Hyacinth
I felt like my stomach was in tight knots. As the gigantic door from the church opened, the bell rang… a wedding… The dress was tight… but it was perfectly fit. I hesitated to step forward, but the wedding planner gestured for me to go on. I started walking slowly, and in the middle was my father.
The bastard father that sold me off to save the company. It wasn’t me who was supposed to marry but Rosie. I heard that it was an old man that I was marrying.
Rosie, my half-sister whom my father cherished so much, ran off. I was dragged by my father’s men to be in this wedding. Here, thinking that I was marrying an old guy… but to my surprise, someone I hadn’t seen in a while was standing in a white suit. I had a glimpse of my father gritting his teeth in a smile.
“Don’t embarrass me, Hyacinth.”
My lips pressed, and the pain of being an embarrassment to my father was still there although I should be numb from it.
“Marrying your former step-brother isn’t that bad. You were closed back then.” My bastard father, Samson Dawson patted my hand. “Marry him, do whatever he wants. It’ll be you who will save the company.” He pulled away and went to the other side as Raven approached me. I stopped walking, momentarily mesmerized by his smile. He was charming as ever.
My heart shouldn’t fall again. The pain of being betrayed was there. My step-brother… I’m marrying him. I sniffled as I walked directly to my seat, not taking his hand. I don’t care if my father scolds me. I don’t care now. I am used to him beating me with his crane or slapping me… for every single mistake that I never made.
The only mistake was that I had lived. I should’ve taken my life. My miserable useless life.
A hand reached my hand under the veil. I looked away as the pastor started with his words.
“Hyacinth,” His voice, was deep sultry. I looked up at those green eyes… mixed with hazel. His smile was charming but I could never fall for that again. I looked away but I felt his eyes on me.
I said the words… the written vows. I want it to end badly and just put on the ring. He then opened my veil and the pastor announced as wife and man… but whatever bullshit this is. I will never fall for him.
He reached my chin as she turned my head and his lips landed at the side of mine.
“Hyacinth, it’s your fault that you didn’t escape with me.” He whispered. My eyes widened as I looked at him. He grinned and kissed my lips. I pressed my lips hard so he wouldn’t be able to kiss me passionately in front of everyone and people that I didn’t know.
My best friend isn’t even in the wedding. I don’t know who was my bride’s maid.
“You have to smile at least. This is our first wedding.” Raven’s hand was tightened around my waist as he pulled me closer. I deliberately nudged him hard and he groaned a little but it turned out to be a low sexy groan. Fucking annoying.
After a few photos, we entered the car… we didn’t speak since he was busy on his phone. I rolled my eyes and sighed many times. Alright, I get it. He was dashing… with jet-black hair. He is tall… he has a light complexion, he has a Grecian nose which I always admired… but it wouldn’t change the fact that he… My former step-brother was an asshole. He was into Rosie… not me. He used me… he probably told Rosie about what we did.
Just thinking about it made me sick.
In the reception, it was more like a business opportunity for others. Raven was a star of the night. I even changed into a party dress. Like a wedding mini gown.
I sat there, staring at the food… but I could never stomach eating. I haven’t eaten anything in a day. Samuel told me not to eat until the wedding was over. I sipped on the water. I feel dizzy. I stood as I slowly headed to the bathroom. The maid of honor that I didn’t know asked me. She led me to the powder room and I locked it from the inside. I reached the sink and threw it out but there was nothing.
My stomach was in tight knots. My hands are cold. I hold on to the sink tightly and gather myself. I can’t faint here. I washed my hands and dried them. As soon as I headed out, a tight hand grabbed my arm. I nearly got out of balance when my ankle twisted. I looked up at my father.
“I told you not to embarrass me!” He hissed. “What were you doing just sitting I didn’t like the way you act in the church.
His hand… I can feel it marking on my skin down to my bones.
“Father,” A voice called as Samson looked at Raven who was all smiley. Father let me go as Raven approached him and lowered his face to Samuel’s ear. I don’t know what he said but he left, annoyed.
