Jacopo Nicolo...

Shock would be an understatement for what I was feeling after I found out that Eza was pregnant. And it all started making even more sense.

The way she just got up and came to her father's house, the way she confronted me while looking at me hopeful to hear something better that me telling her that it didn't matter, her thinking that there was a possibility that I might hurt her... it all makes sense.

I could see why she didn't want to talk to me face to face because I just knew she would think that it was what I wanted to get so I would be able to leave.

She couldn't be any more wrong to think that way, but I was the reason why she assumed any of that would be true.

I wanted to kick myself for letting them drive off and not insisting on following. I needed to be there for her, and that was exactly what I was planning to do when I hopped back into my car and fired up the engine. But I didn't even get to drive off the property before my phone started ringing.

  • Forced To Marry A Broken Monster.   A crused bond.

I was freed from one monster, only to be thrust into the arms of another. It has been exactly a year since I lived through a nightmare, a year since I was rescued from my own home. I didn't have enough time to heal before I was told that I was going to be married off. I begged. I begged for a whole year, and in the end, I still found myself in a room, alone, in a white wedding dress, about to walk down the aisle to marry a man I did not know. "You'll be fine." I heard him call out. I glanced up, only to see that he was staring down at me with nothing but void in his eyes. "You promised that you would protect me." I accused as tears blurred my eyes. "You'll be protected here." He dismissed before he gave me his back. "I hate you." I whispered, feeling my scarred heart break in my chest all over again. "I hate you for what you'd allowed to happen to me, and I hate you for what you're allowing to happen to me now." I added, hoping my words would hurt my coldblooded father. I kn

When my father and I reached the end of the aisel, I glanced at him. Victro Viper had his eyes on Jacopo Nicolo. While my father's eyes were no longer void of any emotions, there was a certain look in them that I couldn't quite decipher. My father then dropped his eyes on me for a split second before he turned away. "Step forward." The priest spoke with a gentle voice, and I forced myself to move. No matter how hard I tried to stop myself from limping, I couldn't control it. My right leg was too weak to hold my entire weight for more than a few seconds at a time. I stood in front of the man without lifting my eyes to his. My line of sight was directed at his hands, both hidden within black leather gloves. The priest started speaking, and not a single word he spoke entered my ears. Nothing made sense to me as I continued to stare at the man's gloved hands. Why is he wearing gloves on a day this hot, especially one that is leather? Was it to hide the blood he had on his

The ride to my now husband's apartment was torturous. I was told to sit in the back seat of the car while Elijah and the silver-haired woman sat in the front. Neither of them said a word, the car filled with the utmost discomfort. I kept my gaze planned on the right window of the back door of the car, gazing out in case this was the last time I would get to see the outside again. I haven't seen this many cars since before the day that man took over my previous home, since the day before I became a prisoner. The sun was bright in the sky even though the hours for her disappearance were looming closer and closer. I wanted to erase my memory even for a few minutes, so I would be able to enjoy the view, so I wouldn't be taunted by the thought of this ride being my very last. When the car came to a stop, my heart nearly dropped out of my chest, fear shooting up and down my body at an alarming rate. "I'll be back, my love." Elijah commented, his gaze planted on the

I landed on a chair with no armrest, one I had not seen because the bed had all of my attention. My breath was coming out short, my vision swimming and my head filling up with pressure.I heard a chair squeal, and I looked over to see Jacopo slowly lowering himself to the opposite side of the small circular table separating us.Despite not being thrown on the bed, I was still unable to calm my heart down, gain control over my breath, and stop my heart from having a heartbeat of its own.I placed my shaking hands on my lap and slowly raised my eyes to his.Jacopo Nicolo was staring me down as if he was trying to study me. I can almost see the gears turning in his head, as if he was thinking about what he would do to me.Jacopo said no words, just boring his gaze into me. The burn scars on his face pulled at his cloudy eye when he narrowed his eyes at me, and it quickly made me avoid making eye contact with him.Jacopo placed something on the table, and the small click it made when he

The evening blended into the night, and I was still locked in that man's bedroom.I had not moved from the chair he'd left me in, too fearful of what I would discover if I dared to move around. My eyes started hurting from staring into the distance for too long, the thick drapes blocking the view of the dark sky.Time slipped from my grasp as I continued to glue myself to the chair, my nails digging into the side of the chair as anxiety embedded itself deep in my bones. The wait was unbearable. It left me alone with my thoughts, contemplating on what had happened after I stepped into this apartment and the dilemma I was met with.Even though I could barely see anything in front of me, I could still invision the three items that the man had laid down on the table.I had a hard time wrapping my mind around what that was about and all the accusations he shot my way before he tried to make me end my own life. What had my father dragged me into?I tried my absolute best to try to keep myse

