Chapter 6

Office time is over and Sarah is preparing to leave, then Nicholas opens her cabin door and

 “Where are you leaving?

 “Home, of course."Sarah replied.

“Who told you to leave?"

“What do you mean by who told me? Its 6 p.m. And its closing time."

“But I didn’t pay you as an employee; did you forget our deal?"

Sarah stop after remembering their deal. Sarah looked at him, “What do I have to do, sir?

Nicholas said, “ I invite my friends to my home for a drink, and unfortunately, my servants are on leave, so there is no one there to serve them. So, will you?

“ I understand, sir." She said with a cold face and a Nicholas smile that he loved to humiliate her.

“Come on." With that, he leaves, and she follows him.

She was shocked to find a black Porsche parked in the lot. she glance at Nicholas.

Sarah  asked, “Is this the vehicle you own?"

Nicholas said, “of course, it's my favorite vehicle, but I understand that you're shocked that even with a lifetime of employment, you still can't afford this car. Please accept my gratitude for allowing you to ride in such a luxurious vehicle." Sarah finds his remarks offensive, yet she doesn't lose her composure.

After reaching his mansion,

They entered inside, and she saw an elderly couple leaving.

“Mom-dad, where are you guys going?"

Sarah looks at Mr. Hill with disgust. They also notice her.

Olivia said, “um, it's the Mr. PHillips anniversary party, so we are going there. Will you join us?"

“No, mom. I have some other plans." Mr. Hill, look at Sarah.

James asked, “son, you didn’t bring any girls home; who is she?"

“She is my assistant dad, and she is here because she will serve my friends today." They look at Sarah with astonishment, and she lowers her head.

Olivia smiled, “enjoy, son. We are getting late.

Nicholas smiles and kisses his mom's forehead, and the couple leaves. Nicholas shows Sarah to his little bar and goes to his room.

She was standing there and didn’t understand what she had to do. After a while, a maid who was in her 40s came and

A Maid asked her, "what are you doing here, honey?"

 “I’m Sarah Lewis. I am Mr. Nicholas Hill’s assistant." she replied with smile.

"Oh, dear, it’s nice to meet you. I am the head maid of this mansion, but what are you doing here in the bar?"

“He said some friends of his will come for a drink party, and all his servants are on leave, so I have to serve them."|

"Um, leave? But all the servants are here," she said in a low voice. Now that she understands this is another way for Nicholas to humiliate her, she gets angry, and that maid feels pity for her.

After some time, all of Nicholas's friends, who were once Sarah's classmates, come there.

Sarah knew all of them, and now she was feeling more insulted because they all knew about her past.

Adam said, “ oh, are you Sarah, right?" She nodded, and he smiled.

“It's been a long time to see you; you remember me, right?"

"Yes" After that, other friends also came.

John said, “ hey Sarah, what a surprise! What are you doing here?" Sarah didn’t say anything.

“She is my employee." Nicholas said, and all his friends are surprised. Andrew looks at her, and she lowers her head.

Nicholas looked at Sarah and, “ what are you doing here? start your work, Do I need to explain what you are here for?

“I’m sorry, sir." With that, she started serving them drinks.

They are all busy talking, and Sarah just wants to end this as soon as possible. This insult is unbearable. She is so tired of this now, but their party isn’t over yet. Then Nicholas calls her, and she goes toward him with another bottle.

He orders her to pour all the empty glasses. Andrew feels bad for her; she looks so tired, and they are all confused about why, after so much insult, she is still working for him.

Andrew said, “ you should give Sarah a break; she looks tired."

“Why are you so worried about her? It's her job, and I pay her for it. And anyway, she's just serving us drinks; I didn't ask her to strip dance."

His words were enough to break Sarah's heart and her patience. She stops and looks at Nicholas. How can a person be so heartless? He is continuously insulting and humiliating her in front of everyone. Sarah goes towards Nicholas.

“I have never seen a worst person like you. Of course, you must be like this because your father is also like this."

Nicholas was about to slap her when Andrew grabbed his hand. Sarah leaves from there.

“You… why did you stop me?" He shouted

Andrew said, “What are you doing, huh? Enough, you ruined her. Now stop Nicholas; she is already suffering because of you, and now you again start breaking her."

“what are you saying? I didn’t do anything with her; she deserves this, bloody gold digger."

“Enough! Don’t say anything about anyone without knowing her. She is way better than you and your family."

Nicholas angrily look at him, “You are insulting my family; you know what it will cause you."

“I don’t care, but I won’t allow you to ruin her again. Do you have any idea what she was going through because of you?"

Nicholas confused, “What nonsense?"

Andrew said, “After you reject her, everyone starts making fun of her, not only her but her family too, just because they are poor and you are from a rich family." Nicholas is staring at Andrew.

“What are you saying?"

“Your father... Ask him what he did to her father? Of course you don’t know anything because you were not here. Her father was working under your father, and when he came to know about Sarah and you, he insulted her father in front of the whole company, and everyone started making fun of him. One day, he took off his own life just because of your father, and this caused her mom to go into a coma, and they became orphans. Her brother was struggling for their lives financially; they were broke. She suffered so much. Now stop this and leave her alone." he shouted.

Nicholas is surprised he doesn’t know anything about this; he can’t imagine just because if his simple rejection can destroy someone’s life, that girl is already suffering, and he is also making her suffer more now that he feels guilty. And he was also angry with his father.

Sarah comes back home, and she is so weak and pale due to her stress, as well as Matthew  and her small fight. Whenever she comes back home, she remembers and feels more heartbroken.

She entered the house and saw Matthew .

She is about to go to her room.

“Why are you so late? And what are you doing? Did you get a job?" Matthew asked. His question stops her step; she is already pissed off, and he reminds her of that humiliation again.

“What difference does it make to what I am doing? Our mother is being treated; this was important for you, wasn't it?" Matthew feels guilty and looks at his sister; without saying more, left for her room.

Sarah was sitting in the corner of her bed, and she broke down. She didn’t want to go back again and was insulted by that man who didn’t know how to respect others. Seeing no option, she called her one of the old friends with whom she hadn’t talked for so long, Julia.

Julia is now an famous model. She is busy with her life, but she still remembers all her friends, and she was the best friend of Sarah. She calls her, and in one ring, she picks up her call.

“Oh my god, do you still remember me?"

“Julia, I know this is weird; I didn’t call you in these years, but now I really need you."

“Anything for you, darling; you forgot me, but I didn’t. I still consider you my best friend. I really miss you, you know."

“I’m sorry. Julia"

“Ok, leave it. Tell me, what do you want?"

“I need some money."

“Baby, don’t hesitate to ask me anything, ok? I’m always there for you. Just tell me how much i’ll send you." Sarah started crying after hearing her.

“Thank you so much."