“Hey,” Raven reached her hand as he kissed the red mark on my left forearm. I pushed him. His kiss disgusted me. He looked hurt but he grinned. He’s probably faking all of it. “Oh, baby…” He pulled her waist. My face hit his chest. No matter what type of heels I wear, I will still look like a child to him since I am petite.
To my surprise, he reached my chin and kissed my lips.
“I’m sorry, I neglected you.” His voice was deep… sexy. I shook off the idea as I pushed him. “Don’t be like that. You are my wife now.” He pulled my waist closer to him. Body to body. “I will make sure to fuck you… wait… that turned out wrong. I mean, that I will always make love to my wife…” He exhaled as I felt his nose on my head. “Fuck you… like before. You scream out my name while you orgasm.” He grinned. I pushed him hard now. He’s like a wall that I had stepped back and nearly got out of balance.
He caught me and pinned me on the wall. Our eyes meet again and this time. It was longer. He still has those beautiful eyes.
I remember it used to tell me beautiful things. Those eyes were genuine… toward me. But his actions… weren’t. Remembering our past… I had loved him. I hope that I never loved him. If I fall again, I don’t know if I could live again… what if Rosie comes back and claims him? I was just a replacement… a second choice anyway.
HyacinthWe left the reception. A man whom I didn’t know was driving a limousine to wherever he was taking us. Raven was resting on the reclined chair while I looked vulnerable in the other corner, watching the lights outside. I hugged myself, feeling cold. A phone rang and Raven pulled it out from his pocket and answered it. “Yes?” Raven sat up and reached his forehead. “Damn it. I’ll be there tomorrow. Please handle it.” He hung up. I quickly looked away as he chuckled and sat behind me. He snaked his arms around mine and shoved his face to my neck. “I'm Sorry that I didn’t pay attention to you. I was busy.” I ignore him. I need to. He will get tired and leave me be. “You haven’t eaten anything tonight, so a dinner in our house will be perfect.” “I’m not hungry.” “You are not. Stop pretending, Hyacinth. Your father just starved you. I just saved you from your family.” “What?” I creased my brows and turned to him. “Save me?” I pushed him. My blood just went up straight to my hea
“Hya,” He lowered his head at me. I don’t want to say a single thing. I realized that the way he lowered himself for me made me still feel small. He was bulky. Darcy said that he’s eighteen but from his height. He could be mistaken as twenty-five. “Hey, why are you quiet?” I stared at those eyes… from the post light, I could tell that they must be blue or green. I looked down at the dessert plate in my hand as he pulled out something from his pocket. He lifted a flipped keypad phone. “Here,” I held out my hand as he placed it there. “Call me if you are in trouble.” “What will I do with this? This is outdated.” “It is.” He grinned. I opened it and it had a hyacinth flower as wallpaper. “See? Hyacinth is my favorite flower. You’ll be my favorite girl now.” I frowned at him. Favorite girl? What am I? A toy?“You are weird.” I checked it and it has contact numbers. “My mom’s number is there. Also, my new number on my new phone is there as well.” “But why are you keeping this?” I
*** Raven *** We were young and horny. I remembered well that those times of protecting her as her brother became my duty. Now as a husband, I will make sure that she has everything she wants, needs, and even the things she doesn’t want. I will provide it. I will spoil her rotten. The millions that I inherited from my deceased father after working my ass off to build my own business from scratch was worth it. I wasn’t that rich when I created my own company. I had my friend’s support after my father died. I received all of his wealth and a few for my mother and nothing for the mistress that baby-trapped him.Hyacinth’s asshole father just sold her quickly to me, protecting the golden daughter. I scoffed at the thought of marrying that liar. Hyacinth grows well and beautiful. She looked healthy, probably after she moved out from her father’s house. I loved the way she looked in the negligee a while ago. She was now sleeping peacefully after a lot of orgasms that I gave. I noticed tha
***Hyacinth***I felt like a doll being dressed up by Irene and the driver drove me to wherever appointment I had. Irene said that there’s a personal shopper that I am meeting. I never shop luxuriously for myself. And I remember that Rosie