“Hya,” He lowered his head at me. I don’t want to say a single thing. I realized that the way he lowered himself for me made me still feel small. He was bulky. Darcy said that he’s eighteen but from his height. He could be mistaken as twenty-five. “Hey, why are you quiet?”

I stared at those eyes… from the post light, I could tell that they must be blue or green. I looked down at the dessert plate in my hand as he pulled out something from his pocket. He lifted a flipped keypad phone.

“Here,”

I held out my hand as he placed it there.

“Call me if you are in trouble.”

“What will I do with this? This is outdated.”

“It is.” He grinned. I opened it and it had a hyacinth flower as wallpaper.

“See? Hyacinth is my favorite flower. You’ll be my favorite girl now.”

I frowned at him. Favorite girl? What am I? A toy?

“You are weird.” I checked it and it has contact numbers.

“My mom’s number is there. Also, my new number on my new phone is there as well.”

“But why are you keeping this?” I couldn’t help but ask. “This is old.” It isn’t just old. It is ancient.

“It’s an old and original brand of Nokia. You can take photos. Also, the phone mostly can’t be detected.”

“I have my own phone.”

“What if your phone got stolen?”

I thought about it for a while. I can hide it in the pocket of my skirt or under the shorts of my skirt.

“And the charger?”

“In my room.” He winked. Then, he went to the bench signed me, and patted the spot next to him. I casually sat down with a big gap from him.

I turned to him and placed the sauce plate on the bench between us.

“Why do you have an ear stud?” I asked out of nowhere as he grinned. Somehow, that handsomeness with perfect white teeth… made my heart just beat louder.

“I look handsome in it.” He answered casually. I couldn’t help but smile… This person will be my favorite one. He’s the first one to approach me. My step-brother.

*********

Reminiscing about our first meeting. I couldn’t help but smile at it bitterly. I was escorted to the room with a double door as Raven opened it.

“Tada!” He said upon opening the bedroom full of hyacinth flowers everywhere. How did he pull this off at the last minute? Rosie loves Roses. But who cares? Hyacinth has been his favorite flower until now. I never thought of it as my favorite… because it’s my name. But then, Raven seemed to be serious about the flower until now.

“Let’s eat by the balcony.” He pulled my hand and even lit up the candles. Shortly, two maids came with our dinner. “I know you don’t drink wine, but at least try this. We don’t even have a memory of cutting our cake. It was expensive and big. They already distributed it before we could cut it.”

I was starving. I started eating without waiting for him and I don’t care about the wine. He was busy cutting his steak andmy dizziness from a while ago just faded. To my surprise, he placed a few more slices on my plate as I stared at him. He smiled at me charmingly.

I ignored him and continued eating.

“Do you want more?” He asked.

“No.” I finished off what was on my plate as I stood and left him.

“Babe, wait for me.” He stood and finished off his steak as he followed me. I opened three doors and there to find the bathroom with a jacuzzi and a big shower room. I entered and slammed the door in front of his face.

I removed the shoes and threw them somewhere. The fact that this wasn’t supposed to be for me made me infuriated. Rosie was supposed to be his bride but she ran off.

“Hyacinth, open the door. Come one.”

“Fuck off, Raven!” She shouted. “I don’t want to sleep with you.” I stared at my reflection in the mirror as I undressed the mini cocktail dress that fit me perfectly. I hung it just above the laundry basket and admired how adorable it was. The gown from a while ago was more stunning. Rosie will surely have tantrums after missing all of these.

I froze momentarily as I saw myself in the mirror full of light marks and imperfections. This is my own insecurity. I bet Raven and Rosie made fun of it while they were fucking behind my back. I went to the shower room ignoring that the jacuzzi was set up for this honeymoon.

After a long bath, I went out to find the room empty. I was half relieved. I went to the closet which was full of my clothes and my luggage was empty since I mostly have worn-out clothes. I noticed the sleepwear. I don’t like the negligees as they were from the latest Victoria's Secret. I searched for my old clothes as there was nothing for me to wear but that negligee.

I sighed and put it on and put the robe on securely.

I dried my hair after and finally had my phone with me. I noticed a message from Rosie and I know that I wouldn’t like it.

Rosie: How’s your honeymoon with an old man?

I scoffed and shook my head. If Rosie knew that the old man she mentioned was Raven, she would surely won’t let me marry Raven. I blew each candle and closed the curtains. I put away the flowers from the bed. I sneezed from the pollen and I removed the first cover in front of the bed to brush off the petals. I am tired for the whole day.

