Chapter 34

He turned to face his pursuers, his back against the cliff's edge. The figure from the car stepped forward, its features still shrouded in shadow.

But as the moonlight caught its face, Nicholas's eyes widened in shock. He knew that face, those piercing blue eyes, that sneering smile.

"Griffin Moratti," Nicholas spat, his voice venomous.

Griffin, his rival and biggest enemy, took a step closer, his eyes glinting with triumph. "Nicholas," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "You've been a hard man to find."

Nicholas's heart raced as he realized he was trapped. He could try to climb down the cliff, but it was a perilous route, and he might not make it. The ocean below seemed to stretch out like an abyss, waiting to swallow him whole.

Griffin took another step closer, his eyes locked on Nicholas. "You've been a thorn in my side for far too long," he said. "But now it's over. You're going down, Nicholas."