doesn’t have a personal shopper herself. She likes doing it all by herself. There were two personal shoppers. The first thing they did was a color test on my skin. They placed different types of cloth under my neck and they decided on what kind of dresses I should wear. But what shocked me was meeting a known Dermatologist across the country. She’s not just a dermatologist but a nutritionist as well. It’s hard to secure a schedule with her and Rosie tried hard to get it. But it seems that I just received a free pass. “Mrs. Reeves,” She shook my hand as I gaped at her stunning features. “I’m Doctor Madison.” She had beautiful, flawless glowy skin. “Pleasure to meet you, Doctor Madison. Please call me Hyacinth.” I said softly as Doctor Madison grin
** Hyacinth ** I stood there for what seemed forever. My eyes focus on him. I don’t know why I am still hurt. Why did he tell me to meet him at the club and meet his friends? Why was Rosie there? Why was he letting her touch him? I shouldn’t feel jealous. I shouldn’t get angry, but my heart is about to burst.Does he still love her? I don’t understand now. I felt trapped in this marriage. I was finally back from wondering when Raven stood. His face was serious and he pushed Rosie. He approached me and reached my hand but I gently pushed it. “Hyacinth.” His voice was deep. “Let's talk later. Your sister… you can tell her to leave.” I furrowed at him. He’s talking nonsense again. “Who am I to tell her that?” I chewed my lower lip as I tried hard not to cry. No. I shouldn’t cry. I am over him. “Wife,” He pulled my waist closer but I looked away. He reached my chin and lifted it closer to his serious face. “You own the club now. I told you, my friends.” What the hell? Own the club?
***Hyacinth***“Raven, did you get rid of her?” David asked which caught my attention. I looked around and didn’t see Rosie anywhere. But as soon as Raven sat down, he already smelled like her perfume which I hated. His hand was on my thigh. I pushed it away, feeling uneasy. I was about to relax when I felt his lips move to my earlobe. “Hyacinth. I just got rid of your sister… so don’t ever stop me from touching you.” He whispered. If he only knew that my stomach was near my throat. I felt sick to the stomach. Raven was showing me that he and Rosie…“Your sister is beautiful,” David said as I looked up at him. “Is she the heiress of Dawson?” Just as I expected, everyone is allured by her. I wouldn’t be surprised that one day, they will turn their backs on me or they will start talking about me when I have my back at them. I smiled at David’s comment, plastering all of my emotions and my pain. I shouldn’t get hurt whenever Raven speaks to my sister. But I couldn’t help it. After a
*** Hyacinth***I waited for a few seconds before he answered. “Of course,” He answered casually, took out a cigarette, and searched for a lighter. “You need to get out if you smoke near me,” I said coldly and turned my head to the window again. I heard his chuckle and he sighed after. “I’m sorry,” I felt his hand on my hair, gently stroking it with his fingers. “I won’t smoke again.” “I don’t care, Raven,” I said coldly. “Rosie will be working in the company, that’s why she’s back.” He said out of nowhere.I don’t know what to say. I knew that. She’s the Queen in that company anyway. “Hyacinth,” His voice was deep as I heard him exhaling. “Why won’t you work in the company? I’ll give you a higher position and any position you want.” “Higher position?” I scoffed. “Higher position had a lot of work to do.” “Most higher positions mostly pass work to lower positions.” he chuckled. “Rosie already named a position for herself.” I turned my head to see his smirk. “What is it?” “C
***** Hyacinth *****I sniffled and wiped my tears. “I have the original copy of the documents you need.” He handed the documents. “How did you get my email?” “Through your step-mom. Miss Darcy.” I froze as I stared at his teal eyes. He doesn’t seem to be lying. And I wasn’t staring at his gorgeous eyes because he’s good-looking, but the fact that he knows Darcy as my stepmother and now my mother-in-law, Raven’s mother. “She did?” “Yes,” He nodded. “We happened to visit your family residence and Miss Darcy happened to pass by your residence and approach us. Have you spoken to her?” I shook my head as I sniffled. She wasn’t even at the wedding. “Here’s my calling card. Call me if you need something. I am willing to help you.” “You looked young to take care of this case.” I was curious. If it was years ago, I was an infant… How is he handling my grandmother and mother’s assets?