As soon as I hit the bed, I dozed off. I was in a deep sleep when I felt a hand on my breasts. He looked down to find my robe open and whoever touching me had a golden band on the ring finger. I turned to him and pushed him. It woke him as our eyes met.

“What?” He mumbled.

“Don’t you fucking touch me!” I shouted at him as I moved away quickly. I froze when I saw those eyes. Does he look hurt? I suddenly felt guilty as I~~I shouldn't have shouted at him.

“I’m sorry.” I pressed my lips as it all came back to me.

Raven and I were supposed to be together. He was supposed to only love me… but remembering him on top of Rosie made me sick.

“Hya, did you really think that I harassed your sister back then?” He scoffed. “You didn’t believe me?”

“No.” I shook my head. “Let’s not talk about it.” I reached my head as I quickly turned away. A drop of water fell on my hand and I realized that I was tearing. He lay back down and moved away from me. His back on me.

“Don’t ever say sorry. It’s not your fault, anyway.” He mumbled. I stared at his back as tears streamed down my cheeks. I slipped out of bed and headed to the bathroom. I close the door and face the mirror. My eyes are red. I sniffled as I looked ugly when I cried. Why am I crying again? I know that I was tired from crying eight years ago.

I exhaled softly and washed my face. I shouldn’t be crying now. But I remembered it well.

Rosie was under him while he was on top of her. Rosie was laughing while his hand was on her neck. He was half naked and her clothes were a mess. From the look of it, they seemed to just come from making out.

Sure he didn’t harass Rosie. They had an affair behind my back. I headed out and was surprised that Raven was there. He reached my face as he lowered his head.

“Hyacinth, you know me.” He hugged me, and my eyes widened. “Your scent just makes me hard right now, wife.” He lowered more and kissed my shoulders. I turned my face away. This is our honeymoon, but I don’t feel like doing it. However, he was insisting, opening my robe. I closed my eyes hard.

“I want you to want it.”

“Just do as you wish. I don’t own my body anyway. I was sold to you.” I felt so guilty that I sounded harsh. But the way he kissed my earlobe and my cheeks was the same. He was gentle and his scent… was relaxing. I shouldn’t feel comfortable with it.

“Darling, I saved you from your asshole family.” He reached my face so we could look at each other face to face. He kissed my face just under my eyes. I didn’t realize that he used it to wipe off my tears. I was taken aback. I shouldn’t fall again.

“I promise a billion kisses every day…” He whispered and continued kissing me. Every inch of my face and my neck. I exhaled softly and held onto his arm as I was being carried to bed. I don’t want to fall for him. “Hyacinth…” He mumbled.

***Hyacinth***I felt like a doll being dressed up by Irene and the driver drove me to wherever appointment I had. Irene said that there’s a personal shopper that I am meeting. I never shop luxuriously for myself. And I remember that Rosie doesn’t have a personal shopper herself. She likes doing it all by herself. There were two personal shoppers. ** Hyacinth ** I stood there for what seemed forever. My eyes focus on him. I don’t know why I am still hurt. Why did he tell me to meet him at the club and meet his friends? Why was Rosie there? Why was he letting her touch him? I shouldn’t feel jealous. I shouldn’t get angry, but my heart is about to burst.Does he still love her? I don’t understand now. I felt trapped in this marriage. I was finally back from wondering when Raven stood. His face was serious and he pushed Rosie. He approached me and reached my hand but I gently pushed it. “Hyacinth.” His voice was deep. “Let's talk later. Your sister… you can tell her to leave.” I furrowed at him. He’s talking nonsense again. “Who am I to tell her that?” I chewed my lower lip as I tried hard not to cry. No. I shouldn’t cry. I am over him. “Wife,” He pulled my waist closer but I looked away. He reached my chin and lifted it closer to his serious face. “You own the club now. I told you, my friends.” What the hell? Own the club?

