Chapter 30

They hugged, Nicholas felt a sense of determination wash over him. He would get through this, for himself and for his mother. He would find a way to heal, to move forward, no matter how hard it seemed.

Nicholas's mind seethed with anger and hatred as he thought about Griffin. He knew that Griffin was behind everything—the stolen project, the attack, his father's death in the car accident that Griffin's man had caused, and now Sarah's disappearance. Griffin was his rival, but Nicholas had never thought he was capable of such evil.

The memory of his father's death flooded his mind, the pain and grief still raw. He remembered the police telling him that the other driver had been drunk, but Nicholas knew the truth. Griffin's man had been behind the wheel, and it had been no accident.

Nicholas's hands clenched into fists as he imagined Griffin's smug face, his condescending smile. He wanted to wipe that smile off his face to make him beg for mercy.