“Actually, my father was your mother’s lawyer. He was partially retired.” He explained shortly with t
*** Hyacinth ***The soft glow of the moonlight filtered through the curtains, casting a serene ambiance in our bedroom. Raven’s arms were wrapped around me, his warmth seeping into my skin as we lay there, basking in the afterglow of our love. His fingers traced lazy patterns on my arm, and I couldn’t help but smile, feeling utterly cherished. Raven made me feel like the most important person in the world, like nothing else mattered when we were together. His love was my sanctuary, a place where I could be completely myself, vulnerable and unguarded. As we made our way downstairs, his hand never left my side, his possessive and tender touch. I loved how he always seemed to need to be close to me as if even the slightest distance was too much. His PJ pants hung low on his hips, and I couldn’t help but admire the way his muscles moved with every step. Raven was effortlessly handsome, his dark hair tousled, his eyes always holding a hint of mischief. But it wasn’t just his looks that ca
*** Raven ***Janice’s unease was palpable, a dark cloud hovering over her usual sharp demeanor. She stood in the corner, her fingers gripping the wine glass like it was the only thing keeping her grounded. My eyes narrowed as I tried to piece together what had shaken her so deeply. The flowers—those damned flowers—were a piece of the puzzle, a clue to the stalker who had been lurking in the shadows. But before I could dig deeper, the door opened, and Anthony and Maggie walked in.Hyacinth greeted them with her usual warmth, but my stomach churned. Their arrival felt... calculated. My plan was unraveling, and I didn’t like it.The evening pressed on, the room filling with laughter and the clinking of glasses. My mother and Hyacinth had outdone themselves with finger snacks and drinks, creating an atmosphere that felt almost too perfect. Eino, ever the social butterfly, was already deep in conversation with my friends, his familiarity with Anthony raising my suspicions. Venla, graceful
*** Darcy *** As I stood there, holding the bouquet of Hyacinths, my heart sank. The flowers were beautiful, but they carried a weight that made my stomach churn. The note inside the envelope was a stark reminder of the darkness lurking around Hyacinth and Raven. My hands trembled slightly as I unfolded the paper, and the words written there sent a chill down my spine. The sheer malice in the message was overwhelming. *How could someone be so twisted?* I thought, my mind racing. My protective instincts flared—Hyacinth was like a daughter to me, and Raven, though stubborn and reckless, was my son. I couldn’t let anything happen to them.Janice’s voice pulled me out of my thoughts. “Auntie? What’s so horrifying?” Her sharp eyes caught the tension in my expression. I tried to brush it off, to shield her from the ugliness of the situation, but Janice was relentless. She was a prosecutor, after all, trained to see through lies and half-truths. When she took the note from me, I felt a mix
*** Patricia ***The air was thick with unspoken tension as we moved through the mall, a strange undercurrent weaving through our little group. I couldn’t help but notice the subtle shifts in body language, the way Raven’s grip on Hyacinth’s waist tightened whenever Eino leaned in too close, his Finnish words flowing smoothly, almost too familiarly. Bless her heart, Hyacinth seemed oblivious—or maybe she wasn’t. Sometimes, I wondered if she was just playing the part, her face a mask of innocence while her mind worked in ways I couldn’t quite decipher. She was always hard to read, like a book written in a language I only half-understood.Raven, on the other hand, was an open book. His possessiveness was almost comical, his arm a constant anchor around Hyacinth, as if he feared she might float away if he let go. And then there was Venla, her eyes lingering on Raven a little too long, her laughter a little too bright. It was like watching a soap opera unfold in real-time, and I couldn’t
*** Hyacinth ***I stood there, torn between wanting to invite Eino and the hesitation that kept me from taking that step. It wasn’t that I didn’t want him there—I owed him. He had been kind to us months ago during the typhoon when everything was coming undone. But it wasn’t easy, either. Even though the mansion was technically under my name, I still felt like it wasn’t just mine. It was ours. Raven and mine. And