I dragged the suitcases down the hall, wondering if I was supposed to move them to his bedroom, or if there was a guest bedroom I could stay in.I tried to open the doors of the rooms located on either side of the hall, but all of them were locked. The only door that remained open was his bedroom, and that was all I needed to know that I wasn't provided with a private space for myself. With no other option to take, I dragged the suitcases into his bedroom and set them aside near the door.I knew I had less than an hour to get ready, and I was desperate to get out of this wedding dress, so I opened one of the suitcases in search of a more comfortable dress.A frown covered my face when I realized that most of the dresses, almost all of them, didn't belong to me. They were all brand new, their tags still attached.I haven't gone shopping in the last one year, which was why I was staring at the opened suitcase with wide eyes.I reached for the other suitcase and pulled the zipper open to

Ezabella Viper..."I told you that I wasn't ready for him to find out yet." I commented, keeping my eyes out the window at my side, refusing to look at my father after he just told Jacopo that I'm pregnant.Early this morning, I decided that I wanted to take Connor's advice and tell my father about the pregnancy. He was already in the kitchen making himself a cup of coffee when I came down looking for him. I was extremely hesitant to tell him about the pregnancy because I already felt like I knew how he was going to react, and I was not going to be hesitant.I didn't even wish him a good morning before I blurted out "I'm pregnant" out of nowhere. He and I had stared at each other for a few awkward seconds, and I had to wonder whether or not he had heard me the first time."I said..." I'd started, but it was obvious that he had heard me with the look he gave me."I heard you." He replied, anger laced in his voice."Did he force himself in you?" Was his next question, one met wit

I stared up at her for a few minutes and then down at my phone, waiting to get a reply from her.But it never came.I typed out a text, deciding that yelling up at her was not helping my case."I'm sorry." I typed. "I'm truly sorry for ever making you feel unsafe with me. But Eza, I would never, ever, think about hurting you again. I swear it."I sent it before I looked up at her.Her eyes were planted on her phone, probably reading the text I just sent her.Exhaustion was evident of her face, and I looked down to check the time and saw that it was half past one.I let out another sigh. The last thing I wanted after coming here against her will was to make her stay up late when she clearly looked like she could use some sleep. And while I wanted to apologize until she would forgive me, I knew I needed to back off a bit and let her sleep."I'll leave you for tonight. Sleep, Eza." I sent before looking up at her.Eza was already staring at me, and her shoulder leaned against the frame

Jacopo Nicolo...I paced back and forth in front of my car, tension building in my entire body.I drove like a man man from my apartment to the city. I just needed to see her, to talk to her, to apologize like I should have from the beginning.Yes, she told me she needed time away from me. But I could not, for the life of me, spend time away from her like that. The cold tone in her voice when she said she needed time kept ringing in my ears. She left me, and I pushed her to do so. I can't blame anyone but myself for that.I just hopped she would hear me out and give me a chance. I will stand outside the house all night if I have to.The front door opened again, and Victor returned. He looked just as displease as he was when I first pulled up at his house, demanding that I turned around and drive right back where I came from unless I wanted to get killed. "Yeah, you need to leave." He said, letting me know that he has confirmed with Eza that she doesn't want me here."Bella wants

"I'm..." I started, my voice coming put hesitantly."Where are you, Eza?" He asked again, sounding slightly calmer than he did a minute ago."I'm home." I replied."Home where, Eza? I looked everywhere for you." He asked."I'm not at the apartment, Jacopo. I'm at my father's house." My reply was met with utter silence, and I almost wondered if the call was disconnected had I not listened to his labored breath."What... What do you mean?" He asked. "What do you mean you're at your father's house?" "That's exactly what it means, Jacopo. I'm in Viper City. I arrived a few hours ago." I replied, feeling my stomach turn as I tried to keep a neutral voice.Another short silence fell between us before I heard him speak."Do you want me to come get you... or, or is Victor driving you back?" He asked. It was a carefully crafted question. What he really wanted to ask and get as an answer was whether I was coming back or not.I let out a soft sigh."I'm not coming back, Jacopo. Ezabella Viper... I sat behind at my desk, looking downbat the open notebook in front of me. I'd sat down to make plans earlier, but I grew too exhusted and ended up dozing off, only to wake up to a drooled on empty paper. I ripped that page off and threw in on the floor before I picked up my pen and tried to write my plans down again. The only thing I got out of me was to pay the hospital a visit to have my baby checked. That was pretty much it. I glanced towards the window and was pretty disappointed to see that it was already dark. I was hoping to get a check up today. I guess that will have to wait till tomorrow. A soft knock pulled my attention towards the door. "Yes?" I called out. The door was pushed open, revealing my father. "You haven't left your room for the rest of the day." He commented. I glanced down at my notebook, slowly closing it. "I had some things to do." I replied. "Plus, I dozed off." He nodded his head. "Some of our people are here for dinner. Do you wan

I saw his car doors open, not just the drivers side, but also the passenger side. And who do I see with him?Freaking Miles the snitch.I got out of my car with a growl forming in my throat. I slammed my car shut, rounding up the front to meet them face to face."What the heck were you thinking bringing him here?" I snapped, glaring at Elijah and Miles."He can help. You know he can." Elijah replied."Besides, I have been put on the side lines for way too long. None of this would have happened if Dante had just let me do my job. But no, he got to suck up to those