***Hyacinth***“Raven, did you get rid of her?” David asked which caught my attention. I looked around and didn’t see Rosie anywhere. But as soon as Raven sat down, he already smelled like her perfume which I hated. His hand was on my thigh. I pushed it away, feeling uneasy. I was about to relax when I felt his lips move to my earlobe. “Hyacinth. I just got rid of your sister… so don’t ever stop me from touching you.” He whispered. If he only knew that my stomach was near my throat. I felt sick to the stomach. Raven was showing me that he and Rosie…“Your sister is beautiful,” David said as I looked up at him. “Is she the heiress of Dawson?” Just as I expected, everyone is allured by her. I wouldn’t be surprised that one day, they will turn their backs on me or they will start talking about me when I have my back at them. I heard his chuckle and he sighed after. “I’m sorry,” I felt his hand on my hair, gently stroking it with his fingers. “I won’t smoke again.” “I don’t care, Raven,” I said coldly. “Rosie will be working in the company, that’s why she’s back.” He said out of nowhere.I don’t know what to say. I knew that. She’s the Queen in that company anyway. “Hyacinth,” His voice was deep as I heard him exhaling. “Why won’t you work in the company? I’ll give you a higher position and any position you want.” “Higher position?” I scoffed. “Higher position had a lot of work to do.” “Most higher positions mostly pass work to lower positions.” he chuckled. “Rosie already named a position for herself.” I turned my head to see his smirk. “What is it?” “C

Miss Darcy.” I froze as I stared at his teal eyes. He doesn’t seem to be lying. And I wasn’t staring at his gorgeous eyes because he’s good-looking, but the fact that he knows Darcy as my stepmother and now my mother-in-law, Raven’s mother. “She did?” “Yes,” He nodded. “We happened to visit your family residence and Miss Darcy happened to pass by your residence and approach us. Have you spoken to her?” I shook my head as I sniffled. She wasn’t even at the wedding. “Here’s my calling card. Call me if you need something. **Hyacinth**Watching Cal endure the MRI and CT scans after his seizure shattered my heart into pieces. Kelly wept uncontrollably, her sobs echoing through the sterile hospital hallway, while Cal’s mother observed her from a distance, her expression unreadable. My chest ached with the weight of unshed tears, but I swallowed them back—I’ve always been good at holding myself together. But now, Cal’s condition is deteriorating. Short-term memory loss? He kept forgetting things—new faces, recent conversations, even the smallest details. I should confess to Cal’s parents—or Kelly’s—that this was my fault. Maybe then they’d stop blaming each other. I didn’t know the root cause of their tension, but their constant fighting was tearing Kelly apart. And deep down, I knew Cal would never want to forget her. There had to be a psychological reason behind his lapses, right? The thought of being forgotten by Raven one day sent a cold shiver down my spine. I glanced at Cal’s mother, my lips part

***Kelly's POV***The Batangas vacation in our private villa had been epic. Now, my casts were finally off, though I still wore supports on my right arm and leg. With my cousin's help, we'd escaped the Philippines - and my father, who would never have approved of this. I'm a grown woman with my own career, about to marry the man I love. So why does this anxiety keep clawing at my chest? I glanced at Patricia, who was pretending to read some business book while yawning for the fifth time. Hyacinth mirrored her exactly. Those two might as well be twins - best friends who shared the same short attention span for anything resembling nonfiction. My gaze traveled across our group - the Sinclair mother-daughter duo, Seth with some Russian woman I didn't recognize. Irene was absent, needed by Darcy back home. And Eino... I remembered with a pang how he'd stayed behind in the Philippines to handle GGC business. The extra security felt oppressive - two bodyguards assigned just to me. I stretc

Kelly I woke up with the same heavy feeling as always—except this time, I didn’t feel satisfied with my sleep. Maybe it was because I felt like I was floating. Not the good kind of floating, like when I’m in Cal’s arms. We loved staying on the yacht, scuba diving—though I never swam much. The vast, beautiful ocean terrified me. The first time I went underwater was as a teenager, and Cal was the one who guided me, leading me through the coral reefs and the vibrant fish that lived there. Damn, I miss Cal. I reached for my phone beside me with my left hand, checking for any missed calls or messages from him. Nothing. Just like every other day. "Miss Kelly?" My private nurse stood by the bed, offering her hand. "Do you need help in the bathroom?" I nodded, letting her assist me. Even my skincare routine was harder now—Mom had to help me with it every night. After washing up and changing, my nurse guided me out, only for us to stop when Eino emerged from his room, shirtless. "Goo