Raven, my husband and provider, was the one who truly made it feel like home. I needed his approval, but I didn’t want to seem too eager.Raven’s voice broke my thoughts, warm and low. "Big purchase, huh," he said, his arms wrapping around my waist, pulling me closer. His lips grazed my earlobe as he whispered, “How about some sexy lingerie?”I froze, feeling his words tickle my skin, but then the heat of embarrassment rushed through me. I quickly covered his mouth, my eyes darting toward Patricia, who was standing behind us. I could feel her cringing, probably disgusted by h
*** Raven ***Eino’s eyes lit up upon seeing me. His face glows with that charming smile that he always flashes on my wife. I smiled at him formally and approached him while Seth followed my wife and Patricia into the store.“Eino, you are here… in the Philippines.”“Yes,” He grinned. “Oh, it’s amazing here during Christmas, just what Hyacinth said. It’s not cold. I mean, for us Finns, it’s practically warm!” He laughed. “I was telling Hyacinth that we have this cozy little condo in the city. It’s perfect for the holidays. But guess, what? My girlfriend, she’s been curious about what Christmas feels like in the Philippines. Can you imagine? No snow, just sunshine,” He looked at his girlfriend as they chorus on the first word. “Warm weather! I think he wants to experience something completely different. But here it’s magical. "I’m glad that you like it here." Eino’s voice was warm, but I couldn't help but wonder if it was genuine. I stole a glance at his girlfriend, trying to place her
*** Hyacinth *** I can’t shake the feeling that something’s off, like the air around me is thick with uncertainty. My eyes keep flicking back to the screen of the phone, where the memory of those photos lingers, elusive. I swear I saw them, a quick flash of images sent by someone I didn’t recognize—someone who clearly wanted me to see them, only for them to vanish in a heartbeat, as if erased by some invisible hand. But why? Why delete them right away? My heart’s racing a little now, and I find myself scrolling aimlessly, hoping for some explanation that never seems to come. Then there’s him—my husband. He’s lying next to me, so still, his breathing slow and deep like he’s in a deep sleep, unaware of the mess of thoughts swirling around in my head. It’s almost comforting in a way, that quiet rhythm of his breath, but it also feels distant, like there’s a wall between us I can’t quite break through. He mentioned giving me a new phone, with an electronic sim card. He seemed… calm about
*** Cal ***I stared at her face for a long time and kept my distance. She was too drunk this time and I took her to her room but she held me down, and ripped my clothes… we kissed but then she fell asleep quickly on my chest. She should be washing up and putting her skincare on but then, she slept like a baby, so I wiped her face and removed her makeup. She looked like an angel without any makeup on.“Oh geez.” I pulled on my pajamas and winced when I accidentally touched my hard manhood. This is Kelly’s curse to me. I get hard easily.“Hmm, Cal?” She mumbled.“Kel,” I moved closer to her. “Do you want me between your legs?”“Hmm, nope. Food. I want food.”I reach for the phone and call the kitchen. Then, I realized that it was only Irene who was in the kitchen and I was about to hang up but Irene spoke.“Hello?”“Uhh, Irene~~about breakfast.”“Yes, I will leave it by the door.” She said.“Thank you.” She hung up like she knew what to do.“Water.”“Alright,”I jumped off of bed, even
*** Hyacinth *** It seems that my husband loves Patricia’s gift. He then decided to leave shortly just before it’s his turn to hand out the gifts. He distributed the boxes and gave Patricia a few more boxes and wasn’t wrapped well. “Wait, what are these?” She asked and he put more. I chuckled as Patricia counted all of the gifts, small and big. “My gifts for you.” “This is an exaggeration.” She squinted her eyes at him. “Twenty gifts?” I laughed. “What? That’s only too little.” He then took his name from Zian’s hands as he handed the gifts. What I didn’t expect is there’s more gifts for me. Like five more or six? I was puzzled. Then, I checked the years. I think it was his gifts for the past years that we are not together. “This is indeed an exaggeration.” I agreed with my best friend but I couldn’t help but to be so happy that I received so many gifts today. On every Christmas. I usually don’t get gifts. I mean, I don’t get anything at all. Except when Darcy and Raven came int
