hate anyone in the world, it is you and your family, and you will not be able to change me." Sarah leaves from there; Nicholas gets very angry, but he could not say anything.