PatriciaI spent the entire evening watching Eino closely, my bottle of water in hand. Tonight, I’d had my fill of alcohol. Observing the dynamics between Eino and Anthony, it became clear. Eino couldn’t take his eyes off Hyacinth, while Anthony seemed far more interested in his phone than anything else happening around him.It wasn't nearly as fun without Cal, Penny, or David around. The usual buzz seemed to be missing, and I found myself slipping into my comfort zone, distant from the others. Anthony noticed me in my bubble and, sensing my solitude, grabbed a bottle of water before making his way over. He sat beside me without hesitation.“So, no fun partying with Grandma Sinclair, huh?” he teased.I smiled, taking a sip of water, “I had fun. I was filming and taking some good photos.”“Did you get a good shot of my muscles?” he asked, clearly pleased with himself.I pulled out Janice’s expensive camera, which had been handed to me earlier. She was busy tossing floaties for photos,

**Hyacinth**I gulped down another glass of cold water, willing myself to sober up. Having the Sinclairs on my yacht made me both nervous and excited. Two weeks wasn’t much time before we had to return to the US, but I was determined to make every moment count. Returning to the marina dock, I greeted Lian and Margarette with a warm smile. “Wow,” Lian gasped, her eyes widening as she pointed to the sleek black-and-platinum yacht. “Is that yours?” “Yes,” I said, pride lacing my voice. “A wedding gift from my husband.” I pulled Margarette into a gentle hug. “Oh, my little Regina,” she murmured, pressing a kiss to my cheek. “My mother-in-law and a few friends are already abroad,” I said, guiding Margarette by the arm as the staff assisted us onto the dock. She tilted her head up, her face softening. “The sky is so clear tonight,” she mused. “Full of stars.” I followed her gaze and nodded. “Just wait—the view only gets better from the water.” Inside, my mother-in-law, Darcy

**Darcy** The scorching Philippine summer clung to the air like a thick, damp blanket as I made my way to the door. I plan to follow where my children are staying, which is where the yacht was parked—a brief escape from the chaos back home. The sun blazed mercilessly, turning the marina into a shimmering mirage. Even the sea breeze carried the salty tang of sweat and sunscreen. When Eino arrived, he looked like he had just run a marathon—his shirt clung to his chest, his dark hair plastered to his forehead with sweat. His usually sharp features were softened by exhaustion, his breath slightly uneven. “Oh, dear.” I plucked a few tissues from the box on the side table and dabbed at his glistening forehead. “Is the Philippine heat trying to roast you alive?” I teased, though my tone was laced with concern. He let out a breathless laugh, swiping the tissue from my hand to wipe his face. “The heat’s good, Auntie. Makes you appreciate the shade.” He pulled me into a quick hug, press

***Raven***Anthony’s demeanor was sincere, almost too much so. I had already had my men comb through his files before he even mentioned the alleged stalking. It seemed his ex-girlfriend was indeed intent on destroying his career. Her actions were calculated, deliberate, and venomous.Anthony’s family wielded considerable power, a status they had achieved largely thanks to their influential clients—Georgina and Eevi, the formidable Af Forselles mother-daughter duo. Georgina’s trust in the firm, and her decision to pass it on to Anthony despite his scandal, spoke volumes. The scandal itself was a tangled web: Anthony’s ex-girlfriend was now engaged to his college rival, a man who had competed with him not only academically but professionally, in several high-stakes cases. Despite the rivalry, Anthony had always excelled in defending his clients, even when the odds were stacked against him.The accusations against Anthony were damning—rape, leveled by the very woman he had once loved. There were pictures of him with Hyacinth, alongside a woman with curly hair—Maggie, I believe. I couldn’t help but wonder why there were so many photos of Hyacinth in his gallery… not just her, but Patricia and a few others as well. ***Hyacinth*** The words on the business textbook blurred together, meaningless shapes on a page. I tapped my pen against my notebook, leaving behind a trail of spirals and half-formed story ideas instead of notes. This wasn’t me. Numbers, strategies, corporate jargon—it all felt like a language I’d never be fluent in. But Raven had insisted, and so here I was, trapped in a role I never wanted. A sigh escaped me, heavy with frustration. “It’s interesting.” Patricia’s voice snapped me back to reality. Of course she found it fascinating. She thrived on structure, on logic, while my mind lived in the spaces between words, in the emotions that couldn’t be quantified. I slumped further in my seat, my pout deepening. “Hyacinth.” A book landed with a sharp thud in front of me. Zian loomed over the table, arms crossed, his usual calm demeanor fraying at the edges. “Are you even listening?” I blinked up at him, deliberately slow. “Can’t Patricia just handle this?” “Hey,” Patri
